@@randallmontejano7787 Whether the bar is bolted solid to the trailing arms (fixed) or mounted on the axle (adjustable), it would fix the problem. Comparing the 1st vs 2nd launches, I would guess that something broke either before or during the second launch. Based on how hard that car leaves the line, it should have a hefty bar under there. An air bag in the right rear would help too.
@@mikebruce17 thanks for the info I recently installed a rear sway bar on my 83 el camino and it still twists.....I was also thinking maybe replacing the stock trailing arm vs solid would fix the problem.
@@randallmontejano7787 You're welcome. Happy to help. If you don't mid me asking, what size and style bar did you install? also, any idea how much power are you making and what tires are you using? Assuming the bar is well matched to the car and your El Camino is a street/strip car rather than a full race car, you might want to use an air bag inside the right rear spring. I would look to the Air Lift brand. This would effectively allow you to have more resistance to twist when you want it (at the track) and have a normal ride on the street. Just inflate it when you get to the track. Summit Racing sells them for about $100. Upgraded trailing arms are great for putting more power to the ground. Even better when you are able to relocate (lower) the lower rear mounts. This won't necessarily help the twist. Actually, it could make it worse if you are able to put more power down.
That elco needs help I been and had a couple g body chevys and the g body shuffle is a real treat they work but with some money they wont kill you and they work great then
WHY is there always teams that have to have someone pretending to guide the car to the staging beams.I`ve raced cars and motorcycles and have never had to be guided into the beams..I just watched the lights on the tree..SMFH....
Perhaps, you just don't have any friends... jk Maybe you're just so good and take your abilities for granted. That's probably it! just one question? Is it lonely at the top?
@@outdoorvideos3825 Really, thats what you come with,a stupid reply like that. It`s awesome at the top,too bad you`ll never get there..Now go sit in the corner....
Because people want to be dramatic and get involved in a single person sport. It’s very annoying seeing someone with 1,000 people surrounding the car, the idiot dancing around “guiding” the car to the beams/center etc... you would think they’re a top fuel team by the size of their following. It’s truly laughable. It’s also very annoying because usually these types of people take 10 minutes to stage and the guys with true bracket cars don’t have the cooling capacity to sit and idle for 10mins while the idiots line their car up and bump stage and crap, pegging the temperature gauge. This kind of behavior would get you into a fight in the pits of real bracket events. Do your burnout, not top fuel 1/8 mile down the track, line the car up, courtesy stage, purge the nitrous maybe once (not the full bottle like most in this video) and GO!
@@jackthompson1382 Finally someone that GETS IT....I HAVE raced just by myself..And I`ve raced with helper`s..It is nice to have someone pick a sticky spot on the starting live when I was raving motorcycles, but it was`nt imperative. Can fixed/solid sway bar fix that problem or does it have to be adjustable?
