    If you're a fan of gee-whiz componentry, the new-generation NSX is truly a car made for you. Sporting one of the most advanced hybrid powertrains on the road.
    A trio of electric motors help to fill the torque gap created by the twin turbocharged 3.5-liter V6, producing a total of 573 hp, and 476 pound-feet of torque.
    The NSX has new bushings, along with many adjustments to the suspension designed to get the most out of its new rubber, Continental SportContact 6 tires. More importantly, the changes add something that was always lacking: personality.

    We have yet to drive the C8 Vette, but class of vehicle aside, which would rather own -- the NSX or the new C8, and why?

    • @msmoniz
      @msmoniz 5 ปีที่แล้ว +32

      Being a Honda guy since my first car, the NSX hamds down if money was no issue for me. But the reality is, with the new C8 Vette squarely going after the NSX, SF90 and the Huracan, these supercars may be in for a serious price adjustment soon, especially on the used market. On paper at least the C8 leaves them all behind in performance value for the money by a ridiculous distance.

    • @MusicByKhalilTV
      @MusicByKhalilTV 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @le m laugh at the C8 all you want, 0-60 in 2.9 is not matching a 12 second 1/4 any way shape or form, simple physics proves that it will be much lower, as far as the Z06 it will be well below 100K, the Zora will be in the 130K range and the Zo6 will murder the NSX, looking at potential 700 hp 700 + torque which still for the money and performance kills an NSX all day, we wont even Mention the Zora because 1000 hp at 130-150k will blow the NSX away on price point and performance any day of the week

      Seen both up close in person, the NSX is better looking on the exterior imo hands down. C8 interior has improved over the c7 but not as much as I'd hoped. I love love love vettes & the v8 sound will be much better over the NSX soundtrack. I do think the zo6 will be faster than the NSX so I'd take that price being equal. of course it's not but think the c8 will be like the old NSX.

      bobkilla430 most corvettes especially targa are very fragile chassis. I believe the Nm/deg was around 14,000Nm/deg of torsional rigidity. That’s not good they twist with more power and grip. The current C8s are bending under testing. Usually anything under 25,000 Nm/deg is deemed not competitive. If you’re just a street car it won’t matter much, bc more than likely you’re not bringing it to those limits, but none the less the targa will flex which is what the stingray will be a targa.

Reading from one expert from the vette forms he said anything in 10k-20k is good when on the track and I think said anything past 15k is diminishing returns on street cars on the track. What's been the issue for vettes on track at 10/10ths has been snap oversteer

    Interesting how haters hate simply bc subliminally they can't afford. If you work hard one day you will. Its way more advanced than the c8 and way more engineering, albeit c8 keeps it simple and old tech hence a lot cheaper. I've driven the z06 0-60 in 2.9 secs. I still prefer modern techs of a tesla. Corvettes feel rattling and cheap parts. Italian cars which I own, while not a good all arounder has the engine tune I enjoy but gets hate as well simple bc they cost more too. GM can do bigger scale to lower cost. Smaller companies and non mainstream cars just cost more to produce so cost more to buy as well.

      to pay for them ($50k over at minimum) and they’re all spoken for sad 😞

    People often complain about the price of this car. Saying that it's to expensive compared to it's predecessor. Well the original NSX was half price of the Ferrari F355. And give you 90% of it's performance. Now if you would look at the New Ferrari SF90 which is the like this Honda a four wheel drive twin turbo hybrid. This Honda gives you again 90% of the SF90 performance for less then half of it's price! So I would say this car was first in the new wave of hybrid super cars. McLaren said their new sport series model (570S replacement) will have a hybrid V6 turbo power unit as well. And suddenly the all the new hybrid sport amd supersport cars will be similar in weight and performance to the NSX. Yet I bet they will be all more expensive! And then this car will fainaly get the recognition it deserves. If I would be able to buy a super car today I would walk straight to a Honda dealer and get the new NSX and daily the s*it out of it! Grate review!

    Absolute performance was never the main issue people had with the NSX, it was the engine and the price tag that really drove people away.
    A fairly pedestrian V6 that doesn't really sound great, hybrid power-train and over 120K MSRP.
    If the NSX had a high-revving V8 with the power-train I think people would have flocked to the platform.

    • @BigHeadClan
      @BigHeadClan 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @le m As I said performance wasn't the main issue, also I'd love to see what videos your talking about where the Nsx is out running peoples fav super cars...

    • @BigHeadClan
      @BigHeadClan 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Open Ranks if the Nsx cost 50-60k sure most of those people would go away... But it's not, people expect something more exotic out of their engines when they are throwing down super car money.

    • @BigHeadClan
      @BigHeadClan 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @le m I don't need to search anything to know your full of it, the NSX traps 11.2 @ 126 MPH. Nearly every other car you listed does the 1/4 mile in the mid to high 10's and traps on average 10 mph faster....
      It ties the Nissan GT-R and the AMG GTs isn't the competitor for the NSX it's the GT R version...

    • @BigHeadClan
      @BigHeadClan 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @le m The GTR is 10 year old super car that starts life nearly 40K cheaper than a NSX. You also keep pointing to the Nismo version as if that means anything in a 1/4 mile run.... The Nismo version is about handling and track performance not speed. It's not any quicker in a strait line than the lower trim models.
      Congrats to the NSX though it's within margin of error of the GT-R a car that was the benchmark 5 years ago and overdue for replacement.
      Sooo should I even ask what happened to the other cars you listed?

    • @BigHeadClan
      @BigHeadClan 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @le m Yeah the GT-R is under tired and doesn't have the brakes to keep up... Which they just fixed in the 2020 model year, something people have been asking for for about 4 years.
      Again the NSX benchmark you keep coming back to is the GT-R and it started production in 2008... The 911 has gone through nearly 4 refreshes in that time frame for perspective.
      I will agree however that the GT-R pricing is wildly out of control.
      As for the rest of the cars you just listed you're clearly a fan boy and nothing more.
      No one cares about the GT-3 spec NSX, we are comparing stock entries vs stock entries. Oh and it's worth pointing out you are the person who made this about performance.
      You call me a child but your the own who can't defend any of the points and keep trying to point to unrelated examples as if they mean anything and are coming up with stupid names.
      Your not but a babe in his mothers arms as far as I'm concerned.
