After watching your video and seeing your daughter’s reaction, I was sold. I turned the tv off, my wife sliced the onion, and I fired up the black stone griddle. My wife and I absolutely loved it! Sooooo delicious!
Always enjoy your videos and learn something too. I just got a table for my BGE so starting to explore all the accessories now that I have a place to store them. Definitely looking at a griddle.
if you do it on the griddle it helps getting a deeper crust, If a deeper crust than what he got is what you want you can apply some pressure when putting it on the griddle when pre-smashed it does the same thing. Personally I don't shoot for the top to be all dark crust, i prefer it how he got it.
What a fun video. You and your daughter make a great team. I think I would like the Flying Dutchman with onions for buns, but I would never attempt to eat it in public. 😅 Gonna give it a try and smash the burgers before putting them on the griddle. 👍
I really good tip you gave was smashing the burgers before you put them on the grill. I do believe it allows you to season all the meat. In a ball the center would not get seasoned!
Next time you’re at Publix, see if they have Martin’s potato buns, they’re the same ones Shake Shack uses. Delicious. Did you move or are you still in Coral Springs ?
You two are funny! I'd have to do without the onion - love them but have a huge intolerance to them. Haven't tried smash burgers yet but will this summer. I'm just not in to grilling outside in the winter.
This was my first time watching your channel. Caitlin was awesome! So many young ladies wouldn't go all in like she did. She was elbow deep in that amazing looking burger. Thanks for the assembly lesson. You guys rock. New subscriber.
You two are a class act! You can tell from the mess on your face's how good they are. I have to try this too. Do you think you would like a patty cooked directly over the charcoal better than the cast iron patty? Go to see you Kaitlyn and I hope you appear in more of your dad's video because you guys are a hoot.
Well,we made one of these over the coals but the griddle burgers both won out. Oh, and you have NO IDEA of how messy our faces got. LOL, it was a real mess.
Cap't Ron, I was thinking about you the other day cuz I haven't see a post in a while. These burgers look phenomenal. I have made several of your recipies. Yes, I buy FoGo at my local Ace Hardware where they give my dog treats. I'm going to fire up my Weber griddle plate and do these burgers. Thanks.
Great video, love the vibe with Kaitlyn. not sure why that burger went viral, it's a mess to eat. You can have all the same flavours with the bun (never grill smash burgers over open flame, you lose the crust and flavour from frying on the griddle in their own fat, and it will be much juicier, if you want low carbs, wrap in lettuce) I've always pre-smased my burgers as well, better control. the only burgers I grill over flame are thicker pub style burgers. Great job, always fun and informative.
Much better beef quality, and larger size than at In-N-Out . I suppose after couple bites, the Flying Dutchman becomes a fork and knife burger. I'll have to make me some of those.
The last time I tried something called "The Flying Dutchman", I needed a safeword. (POLARBEAR) As all three looked excellent, I most certainly will be doing the original!! And, Kaitlyn... I expect to see you out on the pump track on the Hoffman!! Tell the Captain to get that thing running!
Your daughter adds a great touch to the show. Very believable!
Thanks so much! I am blessed that she wants to do stuff like this with me. The best part? She can cook really well herself!
@@FOGOcharcoal then I want to see cooking collaboration between you two. Maybe a challenge would be fun!
You know what? I LOVE that idea!@@smokinjaws3310

Nice! I really like the half moon that I used here. There is a link below in the description if you would like to learn more about it.
This by far is one of your best & most entertaining videos. Your interaction with Kaitlyn was spot on. Good job. I really like all your videos.
Wow, thank you! I appreciate all of the kind words.
Holy Cow!! Looks delicious! I’ve never thought about smashing burgers before the griddle, great tip!
It's so good! I think I will be doing it this way from here on out

Ron, whats the Webber, where are the BGE's my friend. Love the back drop with the lake and your making me hungry.
Hey, thanks Robbie. I like to show cooking on some different grills from time to time. Variety is the slice of life.
oh yes thats fantastic, just thought you weren't associated with BGE anymore.

Thanks Mary! Yes, it could be a bit of a messy situation!

You are wise beyond your years John, and that's A LOT of years!!😋😍
This was not only fun but it was DELICIOUS!!!
Yes sir, we all want burgers now!
Captain Ron back to his old tricks! Good to see you guys having fun
Oh, we definitely have some fun around here
That looks so good and I have yet to perfect a lettuce wrap that doesn't fall apart or become soggy. Onion bun might be the way to go.
Tony, like we said at the end of the video, they were SO F**ing good!
I have been thinking of trying it but after watching I am going to make it tomorrow 👍.
Philip, I promise that you will not be disappointed
I was full from dinner, but now hungry after seeing this!!! Going to give this a try!!
That's the greatest compliment there is!
Fabulous! The low-carb version is appreciated!
Glad you like it!
Those burgers looked amazing! I love the jokes. Great video, as always.
Glad you like them! Thanks William!

Thanks for the tip! I am very familiar with Martin's. We love them. Yes, I moved and we are still n Coral Springs.
@@FOGOcharcoal. Great. Love the view on the lake. Congrats on the new place. Take care.

I can definitely understand that Carolyn. We actually have that here but it's because it gets too hot!!!
Those all look so good! That "onion bun" looks so messy. I think I would just use a bunch. You guys are punny!
LOL! we try to keep the good vibes rolling
Put it in parchment paper and it helps hold it together and is easier and less messy to pick up.

Thanks for subbing and welcome aboard! Oh, I rasied her so that she is not afraid to get her hands dirty! Or elbows or cheeks...lol Thanks Marc
Try a smash burger on kamado joe soapstone. I tried a flying dutchmen burger and I hated the sauce. Eating a cheese burger on onions is great.
Sounds like a great plan.

I can't think of a better way to get a big grease spot on a shirt! But it does seem worth it.

You would be correct in saying that Cap!

LOL HI! Thanks so much
I need one of those right now.
Which one?
@@FOGOcharcoal I'll take the in & out burger
