I think T1’s recent struggles in domestic play could be due to two main reasons: 1. They might still be dealing with DDoS attacks in Korea, which could be messing with their practice and scrims. 2. They’ve got a lot of extra stuff going on in Korea like commercials and TV appearances, which could be distracting them from focusing fully on their games. Being away from Korea now eliminates the DDoS threat and reduces distractions, allowing them to concentrate more on their upcoming matches. IDK but this is probably the reason why T1 has always overperformed at the international stage.

I have a question about the parity of the tournament. I understand that higher seeds deserve an advantage over lower seeds coming into the tournament. But what I don't understand is the side selection buff no one seems to talk about, In Pool 1, 1 LCK, LPL, LCS, LEC already have an advantage facing off against Pool 4 minor teams. But giving side selection to Pool 1 teams all throughout Swiss stage is a little too much. Does G2/Fly deserve side selection throughout the Swiss stage over LNG, WBG,T1, HLE, TL, FNC, TES, and DK? I think getting Pool1 vs Pool4 in the first match is enough of an advantage, anything more seems like Riots way of giving an LCS/LEC team a huge advantage throughout the rest of the tournament. I think after round 1, side selection should be based on ELO or a coin toss. What do you think?
Side selection or not, the competition is pointless and needs to be split into a West-only Worlds and an East-only Worlds. No amount of favourable set up for minor region teams like G2 would ever improve the competition. They need to stop pretending this is a global competition when only two countries dominate from the quarter finals onwards every year.
This is what happened last year as well. G2 won close games having blue side every series. The second they got the RNG (same pool 1) red side they looked like the biggest frauds in the world. Only T1/GenG look like humans so far on red side. Every team has looked complete dog on red side.

@@scrapox217They were definitely the 4th LCK team last meta (ADC mid/AP carry jungle meta). The meta shifted back to mages mid and tank/bruiser jungle, which is what T1 is comfortable with. Hard to say where they are now compared to the other LCK teams, but I would say they are still behind GenG and HLE, so 3rd best LCK at most.

I have a question about the parity of the tournament. I understand that higher seeds deserve an advantage over lower seeds coming into the tournament. But what I don't understand is the side selection buff no one seems to talk about, In Pool 1, 1 LCK, LPL, LCS, LEC already have an advantage facing off against Pool 4 minor teams. But giving side selection to Pool 1 teams all throughout Swiss stage is a little too much. Does G2/Fly deserve side selection throughout the Swiss stage over LNG, WBG,T1, HLE, TL, FNC, TES, and DK? I think getting Pool1 vs Pool4 in the first match is enough of an advantage, anything more seems like Riots way of giving an LCS/LEC team a huge advantage throughout the rest of the tournament. I think after round 1, side selection should be based on ELO or a coin toss. What do you think?
Side selection or not, the competition is pointless and needs to be split into a West-only Worlds and an East-only Worlds. No amount of favourable set up for minor region teams like G2 would ever improve the competition. They need to stop pretending this is a global competition when only two countries dominate from the quarter finals onwards every year.
This is what happened last year as well. G2 won close games having blue side every series. The second they got the RNG (same pool 1) red side they looked like the biggest frauds in the world. Only T1/GenG look like humans so far on red side. Every team has looked complete dog on red side.
