Thanks! Will definitely pick up Small Town Horror by Ronald Malfi. I am eagerly awaiting the publication of Paul Tremblays Horror Movie - 2024 seems to be a great year for horror
I'm excited for Horror Movie too! I didn't get an arc so I have to wait for the release date to read
I love vigilante justice served by antiheroes- Bad Men sounds good
Awesome reviews,Thank you! 👍
So many good and interesting books. Great video, as always! 🔪📚

Thank you for doing these review/recommendations!
In The Ruins, why didn’t they use the backpack full of tequila to make Molotov cocktails and destroy the huts? Just reread and it just didn’t sizzle this time. The people up the hill kind of just gave up.
I read it so long ago. I worry it won't hold up now
Nights edge sounds cool!
Ha- I inhale books- especially thrillers.
Yes!
I just started reading the Christina Henry book. Shame to hear that it has a weak ending. The series by Kelley Armstrong sounds amazing! I will definitely be checking them out. I did not like Hemlock Island by her but i read a YA series from her that i enjoyed, so who knows 🤷
Thank you!!
Hello there hey there
Put a couple of those on my TBR. Currently reading Chasing the Boogeyman. Library has Becoming...
Hope you're enjoying it
Tbr just grew
Great books
Great recommendations! Thank you!
Small Town Horror was so good, I immediately picked up Black Mouth for a re read. It was the first book of his I’ve read.
So glad you enjoyed it
I’ve been waiting to hear your thoughts on Small Town Horror by Ronald Malfi! Definitely reading it the day it’s released. You are my all time favorite book reviewer when it comes to Horror and Thrillers!✨✨
It's not my favourite Malfi but I thought it was solid
I enjoyed Small Town Horror quite a bit as well, it lagged a bit in the middle but the third act really saved it from being a three star and elevated it to four stars. I liked the ending.
I agree with you on The House That Horror Built, it was not my favorite. It felt like when all was said and done, not much had actually happened.
Agree on both books
I just discovered your channel. I’m currently reading Nestlings and hope to find some more great reads
Thanks!
Awesome as usual Rachel.
Thanks James

🕰️🧳
In the disturbing the dead did u watch all three in the series?? Do I need to read the first two or will it make sense with just that last one?
I'd recommend reading in order, just for the character development alone. All 3 books are great

Want to try some Malfi. Would you recommend Black Mouth or Small Town Horror (the two my local Waterstones have in stock)?
Hmm, of those two I preferred Small Town
@@TheShadesofOrange thanks...ended up buying both :)
Who is the author of 'The Rig' that's on the shelf behind you? I searched the title on goodreads but can't find it
Roger Levy
@@TheShadesofOrange Thanks
Great list of recommendations! I will be picking up Small Town Horror and the first of the Kelley Armstrong series. 📚
Great reviews! It can be overwhelming to choose which new releases to spend money on so this is very helpful!
❤🎉 and yesssssss on womb city-I’m 1/2 way thru
Sounds like you're enjoying it!
I keep hearing about Night's Edge. I have to check it out.
I’m gonna check out Disturbing the Dead. Sounds great. Awesome vid! 📚📚📚📚👍🏻
Thanks. Hope you enjoy it
Ooooo I have The House That Horror Built coming in the mail today! Yay!
I hope I like it! I read Near the Bone and thought it was really fun
Look forward to hearing what you think of it
Thank you for the overview of Night’s Edge. I got the feeling from the first couple of chapters it would be a more “slice of life” story. I tend to find those super boring, so I’ll just pass it on to on someone else. Thanks again! Great video as always!
Happy to help you make a decision on Night's Edge
I love the historical thrillers. I’ll have to check it out ❤
I love coming-of-age stories, so I will need to read Small Town Horror. Thank you for your review, Rachel.
Now I need to read the Kelley Armstrong series. It sounds SO good and fresh.
Hopefully the Kelley Armstrong series works for you. I got super obsessed 😅
Yeah, I was a little disappointed in The House that Horror Built. I liked it but I usually love her books. The Hunter's Daughter was a DNF for me. 🧡
Glad it to know it wasn't just me
I bought the Christina Henry book, solely because of the premise. Haven't read it yet. There's a slew of books coming out this year with a cross-media horror theme; it's as though publishers told authors that fiction about horror films was going to be big. In fairness in actual cinema, it's shaping up to be a great year for horror!
I'm a sucker for meta horror books so I can't complain haha
I don't think I've ever read anything by Ronald Malfi, but you have totally convinced me to dive in!
Yay
Thank you:)
🪐⭐️🪐 going to binge the disturbing the dead series 🪐⭐️🪐
Yay! I hope you love it as much as I do
😊😊😊
❤
Thanks, Rachel - great recommendations. I think I have read everything Kelley Armstrong has put out ... us Ontarions have to support each other!
I definitely need to read more of her backlist! and always happy to "meet" another Canadian
Oh definitely am heading over to the Womb City video right after this- it's one of my most anticipated releases this year and I can't wait to hear your thoughts. I haven't read Ronald Malfi yet, I know you've recommended him a few times and that this new book is one that you think could be a good starting place- is there one you'd recommend even more as the first book to read by him? I was considering Come With Me! 🔪🕮
Come With Me would be my recommendation as long as you enjoy more character driven/emotional stories. I loved it but it's less of a horror/ thrillers than some of his other books
