Stop comparing apples to oranges. You talk about the $20k Maverick 4 yrs ago comparing it to this vehicle $35k now. This vehicle is not the base XL with no upgrades. This vehicle you are showing is the XLT with multiple upgrades. My XLT, just purchased 3 wks ago, was $29k before taxes.
The Focus died so the Maverick could live, and that was fine until they jacked up the price. Screw 'em. If you bought one soon after they came out that's great but if you're buying one now you're overpaying.
The Maverick has been detuned to push buyers into a Ranger. Im an old fart. I remember how the EPA started choking cars in 1972 and the kept sucking until about 1990. I remember when some cars started hit 300hp again. It was like a miracle. When the Dodge Viper came out with 400hp it was a holy grail auto at the time. Even though many cars in the late 60's had 400 hp.
It has nothing to do with being de-tuned. Completely different trucks and markets. The Ranger does not use the same motor either. Most buyers want the hybrid motor- Maverick. The Maverick is all about fuel economy and cost. The Ranger sales are also low. Because of the price, most buyers will go into the F-150. Yeah, The power is not an issue either even the hybrid motor. People are not buying Mavericks to tow.
probably not saving any money on an 24 since the xlt trim is on stop sale and youre forced to get a lariat which is going for the same price as a 25 xlt with packages. Go check them out in person. I was going to go 24 but the 24 xlt is pretty nice and doesnt have the eye sore screen.
This engine is one of Ford's new modular power cylinder engines. They make it in 1.5L, 2.0L and 2.3L. All three now have port and direct injection. Unfortunately the 2.0L has a gasoline particulate filter. That's why it's down on power this year.
You can buy a 2024 Maverick XL with 2.0 for as low as $24,000. Mullinax has at least 260 in stock. I really don't think losing 12 hp because of tighter emissions is going to be noticeable.

I'm 5'9" and when the driver seat is in my position, I have plenty of room in the back row. Just so everyone has some reference.
would you recommend getting 2024 and save more money too?

@MychaelHoward i might just wait until they are able to be sold. 25 xlt is 40k right now
This was a great truck when it was $25k. It’s still a really cool truck, just not as impressive for the price
no other car compares to it. thats why the price has gone up. 0 competition. great car,

Less power
More money
No thanks
Used to be 250hp. That's not right ford!
Honestly man
Thanks to the gas particulate filter they added to it for 2025. Less power, worse mileage, and more maintenance.
@@hellodrjeckyl can it be removed or will it ruin the emissions and you won’t be able to pass your smog?

2024 maverick is on stop sale for who knows how long.
I'd pay $35-$36k for a Maverick Tremor...but not for this.
Gosh that color is oof
This truck only makes sense as a hybrid
yep hybrid awd
35k?? 💀
it has packages added.
Way too much money for this junk. The price matched the quality when these were released, but Ford got greedy and overpriced them.
name one of truck hybrid at this price? lol you cant
