    I am planning to rent a ProMaster and take it out on a weekend to get the feel of it I like keeping it simple too I am retired now but I want to go camping all up the coast of Florida and then back down to the East Coast keeping things simple is the way to go I'll keep in touch

    "That's Classified " was the funniest line I heard. I like the way you didn't have to walk around to get in your living space. How do you set your bed up? It looks comfy when in bed mode.

    I just watched your video , and said to my self , there is two of us at least ! just got , after looking for 8 months , a 2022 dodge city wagon , and plan is a stealth city/ country over night to a few weeks ... had a 81 chevy G-20 wore out tired smelly van , and a daily driver , and a hot rod , and a big insurance bill , and no place to park , this is a perfect driver , and a good get out of town van , did the seats in the back come out easy enough ? looks like they will , I just picked up the van 86 miles ago !

    Easy fix for the plug issue, just get a splitter like you'd use for any outlet. If you want more power, just put a Walmart AGM battery (warranty good anywhere) in back and run a Renogy DC to DC converter. So about $300 you have power any time. You could use it all the time and be able to take the Yeti with you. You could also get the Renogy DC to DC converter with built in solar charge controller and 50 amp charging capability. I think the two would work great.
    I have the 40 amp Renogy and a switch also on my battery with amplifier wiring so I can use that battery to run my subwoofer and also jump-start my van if the battery dies. So far no issues, but I was having trouble keeping it charged before, so that prompted the switch. Driving it a lot, due to hitting a deer with my daily driver, instead of just keeping it as a backup vehicle used rarely has probably helped the battery.

    • @GinaKayLandis
      @GinaKayLandis 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      See I like this solution. No inverter needed bc it is DC to DC with power to the Yeti? But with solar controller is an inverter needed? If not, really reduces the need for a bigger electrical setup.

    • @DeliberateNRandom
      @DeliberateNRandom 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GinaKayLandisas long as you're not running any AC components, then correct, no inverter necessary. You can get a smaller AC inverter for around $50-80 for a decent cheap one. I bought a 500-600 watt sine wave inverter for about $55, I think. It has a remote turn on switch, too. So if I need it, I can use it then. There are many budget builds you can do, depending on your needs and budget.
      I've got about $500 into a 100 Watt solar panel, inverter, battery and DC to DC converter and wiring to my starting battery. It's like installing an amplifier in a car.
      I bought a little GoLabs "solar generator" for $120 and I can just plug it into my cigarette lighter, AC outlet or a cheap solar panel. That's an easy way to go if you don't need much.
      The nice thing with a battery is, you can replace the component and not the entire system, if something breaks. Plus, you can charge an AGM battery when it's cold, compared to lithium batteries. Lithium batteries have a better charging capability, more charges, lighter, but expensive and people I see in Canada, and myself in Montana, have trouble when it's cold half the year. That's why I got AGM I paid $165 at Walmart and it has a 4 year warranty at any Walmart, so I can get it tested and replaced the same day. I don't prefer Walmart, but the warranty is highly beneficial compared to shipping one out.
      I watch Will Prowse, and he's a genius with solar, batteries and low voltage electrical.

      @@DeliberateNRandom That all sounds great, Ben. You mean AC like AC/DC right? Not air conditioning...? I thought of that after I typed a lexicon of air conditioning stuff lol. Anyway, this looks like I can pull in what I need by springtime without having some outrageous multi thousand dollar system installed. Thanks and yes I watch Will Prowse too! As time gets closer for me to be able to focus more on the build, I'll be getting an AGM battery - our weather is so cold in Ohio the lithium batteries would struggle a bit in winter if the van isn't driven frequently - so glad you brought up that lithium charging difficulty! Ohhh you know what - this makes the Jackery more attractive for our climate... interesting! hmm... Thanks again!

    • @DeliberateNRandom
      @DeliberateNRandom 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GinaKayLandis Ya, the Jackery style option is decent. The nice thing about that is, you can take that anywhere, not just in your camping vehicle. You can put it on the picnic table. I'd just make different ways you can plug it in with your lights, etc. The attractive thing about the GoLabs one is it's LiFePO4, which is a better chemistry for batteries to last longer than the Jackery batteries they use. I also watch HoboTech for his reviews on different "solar generators", because they aren't all equal. If you don't use it much, you could still be fine with a Jackery. Chrome from Vancity Vanlife has had his little one for about 4 years, but he has several things to use at this point. Just my opinion, you can't go too wrong either way, it's just what I've heard from reviews, that on paper, the Jackery isn't the best, but it's definitely reliable versus trying to figure out which other brands are decent.

    • @DeliberateNRandom
      @DeliberateNRandom 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GinaKayLandisI just found this video from Will Prowse and thought of your reply. Granted, it's a couple years old, some things have changed, but this has a lot of great information for beginners, including connections and solar panel tips. The input and output power through different connections was a surprising one.

Very good van. I also think one or two nights to escape is all that is required. Therefore your van is fine. You ain’t living in it. Best wishes 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🤘🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🥃🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🥃🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🥃
