Hours of wheaty joy - Farming Simulator July

- I love harvesting wheat. Love it. It's just so peaceful. The field takes about 2 hours to completely harvest, and then you need to bail up the straw, turn over the topsoil... many hours of mindless trundling. Bliss!
You don't get to see that though. For as much as it makes me a cheery farmer, it doesn't exactly lend itself to thrilling videotronic entertainment.

All I can think about the starting harvester sequence is "this is why I never put anything away."
What a thumbnail! *chef's kiss*
Hey. Seeing you manuever that combine...reminds me of a story from 1966. My brother and I had Summer jobs at the local (large) farm. I detassled corn and suckered tobacco. My brother drove a pea viner. So...he was driving the viner and his boss was backing him up, giving directions. So...my brother took a wrong turn and the viner toppled into the ditch. Brother blamed his boss...and quit. I am thinking it was my brother's fault. Anyway. Ever seen a LARGE piece of equipment on it's side in a ditch? Not a pretty sight...and what it took to right it.
To my city boy ears, "detasseling corn", "suckering tobacco", and indeed a "pea viner" sound like the fantastical inventions of a hallucinating mind. I'm unconvinced this whole story wasn't some kind of fever dream. Lol
Trying to watch both images on screen made my eyes go funny. Well, funnier than they were before, at least. Having watched both separately, (like I should have done to begin with), I'm hoping my eyes before more serious as a result. I particularly liked the, 'jumps', of lifting and lowering the harvester blades, as you traversed over the parts you'd already harvested. Very stylish. The hay-bailing part wasn't quite as much fun due to the continual stopping and ejecting of said haybales. A distinct lack of continuity. But then, we can't have everything.
"Hours of wheaty joy" 🤣
Oh, just this title alone made me so happy
HarvestCam™ is a winner.
When FS 25 comes out you should do a first person only playthrough, while using your steering wheel.
You psychopath.
@@colonelfailure I've played like this a bit, first person and wheel, in FS19 I think. Was a blast, highly recommend.
I like the folding header mod. Only a couple sizes but its really handy
See you next year!
August+1 sounds like a plan, otherwise it’s just more of the same for another year isn’t it? Don’t get me wrong, I’d still watch 😂
The "Missing Year" trick seems to sort a lot of your issues around getting the railway done in time for the FarmSim sequel, so I say go for it - as long as it makes sense from a content-views ratio etc.
Alas, I can only imagine what the rest of the baling and then the bale pickup was like... I jest
Big Barley :)
Very clever pic-in-pic work Colonel and a very enjoyable show thanks!
Slapping a movie on while harvesting? Did you choose Field of Dreams or Children of the Corn?
A Field in England?
How hard could it be to pull a header trailer? Well... Entertaining as always!
"How hard can it be?"
Great video
Whoohoo, finally Farm Sim again!
I thought happiness was a cigar called hamlet. 🤔. Other cigars are available.
Got any wood for your sheep? Swheat episode Colonel...
Im sure this has been asked already, Im just being lazy and not scrolling my way through all the comments on the previous plethora of videos......
What map is this?
Muted while recording huh?.....
Havent we all, at some point or another.
Adverse Camber?. Not a terrible band, middle of the road....
Wastelands. It's fine but I wouldn't recommend it.
@@colonelfailure It looks okay, until 'someone' started terraforming it....
The terraforming is fine, heathen. It's more that there's no AI traffic, no inbuilt rail and some of the scenery is very awkwardly placed.
