"it still works! try doing that with your digital camera about a hundred years" Well said! WELL SAID!! old cameras are built to last, the new ones are meant to break so you can buy a new one and spend more cash!
@salemcripple pt2.. (I am not an artist in any sence of the word, just saying). A film camera is mechanical (at least a great majority of them are), which in my opinion will ALWAYS be 100% more interesting, and fun to use than anything digital.
where can i buy this book? I like old cameras. I still use my mom's old minolta sr-1. I could go on for days on the reasons why a film camera is better than a digital (which still has it's positives).
@prshea95 Well, for one as said in a hundred year my old minolta will still work as good as the day it was brand new (with proper care of course). Any digital with the same care is lucky to last 5 years. You can still get just as good (or better) quality from a film camera. You can have just as many (or more) effects with a film camera. It takes an actual artist to use, and develope film. Any moron can use a digital and make it look "artsy" or good....continued
Wait, this is amazing. Someday I'd like to build a huge museum of cameras.
Excellent.... this is going to be such a valuable resource for anyone wanting to be able to share the "complete" story of photography...
In addition to the book, I would love to see a 1-2 hour Discovery Channel special on the history of photography...
