    * There is an error in the video. Under the options for nitrogen I said bone meal instead of blood meal. Here is the recipe:
    You will want to measure by volume not weight.
    Nitrogen: 2 parts of cottonseed meal, feather meal, blood meal, bat guano, fish meal, or soybean meal.
    Phosphorus: 1 part bone meal, soft rock phosphate or crab shell meal
    Potassium: 1 part greensand, wood ashes, or sulfate of potash ( Sul-Po-Mag)
    Calcium: 1 part calcium carbonate (limestone) or dolomite (dolomitic limestone)
    Micronutrients and the rest of the macronutrients will be found in kelp meal: ½ part kelp meal

      Thank you!
      I'm not understanding what you mean by Volume not by weight. Would you please explain what that means.
      Always tried to grow Strawberries 🍓, but always fail. Mostly because I'm just started gardening. First year was an epic Fail! Second year got little vegetables, Third year learn from my mistakes and started spraying to Deter bugs ... much better yield... also started feeding with kelp and of course bone meal & Tomato fertilizer. At the end of the season learn about Agro liquid fertilizer for fruiting plants which is amazing!
      Trying to be conscious about chemicals & pesticides. Using neem oil & Sals Soap [Dr. Bronners] to get rid of bugs & learn if you put too much nitrogen in the fertilizer the bugs start attacking the plants
      Anyhow, the slugs are the only ones enjoying the few Strawberries that I do get.
      The Positive is:
      Gardening is so expensive! But, the good part is that one knows how delicious and pesticide free the food is.
      I've had good results with Cheery Tomatoes & Peppers like I mention above. I bought 3 Blueberry plants from Aldi ($8). I'm so glad I came across your channel. I want to get some fruit from these berries (Strawberries & Blueberries)
      Also like to ask, do you use yeast (some people on TH-cam swear by using this as a fertilizer) or recommend using this to fertilize plants?
      Thank you for taking the time to read and answer this, I sure appreciate you response.

      @@nz5752 By volume means that you will use something like a measuring cup as a measuring device.
      For just a couple of plants you might want to use something like 4 oz (1/2 c) as "one part," 8 oz as 2 parts, and 2 oz as "1/2 part," etc.

    Thank you so much for sharing this information. I am elderly with a small retirement income and only three plants I've just started so I appreciate being able to make the most of them. If I were younger and could afford the course I would definitely sign up.

    I had to dig up all my strawberry plants. Reasons:
    1: Mixed in some chopped up fall leaves into that soil plus some soil sulfur, Azomite, Bone meal.
    2) Raised bed was low on soil.
    3) Had to separate and re-space the plants.
    When the time comes I will use Alaska Fish Fertilizer,
    Won't mulch for a while yet.
    Extra strawberry plants I planted elsewhere on the property,
    I bought some box store strawberry roots to use in grow bags within a kiddie pool (have far too many pill bugs eating everything in sight).
    Haven't mixed that soil yet. Have to wait unfortunately.
    Note: On potted plants soil, I cook that soil to 204F to kill off bugs, eggs, and pathogens. I use the same mixing in that soil as I did above.
    I really DO cook the soil....

    This is very helpful! I've beeen using Trifecta Plus an organic fertilizer which is good for alot of things but I think may have a few things missing that strawberries need. My plants do produce fruit (some of the plants do), but it is often small and not very flavorful and it turns kind of dry and rust colored.

    Do you fertilize Everbearing strawberries after the last crop or just before the first frost?🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓

    • @TheLivingFarmPaonia
      @TheLivingFarmPaonia  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can do either. We feed our strawberry plants once a month while they are in production.

    The past several years you encouraged us to use “Happy Frog: Fruit and Flower” you now prefer this fertilizer?
    Question #2; in tomato fertilizer ,your recipe is similar to this,but for the nitrogen you recommend fish meal or bat dodo BUT NOT the Bone meal? Wonderful why the switch?

    • @TheLivingFarmPaonia
      @TheLivingFarmPaonia  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Linda, We have people all over the world watching and they don't have access to Happy Frog products. So I needed a recipe for those out of the Happy Frog area. I do still like the happy frog Fruit and Flower Fertilizer.
      Fish Meal and bat guano have a little bit more nitrogen then the bone meal.

    Mam why my strawberries are totally white inside...it smells good but it's tasteless and very mashy!

    • @TheLivingFarmPaonia
      @TheLivingFarmPaonia  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The plants probably need more nutrients. Calcium helps the berry to not be mushy. Trace minerals create the flavors.

    So academic.. we have no time for that..
