  • The ethnic minority Rohingya Muslims suffer severe persecution in Myanmar. Following a deadly crackdown by the Burmese army in 2017, some 740,000 Rohingya fled to neighbouring Bangladesh, where they were settled in the southern town of Cox’s Bazar. Five years on, the town is home to the world’s largest and most dangerous refugee camp, with frequent floods, fires and gang wars. In December 2020, the Bangladeshi government decided to relocate some of the Rohingya refugees to a remote island in the Bay of Bengal. Our reporters Alban Alvarez and Mathilde Cusin managed to gain access to it.

If France have a problem with Rohingyas then Bangladesh is ready to sent them over as we as a Bangladeshi think from a human rights perspective that the Rohingyas will have a very quality life there and the situation for both countries will be Win-Win so, step up your game France for the betterment of the world👀♥️👍

I'd rather live on the island. Things are a lot nicer there. God bless the Bangladeshi for their generosity.

Bangladesh, with such a fragile economic status, still doing so much. I wonder why other (filthily) rich are not doing enough to get them uplifted from this poverty. Going back to Mynamar may not be right thing given the tensions being still alive !

Bdeshis can't stand 700 thousand ( 0.7 million) rohingyas who happen to be their own by ethnicity, religion and language, fleeing the deadly response of the Myanmarese.
Infact all these so called rohingyas are ppl from of Chittagong & Cox's bazaar of E. Bengal who migrated to Burma after 1865 at the instance of the British.
This hypocrisy is appalling considering that the 40 - 50 million Bdeshis who illegally infiltrated into India have to be absorbed by Indians while they aren't willing to take 700 thousand ( 0.7 million) of their own.

"Rohingyas migrated to Burma after 1865" is such a joke lmao, Rohingyas settled into Arakan (Rakhine) during the 7th Century and also if you're this concerned about these hypocrise then why are Rohingyas from India are coming to Bangladesh?? Rohingyas here are getting better treatment than an Average Bangladeshi is and they're using this opportunity to raise arms and act violent. There's a reason why Bangladesh Foreign Minister and the Government marked them as a National threat and aswell as a region threat to both India & Bangladesh.

They are not Bengali by ethnic group or language. Show the proof that there are almost 40-50 million Bangladeshis appearing in India. How hasn’t the government sent them back?

So why didn't the Bangladesh government build schools and a few factories to provide jobs for some refugees?
I'm not saying they haven't done anything but this clear there is much to be done.Unfortunately, billions of dollars of which a few millions could be used to help these people are being used to fight a war against Russia it's so sad😔😞

The country Bangladesh is the youngest in the south Asia, so when you say from Bangladesh it counts from 1971, before that it was east Pakistan. You can't blame someone for something when they are not even born.
