      Same here but monitor is not part of PC. It is something like own crappy car so why I need pay car insurance every year? You buy it for other reasons but you need both in order to drive. Nonetheless OLED is for premium users who have more cash to spend.

    • @VexxedSR
      @VexxedSR 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@Sebastianino Honestly the advantages of OLED aren't worth the current asking prices monitor wise. TV wise pricing makes sense since you can find deals on new 120hz 42-55" OLEDs for sub $700. I still prefer the cheaper mini LED monitors for now since they get a lot brighter than OLED monitors but have their own issues when it comes to black smearing or crushing around bright objects on a darker background, that is apart from select few models. Personally I'd wait the 2-3 years until OLED is better and cheaper where we might start seeing good 1440p 144hz displays start at $250.

      @@Hevyqx ur chronic if you think paying $1000+ for a gpu is ok.
      It goes both ways. There are $5000 consumer monitors and $30000 professional monitors.
      Price is relative. What do you usually get with $200? Nowadays like meh ips with 1440p at 144hz maybe 175hz if you’re lucky. 500? Might be able to get a 4K 144hz with a good ish ips. Panel. At 700 you can get a 4K 144hz with a really nice mini led panel or a 1440p 240hz oled.
      Oled top of the line 10bit 240hz monitor at 4K or some ultra wide 1440p is gonna be $900+
      You pay for specs. Just like a gpu. Just because you don’t see value in something doesn’t mean it isn’t worth it lol. You pay for features and advancements in tech. Not everything is, nor should be mid range pricing if it’s brand new. It doesn’t work like that. If it costs them $300 to make a monitor they’re not gonna sell it for $350 that’s not worth it for them. Margins have and always will be a thing. Oleds cost more to make because it’s physically harder to produce.

    • @christianmino3753
      @christianmino3753 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      then try your hardest to not even look at an OLED, because it will ruin you lmao
      Note: I want to add, that I only say this because I got the OLED switch to mod and use as a steam link type deal while also being able to play a lot of things native on the device, but I too, will be sticking with IPS. The OLED switch kinda ruined my experience a little, because now I want an OLED display. But a nice IPS ultrawide with a 1440p resolution, with even decent HDR (even if it maxes out at 500 nits, you'll still get a beautiful contrast ratio and all the other benefits of HDR with a display that's JUST bright enough to be considered real HDR) will still give you a wonderful experience. MUCH nicer than even an SDR 4k display, and it's as close to an OLED you can get.

    They are definitely a lot better than IPS panels for gaming and basically as good as it gets as far as monitor technology goes. They really make games especially those with HDR pop and their lack of motion blur makes their refresh rate almost feel double of what it actually is. The motion clarity is insane on them. I still agree that they are still a bit expensive though but are definitely the correct upgrade path for gaming.

    OLED for PC is better if ONLY 1- you are gonna game on it. 2- you are gonna consume media on it. BUT THE PROBLEM IS: for every day work or anything that needs to be static for a longer period of time its a really big risk of burn in.
    So IF your goal is basically gaming or media, its perfect. If you are gonna use it for everything equally, not so sure. Yeah, you could do some workarounds to mitigated the problem but the risk is still there so it's up to you to balance pros and cons and there's no right answer for everyone

    I wouldn't fall into the category of a "budget baller." Though while I like the color and contrast on OLEDs, I've always been squeamish of potential burn in. Actually kinda leaning towards the Sony Bravia 9 since it's mini led. Kinda and all one setup for gaming and streaming entertainment.
    I'm working on a bit of a different setup at home. Ditched my desk, and got a bed table that has these adjustable wide legs off the ends and wheels. It rolls right over the top of my bed and is height adjustable, manually anyways. Gonna put a L shaped floor TV VESA stand, and a 65" TV at the foot of my bed, PC at the base of that. Still deciding on a good USB hub extension to attach to the table for my peripherals. But yeah, bed gaming/entertainment PC setup.
    It really opens up the floor space in my room eliminating the desk and office chair. Has a cleaner look to it. And well a bed is designed for comfort, a good wedge pillow or spare couch cushion let me relax. Still a bit of a work in progress, but what I have so far is significantly more comfortable and convenient than before.
