If a judge is giving a judgment on civil case / civil appeal , at that timr he is acting as diatrict judge
While on the other hand , if the matter is criminal in nature/ criminal appeal, at the time of the judgement he is acting as session judge

Session judge or district judge are the same person but when he adjudicate a civil case he act as district judge and when he adjudicate a criminal case he act as a session judge love from Pakistan

While dealing with criminal matters the judge is called as session judge and while dealing with civil matters the judge is called as district judge....

Session judge deals with matter relating to criminal in nature and it's appeal goes to HC and district judge deals with matters of civil while it's appeal also goes to HC

Whereas district judge is the judge of highest court in district I. E district court in civil cases
