The K390 Endela is an absolute sweetheart of a knife. The factory second I got initially did not inspire me at all, so I used it as a tester for regrinding K390. But after I started customizing it, I realized how perfect its proportions are. It totally won me over, and now it's one of my all time favorites.

The Endela is a winner. I have carried the K390 version for about a year now and it works well. Rex45 and K390 have come to be my most carried steels these past couple years.
So glad Spyderco does their tool steels so nicely.

I have the k390 version of the Endella, Endura, and Stretch 2. I absolutely LOVE that steel. Got a lot of M4 as well, and no disrespect there. It's good stuff as well, but the K390 edges it out in my experience.

The downside for K390 is that it will rust… right now… and big nasty orange rust. Take good care of it!

K390 is the best steel on knives from Japan, hands down.

@@TheApostleP Yes, most of my favorite tool steels like M4, Rex45, and K390 will rust almost right before your eyes as you stare at them, I really like the combination of toughness and edge longevity that they offer. For that reason, I don't mind the extra care they require.

Well, is there a certain product you use to prevent rust because I’ve always used break free, I’m looking for something different, price kinda matters within reason.

@@TheApostleP oddly enough, my k390 ladybug is 5 months old living on my keychain and often gets wet in walks in the rain and so far not a spot of rust. I know it will rust, but not so far.

Rob, I believe that K390 is more similar to 10V.
K390 was developed as an alternative to Crucible’s CPM-10V according to Larrin Thomas.
I like K390 quite a lot. Thanks for the video! 😎👍

Delica 4 k390 is my #1. I even love the patina on the blade. Haven't pulled the 940 or 470-1 in a long while.

Isn't it rrue that Rex45 is the american version of the Hitachi HAP40 ? (or visceversa) Oh, by the way, I do believe that the enedela could be aprox the size of the stretch 2, am I wrong? Thanks for the review!! love the K390

Thanks Rob I haven’t bought a Spyderco yet and am trying to figure out what a good first one would be I’m leaning toward a Para 2 in One of the better grade steels
I carry a 940 knockoff in D2 and a mini Griptillian alternatively now with a selection of Case knives in a custom belt sheath
I would appreciate your input as I’m reall

You absolutely can’t go wrong with a Para 2, Terrill. Pick your favorite handle and steel combo and fire away! Also, throw that fake 940 in the garbage and buy a real one. The “ROB’S PICK” in tonight’s sale would be a good start 😉

It’s not a fake It’s a Bear and Son G10 Slide Lock folder in D2 I meant it looks and works just like my friend’s 940 but costs $82 and so works and sharpens like a champ I’m a 70 year old retired tool maker and pastor so I know a little about knives and steel and I wouldn’t lie to you I just misspoke about knockoff 940 I’m not into that Thanks for the help

Those MXG clips aren't long enough to reach the flat on the scale. In my experience that makes it chew up the inside of my pocket.

How is the strength of back locks in your opinion Rob?

    • @thaknobodi
      @thaknobodi 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Back locks are praised as some ofnthe most reliable working mans lock. Why you ask? Been carrying lock backs for years and im not even old. Have axis, compression, liners lock, theyre all good but back locks work especially with gloves on while compression locks are hard to dissengage with gloves.
