The fact that the mother told the doctor she was only giving her baby formula and nothing else, she knew was she was doing was wrong. Even after medical advice, she refused to listen. OP should take his baby to his parents if she "wants him gone until she forgives him"

Sadly, I've know people like that, who don't see the irony of saying that someone is making them look bad by just stating undisputed facts, not in situations when those facts lack context or are being told to someone who doesn't have the perspective to understand them and thus sound worse than they are, but in situations that what makes the person look bad is just that someone else knows what they did. I always say "If the the plain truth makes you look bad, what does that tell you??"

Update on the first story via ops replies: wife has clearly been suffering from severe PPD or even psychosis! He says shes been sitting awake at night staring at the wall, and when he confronted her about everything and him taking the baby to his parents she absolutely flipped out screaming and babbling about them taking the baby away and kidnapping her, etc.. last reply reported that grandma had come to pick up the baby and wife had locked herself in the bathroom screaming and crying. Hopefully they can get her help but stories like this are a good reminder that not everyone who is the butthole in these stories is evil or malicious or entitled, but just needs serious help :( i hope she gets it and that the family can recover and move on together

The first story.. that hurts, when I was a baby (I don’t remember this my mom told me) my dad wouldn’t let my mom bottle feed me and she was barely making milk so I was starving to death. At my two week checkup, the doctor asked why I was losing weight, and my mom said because she wasn’t making enough milk. Doctor asked why she wasn’t bottle feeding and my mom just looked over at my dad. The doctor picked up on what was going on, took me out of the room, and came back with me in his arms, holding a bottle. He looked at my dad and said “there. Now you can’t blame you wife.” That man literally saved my life.

The first story reminds me of a news article I saw. Two parents got arrested because they were feeding their baby *potato* formula because they wanted it to be vegan like them. It nearly killed the baby because it didn’t provide sufficient nutrition for it. The worst part was that their baby’s doctor knew about their dietary needs and *prescribed a special vegan formula for the baby* so it would get the nutrition it needed while following dietary needs. The parents completely ignored this and just went ahead with potato formula anyway because I guess they thought they knew better. They didn’t and the baby could have died.

I hope so. I'm not trashing formula fed, but the natural food for any species of baby is milk made by another member of its own species. (Mother). Even herbivore mammals start off with mammal milk. Its body needs that to live. Substituting that with formula is ok, but the formula needs to have the same fats and nutrients. Vegetation isn't going to cut it. I swear these people are full on brainless. Its common sense.

If you need to question whether peace with your wife is more important than your baby screaming in pain every day you don't deserve children. Damn, this story makes me so mad. I have the same person in my life, my husband's mother would feed grapes to their 6 month old puppy (among other horrible things) because "dogs know what's good for them" despite being told multiple times that it's going to kill him. My husband finally flipped out and screamed at her until she caved in and promised not to do it again, only because she can't stand her son being mad at her and because he didn't take any of her bullshit anymore. He literally chanted "murdered" until she finally stopped talking over him. @Nintendo Gamer about the dog? Oh no, it's true and there's much more than just grapes she fed him. My mil is a horrible narcissist. I haven't talked to her directly for years now, I can't stand how she thinks she knows everything and everyone else is wrong, even when faced with facts. His parents were lonely and got a puppy from some facebook group ad when it was just 3 months old, which is already a big no no, it's too early to take them away from the mother. They let him climb up the stairs when you're not supposed to because the bones could deform, ignored our warnings that he could even fall and injure itself, they didn't buy any specialized puppy food, because she was convinced these dogs who don't have a breed are strong and can take anything so why waste money, and only pure bred dogs are sensitive to diseases, that they instinctively know what's good for them. They leave it alone in the house the majority of the day 10 hours or longer, they don't know how to play with it properly and they don't play enough, so he's already showing behavioral issues, like biting them in the face hard enough to draw blood, he has bit her nose while she was in bed and his father's ear already. They punish it physically by hitting him on the snout just because he, for example, chewed on the broom. My husband is also the non-confrintational type and I myself can't do anything as I already caused a massive rift by standing up to her years ago. Among the things she proudly admitted to feeding him was chocolate, cookies, steaks, chips and "look, he's fine isn't he, grapes have vitamins in it"! My husband found his bas balls and started screaming at her that she's a murderer, over and over and over again because she kept repeating that "it's fine". So yeah, after that she promised to feed him only the dog food but whether she's keeping that promise i have no idea, I don't believe it given our past. I bet the puppy will either die early or become mentally fucked up dog they'll give up for adoption when they won't be able to handle it anymore. Seriously, I could write a whole book if I put down every of her delusional beliefs and shit she has done in writing 😬

