Hi John, I was speaking to someone who shot pots out of Nairn harbour in Scotland. He too had issues with scumbags lifting his pots. He put a laminated note in the last pot that read “Thank you for lifting my pots. What you do not know is that somewhere in the string of pots is a tracker. By the time you have read this note I will have been notified that they have been lifted to the surface, the time they were lifted, and if you have AIS, the person who lifted the pots. I look forward to meeting you at your home port, either with the constabulary or a group of my friends who will be happy to educate you”. It worked even though it was a bluff.

Yeah best off reflecting on the positives out of this one John , some cracking edibles in the end mate, look forward to Jim’s fantastic magic in the kitchen. genuinely appreciate your efforts as always bud👍🏼
James...One thing you definitely need is a small winch to pull the pots. I know they have to be heavy because you've got some arms on you and you still struggle. That would kill me and take all the fun out of it. Also, it's so rewarding to see someone with integrity that has the vested interest in the sea and its creatures. I'm not sure how many people would throw back their catch if it was a millimeter or two to small. I think that is evidenced by the thieves who stole your catch. They need a lesson that will teach them the consequences of doing that and I don't mean a fine...something a bit more physical! That's where those big arms would come in handy. Be safe and best wishes!
nice one John another brilliant video and I love the knowledge you have on the catch... Sorry to see the scumbags stealing your catch... keep up the good work... tightlines Cheers Nick
As usual..on point! I learn so much watching your approach to your trade, both about the creatures themselves and the environmental care you take. Sorry to hear about the thieves...always around somewhere it seems wherever you go. Thank you!
The positives are the filming, the explanations, and the effort you put in to keeping your viewers entertained. The negatives are the thieves that just ruin what you endeavor to bring us. I hope one day you catch up with them. I thought it was tourists but at this time of year I think you must be right in your assumption. Don't let the b******s get you down.
Oh dear. My mouth is already watering at the prospect of Jim giving a masterclass in dressing crab with one of those beauties, as well as an alternative way of serving crab butter rather than simply on very fresh baked bread. I would happily kill for both methods but new info is never wasted from your site John. Something tells me Hannah already has one or two in her sights...

I also assume that the perpetrator is also disregarding rules and size limits. You probably would have happily have given someone in need what was in the pots. It's how violated it makes you feel. Well, I'm sorry to open my first communication to you on a ugly first note. I total enjoy your videos, so much I subscribed and hit the notification button (bell). I dread to think what those claws could do. Once, rockpooling at Whitley Bay with the kids I decided to winkle a little shore crab out of a hole by letting it grab my thumb. This worked like a charm, it was about two inches across (if that) and it REALLY HURT.

You are such a blessing Fish Locker. ❤ love your videos. Always happy to see that warm smile of yours 😊💋 CHEERS👋🏻
I learn something new every video I watch. You are so informational and a joy to watch 😊
It is our pleasure to share our videos and adventures with you.
Great video John, don't let them defeat you! You're using the wrong bait! A couple of ancillary items on the draw line intermittently placed catches the unsuspecting. 🤩
A couple of incediaries would work better. 🤣
Thanks John, another wonderful film. Your ethics and work ethos are such an inspiration. Keep smiling through these adversities. The culprits will most likely realise their wrongdoing at some point in their life and the remorse they feel will be punishment enough. I loved your latest film about fishing for blue sharks. The water was so calm, with a lovely swell that reminded me of my fishing days with my father and brother on the Firth of Clyde....many moons ago
I am glad that you enjoy joining us on our adventures Brian. Take care mate and stay safe. 😊👍🏻
I’m with you my man…
Bloody pirates.
You’re an inspiration
Make them walk the plank.
Another delightful video full of smiles and informative narration on your fine boat John. Glad to see that you managed a reasonable haul of target species despite the low lifes, hopefully they will get their comeuppance one day. Thanks for all your hard work in putting these videos out.
These things have a way of balancing out mate. 👍🏻
yay another potting video and right before i watch this itd always lovely to see you having fun.
Thank you.
'Out on the boat ' videos are great, but we all don't have a boat. I'd love to see more shore fishing videos.
When I can I will. 👍🏻🎣
A crackin' haul John albeit marred by the obvious, I really hope you catch who did it and treat them to a session with the "Baseball bat of justice", thanks for sharing 👍🎣
The best kind of justice. 🤣
It would be nice to find them & show their hull a cordless drill.
@@georgebowden6748- I like your thinking!
Always learning from you John! Yeah, it really sucks that people do not respect other people's property (and catch) and resort to stealing. You're a better man for shrugging it off your shoulders, but theft is still theft! Cheers to you mate! We enjoy your videos Sir!
Take care bud. 👍🏻🦀🦞
Fantastic video again Mr Locker and a credit to you’re community you are a gem indeed. My partner and I were talking about you’re last robbery and I think you were wanting to say more but you’re wee man was with you back then this time you needed to say exactly what was needed you have a family to provide for and yes you’re pots are an extra for us viewers to enjoy as an added bonus. I hope you do catch them if you do can you give us all an update please if possible as always much ❤ Stewart and Wendy xx
Thank you very much. If we do catch the offenders and get it on camera you guys will see it.
