  • Youth in the Community is a weeklong program aimed at getting teens off of their couches and in their communities. They learn practical skills as they serve members of Frederick, Firestone, Dacono and Ft. Lupton, Colorado each morning. Then, they get to enjoy some fun activities that all culminate in a camping trip at the end of the week.
In addition to serving those in need in our communities (due to physical limitations), we also deliberately seek to share Jesus Christ as we serve. Jesus Himself declared, "...even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many" (Mark 10:45). We want to exemplify Jesus to all those around us!
This includes sharing Jesus with the youth that participate in the program. This is more than just a community service project with fun on the side. It is truly an opportunity to reach people of many ages and backgrounds with the gospel: Jesus, God the Son, came to die for our sins, and restore us to God so that we might spend eternity in Heaven. This is the reason we organize this program, serve our community and share the love we have received with those we are serving and serving alongside.
It is an awesome start to any summer and a great way to spend - not squander - a week.
