    As a tricologist, would you be able to make a reel or video on how color protecting products work, if they even work, and recommendations you may have? I understand your hair is lighter, but for those of us that have darker shades of red or brown I’m curious to get information from someone with your wealth of knowledge. ❤

    Long time TT follower, and new YT follower. I’ve been binging your videos and they are so good. Are you doing a brush showdown soon? Did I dream that? I hope it’s coming!
    Also would love a trichology video about what hair looks like under a microscope when it is in different stages I.e. healthy, damaged, weak, protein overloaded/underloaded (lol), product buildup, etc. I feel like we hear so much about the state of hair and what to do from a practical perspective but something scientific and visual would be so fun.

      I am curious about this as well! But I will say, I have tried product lines she has recommended like the dove bond strength and the L’Oréal bond line and they work SO well for my virgin hair. I do use heat sometimes so I just don’t use the bond treatment every week, only once a month but the shampoo and conditioner are amazing! @@benistheproblem all of these products can also be used on virgin hair. The idea of “virgin hair” is only regarding whether it has been dyed. All hair is subject to damage just by everyday wear and tear. If you’ve ever worn your hair down or put it up in a ponytail, you have some amount of damage

      healthy virgin hair doesn't need lots of products. A simple wash, condition and if blow drying just a light leave in. Keep it simple. I use a light texture spray if I'm going to be curling my hair and want it to hold for a night out but most of the time just a simple leave in works fine. Try buying sample sizes of things till you find what you like.

    For a moment, I thought TH-cam had deleted my comment or taken down your video.
    Hey Abbey,
    I recently visited a dermatologist, and she informed me that my hair is genetically predisposed to damage, and there's little I can do about it. I'm struggling with hair thinning and severe breakage. I've observed that my hair breaks easily ( prematurely), and feels dry, straw-like, and frizzy. Interestingly, I've noticed that the inner parts of my hair and my baby's hair are softer and healthier than the outer parts. I've tried everything from high-end products to drugstore options, and I don't even use heat on my hair. At this point, I'm at a loss as to what the problem might be.
    ( just reposting my comment 😅)

    • @iah8331
      @iah8331 17 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

      Omg that's my hair! The underneath is soft, smooth, healthy, shiny, but the top layer is dry, frizzy, tangled, crispy, broken. I don't use heat either, and have tried everything!
      I do have hashimotos, low ferritin, low vitamin D, low B12, insulin resistance, a liver problem, and perimenopause. All of which cause hair problems.
      However, I don’t understand why all those things only cause problems on the top layer of my hair ?!

      Not sure if it’s helpful but when I spend time higher up in the mountains my hair used to get like this from UV damage. I just try to wear hats! That’s a very environmental factor though so I’m not sure it would apply to you.

    As some others I'm wondering how to integrate Living Proof Bond Repair and Color Wow.
    But my real question is: what other heat protection would you recommend to use on dry, color treated and wavy hair? I often do the blow out one day and the next day I go in with a straightener because my hair is frizzy and also I'm not very good at straightening them just with brush and hair drier.
    Thanks for all your great videos and cheers from Italy 😀

    Bumble and Bumble leave-in
    Pantene Miracle Rescue

Biggest waste of money for me. Unfortunately I bought the larger sized bottle and am stuck with it. Protein over load causes dry, brittle and dull hair. My hair feels softest/silkiest/lightest when it's freshly washed, and then as it gets dirtier it doesn't ever LOOK oily or dirty, it just gets rougher. I swear I could never wash it and it would never look oily/dirty, the texture would just get worse and worse. When my hair gets rough and dry, I try to add oil to it (like a little bit of the olaplex oil or bumble and bumble to the lengths and ends before bed) but it actually gets ROUGHER? No matter what I do, my hair ends up looking dry and damaged a few days after I wash it, but then when I wash it again it's restored. I've never seen anyone else talk about this, did you read about it in your trichology course and do you know what to do?

    I adore you, your videos and channel, but for the life of me, please tell me: how can a person who works out everyday like I do, mantain a haircare routine? Even with daily workout, I dont wash my hair everyday, I do it 2 times a week, one is a deep cleanse followed by a mask, the second cleanse is a gentle cleanser that has conditioning abilities. I use all Oribe and it works for me. Gold lust for the first cleanse plus the detox mousse, and the green gentle cleanser for the second cleanse. I have short hair and would like to put on something afterwards, but I feel it's useless as it comes off through sweat, and this increases the chances of getting acne. I would really appreciate it if you have any comments. My skin is oily and my scalp feels pretty healthy, but the hair itself could be way better. Oribe has been a game changer though.

      I just watched Abbey’s hair vlog video, so this info is from that: ! epres she uses as the first part of her pre-showering routine (which is followed by the pre-shower hair oiling), and she uses k18 in the shower after shampooing so that it can penetrate better on clean hair. Oh and she mentioned she does not do k18 on the same days she does hair oiling! Hope that helps! 💗

    One question I have is product-specific- In your video where you showed the lab results from different bond repair products, living proof came out basically at the bottom in terms of results. I assumed at the time that you may change your routine to exclude this product based on those findings, but obviously you haven't. I'm just wondering what about the product makes you feel you still need to use it. I know it does have some amount of heat protection itself, but just wanted to know. I tried it and didn't feel like it did anything for me personally

    • @AbbeyYung
      @AbbeyYung  19 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +3

      So the results from that video basically confirmed that there was no way to know for sure which treatment was best with SEM because you don't have the same exact starting point for each hair strand / product. The best way for brands to demonstrate bond repair efficacy is with tensile strength testing, which Living Proof has done! But the reason I kept it in my routine at that point is because of my personal experience / results with it.

      Not sure about that. Many women find their gray hair has changed in texture, density etc. than it was before turning gray. For example, they find their hair is now frizzier, drier, curlier, more difficult to manage etc.

      I find my hair is just as straight, fine and less damaged then when I was coloring it. However, maybe a little thinner and maybe a little more frizzy. I now use demi permanent color as it is very white. We smudge my roots (lavender or blue) and silver down the length to get rid of any yellowing.

It is now not rough to the touch but not as silky as before and dry after shampoo. It started to change when i was 10. Now im 18. So what do u think may have happened. Did my hair become more porous as i grew up or is it sebum related, my scalp might take ages to get greasy.