@@TheFishLocker then you will have all of us as whitnesses a camera works wonders can’t wait for you’re next outing ☺️🥰❤️
A great video again John, unfortunately there are scumbags worldwide like those who felt they could profit from two serious cyber data breaches here in Australia. No one is safe from these 'low life creatures'. On the +ve side, a pretty good result from your crab exercise & typically relaxing listening to you & your fabulous knowledge that you so happily share & the way you take great care to conserve nature. Well done mate, cheers from Don in South Aust.
It’s disappointing about society when things like this happen isn’t it. I hope you are well mate and take care. 😊👍🏻🦀
I love the new camera…so clear, less glare, great color! Makes me feel like I am there!
Thank you.
It says a lot about a Person who would do that !
Your the bigger man then him 👍
Great channel love watching it each week !! Keep up is fantastic work on your channel.. 👏
Thank you Graham. 😊👍🏻
OMG, the way he tosses them back in the water! I can almost hear the 'WEEE' 😂🤣😂
Haha. “Weeeee…… splosh”
My late father used to take us out when we were little on a Sunday trip to visit a friend on the North Norfolk coast who had a shellfish business and we would bring home some very tasty Crabs ,cockles and Samphire . Best Sundays teatime treats we had Lovely memories .He would have loved your videos !!
Ooow, cockles and Samphire. 👌🏻
Yeh the Norfolk coast is brilliant for prawns as well. My uncle used too take me and my brother shellfish fishing when we were kids and we used too catch loads. Not sure what it’s like now though..
Lovely video John always appreciated take care Steve
Cheers Steve. 😊👍🏻
Love watching you from here in the States and learning about fishing and beautiful Cornwall. Thank you for all that you do. Sorry not everyone has the class of you and your family. Cheers.
Thank you so much. I am glad that you enjoy joining us. 😊🦀🦞
That was the exact feeling I was having aswell John - that someone watching your videos were going for them.
Scumbags. 🤷🏻♂️😡
You have such respect for the rules of fishing crabs and lobster, you're a gentleman and you lead a fine example of how to do this the right way. P.S your shows make me hungry every time for what you've caught. We have just fresh lake fish where I live and I crave ocean seafood 😋
I’m glad that you enjoy joining us Julie. Have a lovely day. 🦀🦞
All you can do in life is keep your side of the street cleen John. Thanks for putting out informative quality videos on TH-cam keep up the good work fella
That’s a very good way of looking at it mate.
John don't let those steeling aholes make you stop hauling pots. Most of us very much enjoy seeing what's in those pots. Catch the steelers and keep going.
That’s the plan.
The shot is beautiful and cristal clear
Thank you.
Thanks again for the fun and educational video! Love how you explain everything. My two sons are now avid watchers of your channel and we have fun discussing what we learned and what our favorite catch was. All my best to you and your family!!
That is wonderful, I am happy to share what I know with you guys. 🦀🦞🎣
I come here to see the kind smile and the sea teachings, I stay for the pleasant attitude and the seafood!
You are always welcome Cindy. 😊🦀🦞
thanks again John for another great video, some cracking crabs.
After following your videos for a couple of years now, I get quite upset when seeing your pot's being robbed but love the way you'll always finish on a positive note, hat's off Sir & looking forward to a Spargo cook up,
Not about to let some shit head ruin my day mate. 😉🦀
So sad and out of order someone's lifted up your pots John. We can all see how hard you work and what a inspiring person you are. I'd be pissed mate too. All the best I'm down that way next week can't wait too have a mooch around the rocks and hopefully get out too see. Keep up the amazing work. And if your watching and you lifted his pots get a life of your own
If you see me out and about be sure to say hello. 😊👍🏻
Will do for sure 👍
Yeah best off reflecting on the positives out of this one John , some cracking edibles in the end mate, look forward to Jim’s fantastic magic in the kitchen. genuinely appreciate your efforts as always bud👍🏼
Video inbound. 😉🦀🦀🦀
The highlight of my day when I receive notifications that your videos are up 🥹
That’s so sweet. 😊
You had me dead when you just lobbed the spider crsb off the boat like that 🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀
Haha. They love it. 🤣🦀
A winch and hauler would ruin the boat and it’s balance. It’s a fishing boat I work pots from. Not a potting boat that I fish from. 😉
Nice show always ,i like the most when your father in law cook, take care stay safe
Jim is wonderful isn’t he. 😊
Makes us so MAD that some scumbag would steal out of your pots! Here’s hoping you catch them! We really enjoy your videos!
Thank you Judy. 😊🦀🦞
specially like seeing you 'know what you are doing' John😉😆
😬🦀🦞👍🏻
Good haul there John. Education and enjoyment in one package, aside from the obvious. Allways good videos. 👍
Cheers Lee.
Alway like seeing what your up to. Really like the way you let us know what your doing and why. I seem to learn something new every time.
