    You really helped me get this thing together, at 60 it's not actually my thing but I'm expanding my horizons.

    Ty ty. Watched a 6 min how to 3 times thinking I was good. Opened the box and went ya no. You were super detailed explaining every step and the orientation that everything needed to go. Made this super easy and I didn't real even have to pause. Mine came with a few different screws that yours but instructions in box got that covered for the new screw sizes. Fantastic video 10/10.

    This was very helpful! Many thanks.
    I especially appreciated the comments on leveling and on correcting "bed wobble."
    The LK5 is my first printer and between this video and your follow-on video (Longer 3D Printer Startup) I learned all I needed to know to get it working. Longer's assembly video is way out of date, apparently.

    Pretty cool, I got mine yesterday and was surprised how well the wheels on mine were tensioned on the rail. Another brand I've got two of that are really great quality are Sovol Sv01 and 02, can't believe how nice they come from the factory ready to rock

    to everyone building this with the DUAL BLOWER EXTRUDER, here are corrections:
    7:25 - you’ll need the 4x18 screws, not the 16
    8:57 - you’ll need the 4x30 screws, not the 20

    You might mention that when leveling the bed, clockwise rotation raises the bed and counterclockwise lowers it. Also, if you are lucky like I am, and you get a machine with the z-axis lock screw missing, it takes an M3-12mm. You won't hear ANYTHING from Longer support if you email them and ask for the size.

    Do you a detailed version of the hot end re-assembly? Also what do you do if your printer came without the z axis limit switch white tape?

      Other than changing the nozzle a few times, I've never had any reason to take it apart.

    I finally watched this do I could try and assemble mine. Big mistake. First its awkward sliding on the xaxis gantry since he talks about what is facing you(him) yet you're looking at it from the back, unless watching in a mirror it takes some thinking to figure orientation. Next he states incorrect bolts/screws to use several times. (READ INSTRUCTIONS, NOT WHAT HE STATES). This caused me to remove screws and redo some things. 7:38 he states wrong screws for the stepper motor. Instructions states M4*18 he sys M4*16, then to install gantry to base 9:06 he incorrectly states M5*20 but there are only 2 for the filament holder, you need the 4 M5x 30s. So take the audio with a grain of salt.

      Look underneath the screw nearest to the cable into the bed. I was just about to print mine when I checked, and it was already mounted on the screw but rotated pointing towards the middle of the table, completely hidden under its supports.

    1 last question i keep getting a problem where the filament taaangles, how do you personally deal with that.

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it is tangling on the spool, then you have a "cross-wrap" that needs to be sorted out. Dealt with this for many years working as an electrician and having spools of wire get a cross wrap in them. Very important that when you open a spool of filament to hold onto the tag end and not let it go wild or you may end up with a cross-wrap and a tangle.

      @@rogersshop I got it working and it's a great printer. But I woke up today tried to print, and I'm having trouble getting the first layer to stick... how important is ambient heat in the room. It was pretty chilly in the room I was attempting to print.

    Bought the Longer LK5 Pro 3d printer and it didn't work right out of the box. The Z axis would only go up but not down, wouldn't home and was doing strange things. So, I contacted Longer support to find out that my printer had a bad motherboard. Then they told me they would ship me a new motherboard and to fix it myself. I guess they got the name LONGER for it want work long but takes longer to get it fixed. I wouldn't trust anything with the brand name Longer on it. I have three other 3d printers from three different manufactures and have had no issues. Again, I wouldn't trust anything with the brand name Longer on it.
