Kofta curries are very popular in India, particularly in north India. The koftas are made using different vegetables such as bottle guard, cauliflower, cabbage, jackfruit etc. In this recipe I have made koftas using jackfruit and potatoes. This recipe video provides a step by step process of making kathal (jack-fruit) kofta curry, I have also provided tips to enhance the texture and taste of the curry.
Preparation time - 45 minutes
Serving - 6
Ingredients
Jackfruit (kathal)- 600 grams
Potato - 2
Onion -3
Tomato - 2
Ginger -2 inch
Garlic cloves -15 to 18
Gram flour (besan) - 1/4 cup
Green chilli -2
Coriander leaves -1/4 cup
Bay leaves -2
Cinnamon stick -2 inch
Black Cardamom - 1
Cumin seeds -1 tsp
Turmeric powder -1 tsp
Red chilli powder -2 tsp
Cumin powder -1 tsp
Coriander powder -1 tsp
Garam masala powder -2 tsp
Salt to taste
Cooking oil
Ghee -2 tbsp (optional)
