Phillip the linkage arms coming down to the outer shift links are worn on my 1966 K20 with this trans. The pins on the ends are worn and the bushings are nearly gone. Any ideas on where to find parts? I’ve tried LMC and Summit and Rockauto all with no luck.
I have a 51 truck with three on the tree that looks a lot like this. I'm leaking from the side cover, I think from the shifter shafts. Are there seals in there that can be replaced
Nice video! Thanks! I have a short tail shaft one of these aswell as a long tail one, the short tail is a good working trans but I need a long tail for my application, do you know if I can simply remove the whole short tail assembly as you did and swap it with the long one as a whole???
I have a question. When I removed the extension case on mine, a whole bunch of bearing rollers fell out. Is this normal? What do they go to? I haven't completely taken mine apart yet, just want to know before I go any further. I've never worked on a transmission before.
It is normal that the roller are falling off. You need stick them on the shaft with some grease during assembly. Use a overhauling kit with new bearings, rollers and new seals. About how to place the rollers please refer to the shop manual

Where did you get the parts? I have to rebuild mine and I can’t find them

Check sec 4:29. you can see that there are seals on the shaft, replace these o-rings
What is the number of this transmission like what t5 etc? I have the same one I believe and looking for the correct floor shifter
That trany blows second gear syncros like crazy

I have a 52 Chevy Belair Deluxe. A buddy gave me this same tranny to try. Would this tranny match my 1952 tranny?

Where did you get those gaskets? They look better than the paper gaskets in most rebuild kits

Sorry I got no Video about that, but you can push your car forward or backwards to release the gear,
Im not sure why it happens but i pounded on the connecting knuckles where the shift rods leave the steering column and it comes out of lockup.

Did it come out of a ‘58 Chevy? It looks like the one in my Delray.
this one is from a 59 Chevy, probably the 58 did have the same but I do not know

Yes.. I do have a 68 chevy c10 with this transmission and it takes 20-50 gear oil