And the SIL couldn’t afford a babysitter? At minimum wage? Either their financial situation is really messed up that paying someone minimum wage would cause them to have to move back with parents or someone drastically blew their situation out of proportion. I know daycare is a lot more expensive but seriously babysitters aren’t that expensive, especially someone just starting.

Also the fact that she was able to take pictures withouth him noticing makes me think that either the windows were already reflective or he wasnt staring at her but rather in her general direction.
Also if u go on reddit op mentions that the house is some distance away and other redditors point out that at that distance it would be hard to peek in regardless of the reflectivity of the window.

@@vypa-bk1iy OP does say the neighbor looked away when they looked, so presumably they could see OP. But in that case, with the entire side of the house being glass and so close to the neighbor that area of the house is basically "outside" so far as reasonable expectations of privacy are concerned. The neighbors do have the right to look out their own window and if the inside of OP's house is half the view what does OP expect? And they should have discussed the issue like an adult rather than choosing the nuclear option straight away. The neighbor shouldn't be peeping if that's what's going on but it's an awful convenient pretext for OP to get the view AND the light AND the privacy AND make the neighbor deal with the downsides. Translucent window treatments and blinds are cheap and readily available.

I was listening to this while driving so didn't hear the comma in "sometimes I'll look up and see him, look away then look back minutes later and he's still looking." In that case, even less reason to think he's being nosy. The guy's probably just staring into space, lost in thought and not paying the slightest bit of attention to his neighbor's house. Or even just looking because, you know, if someone's going to put something in front of a 20' x 8 ' window aimed at your house it stands to reason they're okay with you seeing it. This isn't like someone going out of their way to look into a normal sized window.
In any case OP does say the window is 10-15' from the property line and close enough that swimmers in the neighbor's pool can easily see their own reflections. That's pretty close. Definitely way too close for 160 square feet of mirror.

I get up with our daughter as well but my wife is always awake. I assume she sleeps during the day while I’m at work.”
Update comment 1: “New development with her. I found her sitting in the bathroom floor and I told her I’m planning on packing to go to my moms. Told her I was taking Ava with me and she freaked out and said I was going to cause her to die because she needs the baby to be with her.
I asked her if she would go see a doctor in the next few days while the baby and I are visiting my parents. I told her I wouldn’t tell them that we had a fight and that after she talks to someone and realizes what she is doing then we will come home.
She started saying crazy things that my parents will try and take custody of the baby or if she tells the doctor “her thoughts” that they will take the baby and that she can’t be honest excuse she loves baby so much and afraid they will take her away.
What do I do aside from taking my daughter to my mother?”
Update 2: My mom just picked up the baby. My wife went ballistic. Screaming at me, my mom, told her she was kidnapping our daughter and she didn’t have her permission to take her.
She’s currently locked herself in the bathroom and I’m waiting for someone to come over. I called the crisis hotline and they are sending someone our way. She seems to be crying and also cussing me and telling me how awful of a husband and a father I am.

The wife is showing severe warning sighs of postpartum depression and psychosis. Symptoms often include extreme paranoia. In the comments on the post, OP talks about how scared he is and how out of character this is.
Chat recommended he take himself and baby to his parents, he did, and his wife had a meltdown and he called a helpline.
PPD and psychosis aren’t as uncommon as you think, but due to the stigma about mental illness they’re rarely talked about-meaning they often come unexpected and the victims and loved ones don’t know what to do.
Hopefully OP and his wife get the help they need. But as long as stuff like this is considered taboo or impolite, it will happen to others, and others may not be so lucky.

