Well Nintendo has been hesitant to let anyone else touch thier IPs since the Zelda CDI games. Most of the stuff on this list are obviously parodies and ripoffs done without consent. I mean the Super Mario Bros live action movie discouraged another movie for almost 30 years.

It would be quite interesting to see if Toru Furuya reprises the voice of Mario in a Japanese dub for the upcoming Mario movie. As of now, there’s no Japanese dub in the teaser trailer for the upcoming movie and when there is a Japanese version, it’s only the English voice acting with Japanese subtitles.

I didn't even realize that Peter Cullen the same guy who voiced Optimus Prime did the Mario voice in the 1986 animated cartoon. My favorite probably Lou Albano I think he did a decent job.

I’m glad you shared the history of Mario’s voices. You actually went further back than I did in my video. I love the original voice I heard which was Lou Albano’s voice. That’s the voice Chris is honoring in the movie.
Anything other than the screechy Italian stereotype voice that he's had since the N64 days. But yeah Captain Lou was actually a really, really good Mario. The show was insipid but he fit the character like a glove.

Hell, he sounded like he was phoning it in. Mario is a video game icon as much as Mickey Mouse is in animation; hell would even raise within the fandom if Mickey does not have that iconic high pitch voice, so why cant Mario have the Italian/Brooklyn voice? I think he had a mustache too and was pretty much just Mario withoit his hat. Edit: actually I looked it up; he wasn't named Mario, but he was in character because he was playing Mario in a movie. Mario's voice was developing at a time and so are the mario lore as new games releasing until Charles Martinet made the iconic Italian speaking Mario. Tbh, one of my favourite Mario voice variant is the Italian American one from Super Mario Bros Super Show. As for Pratt, disappointed in his performance in the trailer but still optimistic.

Mario's voice was developing at a time and so are the mario lore as new games releasing until Charles Martinet made the iconic Italian speaking Mario. Tbh, one of my favourite Mario voice variant is the Italian American one from Super Mario Bros Super Show. As for Pratt, disappointed in his performance in the trailer but still optimistic.

@@mikeprado30 He didn’t sound that bad at all in the first trailer, in my opinion. People are way too judgmental about a slightly different Mario take.
