- Two of the world’s most iconic singing groups-the Four Tops and the Temptations-performed their legendary Motown hits back-to-back during last September’s Hitsville Honors celebration, part of our Motown 60 Weekend!
I grew up 40 miles north of Detroit, as a teenager in 60's, was blessed to have watched all these great groups come into their own!! Loved it!!
The new groups aren't trying to replace the originals, because it can never be done, but they are preserving music from a time when music was about love and respecting it. These men can sing, we had the best in the fifties, sixties, seventies, and eighties, as far as good singers who sang LOVE songs and could truly sing, without being disrespectful, to themselves and women. It's refreshing to hear good quality lyrics, that isn't damaging to our spirits. Keep up the good work.

Truly a beautiful performance by shy Town brother Larry to Motown brother Otis. The theater was magnificent. And the men were truly amazing singing the great songs of the Temptation group since 1960. The Temps and the 4 Tops! this was my lovely Motown sound back in the 60's! Detroit AM radio played across to Cleveland, Ohio!!!! Leos Casino on Euclid Ave, , the Domino Bar on Prospect, the Versie Motor Inn, Euclid Ave. The best of friends, the best Blues and the Motown Sound in the 60's!

This was such a wonderful show for me this morning Friday 12th of March 2021.
Listening to The Four Tops and The Temptations in Michigan Theater was amazing and Fabulous. Each group made me feel glad to be alive this morning here in your beautiful voices and their bands playing behind them. The audience shows how much they still love their great vocalists and musicians. Nice to see Barry Gordon in the audience smiling down at both of them. I grew up on Motown, in Detroit. I saw the Temptations, Four Tops and other Motown legends , at the Motown Revue and other venues. Just because these two groups have one original member, in each of them, they are by no means the Temptations or the Four Tops. I would not spend my money to see them. I prefer to embrace the beautiful memories that I still have of the dynamic original groups.
I love Duke is keeping the 4 Tops alive! The best Motown Group that ever recorded! But Levi Stubs was the voice I miss so much! Thank you Duke for keeping the Tops alive!
Levi Stubbs, I didn’t grow up listening to you but as soon as I heard your first song I instantly loved it. I don’t even know how many smiles you put on people’s face but if I could give a guess you would probably have more money than Elon musk hahaha. With that being said I came to see your grave a few days ago and I’d like to just say thank you again for the amazing talent you showed us and for being a face for our city. R.I.P. Levi Stubbs I hope you and your group are having an amazing time up there in heaven as you use to back in the 60’s and 70’s, I hope that you are having those amazing concerts you use to play up there.

God bless them for keeping the music going. Be honest how many still here looking for Eddie, David.we still see Otis and the one that replaced Eddie. I loved both groups. The four tops only one original left. I bought the DVD of both groups. Hearing this music before I could walk.. Every now and then I pop in those DVDs and watch both music. God has the others in heaven we all remember the originals and the ones who replaced them. No disrespect ain't nothing like the real thing. I watch because I remember they way they dressed, those dance moves the temptations did. The four tops were good too. Don't you wish there was a button we could push, take us back in time..I'm glad see these guys still carrying on.. Habe heute erfahren dass diese Soul - Legenden bald in Deutschland auftreten. Ich bin dabei, entweder in Hamburg oder Düsseldorf. Großartig dass dieser Sound lebt. Eine musikalische Steigerung in diesem Genre gab und wird es nicht geben.

Who would’ve thought Otis, the founder, (though according to the movie, it was blue who arrange for Eddie and Paul to join them,) and did indeed had a smooth mellow voice, mostly just lend in on the harmony vocals, be last man standing. Keep going O! ❤👍👍👍

We're from Montreal and I'm happy to say we just saw the Temptations and the Four Tops again in December 2023 in Boston, for the fifth time since 1972. They are still terrific though certainly not the original members of course, except for the legendary Otis Williams of the Temptations. Concerts we attended for these fantistic groups were held in Montreal, Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Las Vegas and Medford (Boston). God bless them for all the wonderful memories we have of their music and live concerts.
Thank God Duke and Otis is still holding it down for there groups, they the OGs in there groups
It must be hard covering these hits from the glorious days of Motown as, unfotunately, comparisons to the wonderful original recordings and group members are bound to be made.

Well, the Temptations were great, but I think the Four Tops were the greatest. Motown was the greatest, and there were so many great groups. Of course, I loved the Supreme Supremes! (When I was a teenybopper, I was in love with all three of them.)

I grew up around this music my mom is 83 and my dad is 80
My father is a legend in Mississippi and it's like the people don't recognize them as legend.
I used to work at Disneyland as a .ride operator. After my shift I would watch them perform the whole week. And it wAs a nice pleasure to say Hello.
