54 years ago I was on vacation with my parents. We spent the night in Colorado Springs. In the morning we're packing while the "Today" show plays in the background. I glance at the TV just as the scene switched to that morning's musical guest. There was the most beautiful girl I'd ever seen, dressed in Daisy Dukes and looking like a wet dream. Then she started singing and I couldn't believe my ears, a voice like none I'd ever heard. My love of Linda Ronstadt began that day and will last my lifetime.

Ronstadt's voice and vibe - always very special. Clear, powerful, honest and warm. She didn't have the self- absorbed nature of a star - even in her stadium days. This clip is missing the first half hour of the movie. Go find the whole film - her roots on the Borderlands is fascinating.

I am 74 years old. I have never had a crush on any female singer. But Linda Ronstadt is different. She will never know that a old country boy has been in love with her for a long long time. I first heard her voice when I was in Vietnam. I had never seen or heard her before. But when a friend of mine played one of her songs I was floored, I told him that when I got back home to the real world I wanted to see her in person. Well I never got that chance because when I got back I had other problems from war. Maybe some day when I pass on and God takes me I will see her in another life. She will always be in my heart.. @Linda Ronstadt

Wow from rock, to opera, to country, to Latin music, to pop/r&b she was a unstoppable force! To have such range and to be so bold to do so many different things is so unique! Most artist still with one genre but I think it's amazing that she started doing music for herself. She did it not because of the money but because she was passionate about! She refused to be put into a box. So sad that she has Parkinsons disease 😢 😞 the woman is always gonna be legendary. Not alot of singers like her out there that did it because they truly had a gift.

This made me almost cry. She was not just my favorite singer as a child, teen, and in my 20s, but I was so inspired by all she was---brave, goal-oriented, family-oriented, heritage-oriented, honest, forthright, kind, respectful--with wide-ranging interests, and most of all, a sharp mind. She was someone a young gal could look up to. Looking back, I know she was rooted and centered. And it wasn't just me. My entire family (who was musical) thought she was a great singer and loved her music, including my parents--who were of the Greatest Generation. Not often do parents and children agree on singers/music.

So amazing Lindas voice that at the end of this documentary it takes 5 superstar women singers just to sing one Linda Ronstadt song. That's how powerful her voice was. Now that she "can't" sing she still sings better than most people. Truly gifted and so versatile!

You know of the musical eras we've had over time from Classical to Heavy Metal Metal, the Classic Rock era is truly thee greatest of all time. I mean, I think classical music too was unbelievable, but vocally and melodically, the 60's and 70's for me are just beyond anything that's ever happened musically. The way people came together and just created music--idk that we'll ever experience anything like it again...with that said Linda Ronstadt was so damn smart and strong, you gotta love her!

I feel extremely fortunate to have lived in the generation of Linda Ronstadt. I enjoyed her beautiful, soulful voice so much, her beauty and charisma. I had her records back when records were big and had lyrics on the jackets or inside and I would sing along to her songs over and over again. Her music made me love singing even more and I couldn't help but dance to them as well. I saw her in concert live in Seattle on the waterfront and at an I-person talk

Hard to even describe the feelings just watching and listening to this, but I wish I was more aware of her when she was in full flight. My best friend was more aware of her at the time but I was skiing and listening to rock and roll and smoking pot durning this time and I just didn't follow her at that time in my life. Certainly was my loss and what a special person she is. Not that long ago when I heard her and Dolly and Emmy Lou that's when I really started going back and listening to her.

My best friend and I grew up with Linda as teenagers. She had a song for every phase of romance we were going through in our young lives. When a new Linda Ronstadt album came out we would go absolutely nuts and no matter what, we always managed to dig up the money to buy it. I replaced all of those albums one by one with CD's when I could afford it, that's how much her music meant to me. It's been many years now since I've listened to any of them, probably because I'm afraid they might make me too emotional? We love you Linda and wish you the best! Thank you for being such a wonderful and important part of our lives!

I always loved her and was really sorry she went for Jerry Brown. I met my wife in 1979 at a dance.. I saw her across the room ... SHE LOOKED LIKE LINDA RONSTADT. I fell in love with her immediately. We were together for over 4 decades .. she died of cancer in Oct 2020. I am going to listen to Linda again. This documentary brought tears to my eyes.

I'm British, love pop/rock/Americana/The Great American Songbook and I'll posit the suggestion that Linda Ronstadt, along with Ella Fitzgerald, are the two finest female American vocalists ever....Ronstadt has sung, folk, country, country rock, pop, rock and here's where it gets really interesting, Gilbert & Sullivan on Broadway, Cajun with Ann Savoy, Mexicana with her "songs of my father" and her Nelson Riddle albums....hell, this woman could probably sing the telephone directory - if one still exists !
PS, it's such a sadness that her illness prevents her from singing anymore !