Babies aren't allowed to eat a lot and will still need formula milk or breastfeed milk. The mother is endangering the baby. If I was the husband, keep an eye on your wife or have someone watch her while you are at work.

About the wedding story, I went to a wedding when I was like 9 years old. I was extremely bored and wanted to leave ASAP. I can’t imagine what a two year old would have been like at a wedding. They should have either hired a babysitter or not gone because honestly most kids don’t really understand or like weddings.

If someone’s childcare is so valuable to you that you could loose your house without it I think you should at the bare minimum show them the respect of not calling the police on false charges. Even putting the morality aside if she lost her job as a result of those charges it’s unlikely she can could care for your kids leading to the exact same outcome for her. Even being selfish and only thinking about yourself she still chose the worst option.

Last story: people who want child free events typically understand that it may not work for everyone, but what I mean by that is someone may not come if they can’t arrange care either because of money or distance etc. so if you can’t arrange something the right thing to do is apologize and say you can’t come, not show up anyway. What if it was an adult themed wedding and you showed up with your kids? I have three kids and I’d never do this. I can’t understand people who act like they can’t be away from their children for a day. I find it’s just because they use their kids as an accomplishment, like their only way to validate themselves.

As a woman, even I can't understand the mentality of "I know what's best for OUR child." OP, as the father, has every right to demand that they feed the baby properly. The mentality that women know what's best for their baby is so stupid because parenting is meant to be a shared struggle with the co-parent, not just the person who had the baby. This whole story makes me so damn mad.

Child free weddings. Ehen I think of all the weddings I've gone to that I can remember in my 66yrs, that had kids present and then I think of the 3 that didn't have kids there. I think 'child' free weddings are great! The 'child free' weddings were so much better, more relaxing and enjoyable. No babies screaming/crying during the ceremony. No toddlers having meltdowns or tantrums. No young kids raising hell, wasting food, no kids tripping up adults. No parents chasing or yelling at kids. No one having to sit on the sidelines at tables keeping children occupied/amused while their spouse browsed, talked or visited others. Geeze, the drinking that goes on and the possible fights that happen. I've seen kids get tangled up in fights, knocked over, stepped on, landed on and hurt. Weddings for the greatest part are 'adult parties'. Why take children? Would parents take their kids out to celebrate at adult parties on New Years Eve? 12 to 14yrs old are a lot better behaved, less likely to cause problems and it's not necessary to keep a constant eye on. 16 and up, no problem. But leave the younger ones at home. They will appreciate it and adults will be able to enjoy themselves.

When he ejected them they'd call him a butthole because no one makes these kind of rules. You come to my house you obey my rules or I kick you the hell out. And I expect someone else to do the same with me. Except I don't break house rules. If I can't follow them, I wish them a good day and take my leave.

A friend at work was having trouble with a peeping tom. The guy was actually walking up to her house and looking into her windows at night when she was home. I took a piece of 1/2" plywood about 18" x 36". I drove 2" nails into the plywood, filling it up with them sticking points up 1 1/2" out of the plywood. She buried it under leaves at one window that had the shade up halfway. She closed the shades on all the other windows and waited. A couple of nights later she heard noises, and someone cursing and slamming around outside the window. The next morning, she found blood on the board and leaves. A day or so later, she saw the neighbor outside walking with crutches and with one foot bandaged up and off the ground. Nothing was ever said to her by either him or his wife.

I have a issue with parking spaces too, my neighbour's son insists in parking his car outside my house every single day. Our houses are tiny, when parking a car outside the house you block the entry to the house, my mom had to ask for him to move the car since she couldn't come in. We've told him to stop for a year now and I'm getting annoyed.

2:54 for those who don't know, apples have a small amount of natural acid, you don't notice it because of how little amount of acid is in it, I'm not making this up, there are other fruits that have natural acid in them like tomatoes, lemons, limes, even salt, can be acidic, but these are low enough for a young adult to properly digest, but not a two month old infant.

2:08 while I agree OP used a few choice words, I'd say it's completely justified, their child was crying and screaming because they're constipated from eating solid food at an age where they can digest properly yet, and why didn't she listen to the doctor (a health expert) and lie to their face, I think there are some peaces missing so who know what she's doing behind OP's back.
