DIY bamboo lamp, Kintsugi inspirational video,bamboo lighting ideas, Ask Iosis

As we wrap up 2017, heres a simple diy lamp inspired by the beautiful philosophy of Kintsugi .
Few days back I read about the Kinsugi which is the japanese art of mending broken objects and turning them into pieces more beautiful than the original product using gold or silver epoxy.
The Japanese believed that the fractures on the ceramic bowl don’t represent the end of that objects life but rather an essential moment in its history . Not only is there no attempt to hide the damage , but the repair is literally highlighted.
And I fell in love with this Idea of embracing the brokenness.
This reminded me of a piece of bamboo which I had got for a diy, but later on didn’t use cos it had cracks. I thought of these cracks as a something which made it unfit for use. But after readiung about Kintsuki, I was inspired to create something with the same piece.
I deided to enhance the cracks further and added a few more.
I was just thinking that Sometimes in life after we experience a bad phase we try to move on not by accepting what has happned ,but in denial of it. Thinking or trying to believe that the bad times never actually happened..but we all know that these feelings can be suppressed but can never be erased. We can only move on by truly accepting it.
Talking about this year, well 2017 was really special, I started making viideos in Jan
with my partner. With no proper knowledge of filming, editing, no lighting equipment, no set , we decided to share our experience and passion for interior design and the youtube journey began.

I wanna thank each and everyone of you for everytime you showed up giving valuable time of your life and for being in this journey with me.
Because of you I have realised there is so much to learn and explore than what I know. Everytime when a new person joins our family I feel humbled and genuinely grateful that someone is willingly giving their time, love and support.
This makes me so much more excited about the coming year !
So lets celebrate our brave moments to end this amazing year and be grateful about being able to breath , love and laugh. Lets be more creative and laugh a little more in coming 2018 !
