I thought that too, but I feel like GZ really sells it that Venom’s hypnotherapy was so extensive as it was. On one hand, having Hayter voice Boss at the end of the game would probably upset fans that he didn’t have “more.” On the other, they’re upset he WASN’T Big Boss, despite V literally being his brainwashed double. Ishmael at the start, despite being the real Boss, sounded just like Venom because (hear me out!) he was so brainwashed, he believed that was his subconscious. Ishmael even reinforces it by saying, “You’re talking to yourself.”

Its use is indeed exaggerated a bit in the game, but it’s a very real thing that has been used in the field. The balloon is not what sends the target flying up into the air and off to wherever the target location is. The ballon is actually snagged by an aircraft, usually an MC-130E Combat Talon I, in order to extract the target the balloon is attached to. The extraction of vehicles like an MRAP or an LAV-25 or some other armored vehicle is rather unrealistic, but the existence of the device and how it operates is very much grounded in reality.

I would of taken the bus but games cost a lot back then and all I had was enough to cover the sale, sales tax and ONE bus ride. On the bus ride home I opened the packaging and read the instruction booklet from cover to cover. I'm 48 now and still one of its biggest fans.

At that point, Konami had invested millions into MGSV and they were quite desperate to recuperate the investment into developing MGSV. So what we have today is certainly a conclusion to TPP, it's just short of some story details that Kojima had envisioned.
I wish they had a new game button on the title screen so everytime you want to restart you have to delete your saved data. With this new game button they could have made the tuxedo available for development, the ability to play as your avatar and possibly other things. But they made tuxedo a paid dlc and it was up to modders who were able to give the player their avatar after the prologue

I love MGS5 as the highlight of Metal Gear gameplay. Its MGS3 in a larger environment, with Peace Walkers toys. But the Venom Snake twist fell SO flat to me. You mean Eli didnt even actually meet his father? You mean Big Boss wasnt actually the greatest, legendary soldier? Someone else holds half of all his accomplishments? Cool. Thanks. I know Big Boss became an anti-hero for a lot of MGS fans, but he started off as the bad guy Solid Snake killed in Metal Gear 1, right? I may be in the minority here, but I don't like the body double thing. Felt like a copout to me. I think Kojima's original story was more poetic and just better, honestly.
I would have loved the twist if the reason he found out wasn't through magic tapes but instead connected to him realizing Paz was never real to begin with.

Those who have played through MGS4 knew that there was more than one "Big Boss." A body double was used to circumvent those who wished to use Big Boss' genetics for their own advantage. I refer you to the cutscene(s) after helping Eva escape on the motorcycle from MGS4. I'm sure that you know, the lengthy, detailed infused cutscene (s), where Ocelot overwhelmed the nano machines of the opposing force to devastating effects. He (Liquid/Ocelot) knew that losing the corpse didn't matter. I myself was looking forward to seeing why Big Boss was considered an enemy in . Hideo Kojima may have wanted to walk away from the series, well before this title, I can't help but think that he had a particular idea in mind for this reveal. Going back to MGS4 the body of "Big Boss" sinks into the river. It's irrelevant, we all chalked it up to Kojima messing with us, but now those of us who know the story, know that Venom Snake dies as a captive in plastic wrap in a river. And that begs me to ask, are you enjoying the series for your own personal development? Or are you covering the series for content to get views? I can only imagine what David Hayter would have to say to you at Hideo Kojimas' direction. This is not the first video of yours that covers the MGS series that I have watched, but it's the first video that made me angry enough to comment. I harbor no ill will towards yourself, I just don't like the lack of attention to detail. The series itself has changed over the years, but the influence, impact, and establishment of Big Boss hasn't. MGS has a lot of lessons, content, and ideas to explore.
