This definitely shows the power of the second tc. He had one so early and viper just went full FH and Push and it simply wasnt deadly enough but i like the idea with the priests healing the elephants
Viper says it would surprise him if AOM passed AOE2 in eSports ... Does everybody agree? I think with God powers and different units this game gives a better eSports arena than AOE2 which gets married to specific metas for 80% of the civs. What are everybody's thoughts on why 1, or the other, will be the more popular eSport?
Overall I think AoM was more popular than AoE 2? RTS games were peaking around AoM release so potential audience is bigger as well. Long term surpassing AoE 2 audience gonna be hard, not many games has as rigid fanbase but short-term it should be more than doable.
@@andrzejnadgirl2029 That’s not true at all. Look up the copies sold figures for the original releases, it’s vastly in favor of AOE2. AOE2 also kept the AOE franchise alive mostly on its back after Microsoft pulled support for live during the dark ages before HD release. After HD, AOE2 got a few more expansions with the new team.
@@andrewlee6025 well, I'm always skeptical about offical numbers as in mine country only the richest folks back then could afford original games and 99% of people played bootleg copies. But nowadays things changed and there is money in the country, piracy is fairly obscure after we got wealthier. The scale of piracy in some regions was absolutely insane.
@@andrewlee6025 Well, AoM was released at the same year as WC3 so they do have a tough competitor. Plus MS really shot themselves in the foot with the Titan expansion

Viper there is a upgrade when you go anubis on the temple which make you can use the vision power for free, thats very good tho

AoM is definitely more fun to watch for casual players.
