I met the man himself in 1983....Jimmy Houston....watched him countless hours on Saturday mornings. Him, Bill dance, Roland Martin, and my daddy taught me how to bass fish!
“Chunkin’ and Windin’” was the perfect theme song for Hank Parker’s Outdoor Magazine, which ran for two seasons in the mid-eighties. The song is catchy and easy to remember, and it also has a great beat that is perfect for fishing. Eddie Reasoner really knew how to capture the essence of the fishing experience with his music. This song always makes me want to grab my pole and tackle and head out to the lake.👍
When I hear this it reminds me of being young and begging my mom to drop me off at the lake before i could drive. I loved watching Jimmy Houston. Im 52 now and still watching.
@@kevinamack6 Me too! I moved from California to Tennessee three years ago and live next to Old Hickory Lake. My neighbor came to our yard sale the other day and told me he wrote and sang Chunkin' and Windin".....it was Eddie Reasoner! I was in complete disbelief! He invited me fishing......I have had this song in my head for 45 years.....When I hear this song it takes me back to my early days of watching fishing shows on the weekends and fishing as much as I could. I am a lucky dog!
I turn 60 in a couple of months, my nephew grew up in Baltimore, he's 15, he's out here in the country now and has fishing on the brain. He don't even know the fishing song yet.
I play this almost every time I go fishing.
Man this brings up the feels. Better, simpler times. Nothing but summer, bare feet, and the outdoors. A friendlier time.
The greatest intro of all time nobody will never come close to ever writing a intro like this brings back a lot of memories good memories

Loved watching Jimmy Houston on cable many years ago! Song always reminds me of quiet late afternoons, fishing my favorite spot until night falls!
Better times, better days.
Sure takes me back to the Saturday mornings of my youth.