I am simply sharing what I love doing in the hope it helps folks somehow. 😊👍🏻
nice one John another brilliant video and I love the knowledge you have on the catch... Sorry to see the scumbags stealing your catch... keep up the good work... tightlines
Cheers Nick
Thank you Nick. 😊👍🏻
A lobster and crab claw pressure force test would be great xd. Love the quality content mate
I’ll have a think on how we can do that.
LOL, that mini-lobster would probably have loved to be taken home with you and kept in an aquarium...so long as it wasn't in Jim's kitchen! 😆🦞
Haha. 🦞
Great content as always. I admire your restraint I would have gone on a major expletive driven rant had something like that happened to me.
There is no point letting some low life like that spoil your day.
@@TheFishLocker ...it's also what the editing room is for. Those people make my blood boil.
As usual..on point! I learn so much watching your approach to your trade, both about the creatures themselves and the environmental care you take. Sorry to hear about the thieves...always around somewhere it seems wherever you go. Thank you!
Sadly they are JJ. It’s just the world we live in.
Another great one John!
Thanks for taking us with you dude.
My pleasure mate. 👍🏻🦞
Beautiful 😍 crab 🦀 oh my God , enjoy your fishing 🎣.
Thank you sir. 😊🦀
John. Your knowledge of the oceans is very pleasing. As an uncle i introduced my nephew to the shoreline etc. Fabulous channel. 🙏🏻
Good for you Ric, it is a wonderful thing to be able to share that type of knowledge with someone.
I feel for you, thieves make life difficult. We appreciate yourefforts.
Thank you Raymond 😊👍🏻
The positives are the filming, the explanations, and the effort you put in to keeping your viewers entertained. The negatives are the thieves that just ruin what you endeavor to bring us. I hope one day you catch up with them. I thought it was tourists but at this time of year I think you must be right in your assumption. Don't let the b******s get you down.
It is worst during tourist season, but this is locals.
Cracking video again John , It's only a matter of time before you bump into the pond life who are stealing from your pots.👍
It’s a small community around here. They’ll get found out.
Aye you’re right mate.
You were in such a good mood as well . . . Let's hope that 'whoever is responsible' doesn't accidentally fall overboard and drown!
That would be such a shame.
Is it just luck, or the lack of it, or something more malign. It was the same string of pots both times.
Video now live. 👍🏻🦀
Another awesome video mate, I Hope you catch the pot thief’s, karma will hopefully play it’s part mate. Keep your head up your videos are Amazing and over the last few years I’ve learned so much regarding rigs, tackle and general wildlife info which is really interesting ! 🙏🏼 👍🏼🎣
Thank you very much. I am really happy that the videos have been helpful to you.
It's total from harvesting to the dinner plate. Funny how I need to snack during your "cook" portion of the videos. It's shear comfort food. Across the pond, we enjoy our New England clam bakes, low country boils from South Carolina and our beloved lobster rolls. It would be very enjoyable to see your spin on it. I commend you on your moral compass and sense of fair play, I wish you and your family the grace of God, happiness and good health. I'm "hooked" on the Fish Locker.👍👍
Thank you Sir. We have a few videos like that already in our catch and cook playlist. Lobster rolls - which I am unsure if we did correctly but several clam bakes and bisques. They are delicious. Best wishes to you and your family sir and take care. 😊👍🏻🦞🦀
Good to see you're still hauling it in over there. I know I just recently saw Alaska canceled it's snow crab harvest this year for the first time after a huge population decline from warming waters, and after previous king crab harvest cancelations too. Not looking so good 😕
I just read that today too. Good that they are being proactive like that.
That’s a shame too hear their numbers are down. Especially for the Alaskan folk where fishing is a way of life for many..
I hope you find whoever it is, if you haven't already!! Thank you for your videos and I hope those thieves don't try again.
It’s a small community around here. People get found out soon enough. 😉
Lovely video as always, don't let them get to you! 🦀🦞
We don’t
Great Video thanks, Would be satisfying Camping out on the Shore line watching the little darling's interfere with your pots & catching up with them in the Harbour. Looking forward to your next Video on cooking crab, Thanks again Pete
Best watching them with a rifle. 😉🤣
Love how gentle you were with the mother lobsters❤
And I hope those grimy thieves choked on a crab!
Haha. That would be good justice.
Thanks team for another wonderful video
It is our pleasure. 😊🦀🦞
I dread to think what those claws could do. Once, rockpooling at Whitley Bay with the kids I decided to winkle a little shore crab out of a hole by letting it grab my thumb. This worked like a charm, it was about two inches across (if that) and it REALLY HURT.
Oh yeah, they pack a mean pinch even when they’re small. 🤣🦀
Can you please film when you catch the scumbags, that's something I would love to see..
Great video again John😁
I have a feeling it would only incriminate me.
The scun bag's around should be ashamed of themselves!
Your videos are priceless for me in the United States...
My Dad was the first one born here from your County...
It's why I love your channel...
Remind's me of stories from over the pond...
Thanks for your channel 😊
It is our pleasure Julie. We are simply sharing what we love doing. 😊🦀
Grafting again pal!....
Time for a little shore reconnaissance I think.....
Maybe not today...maybe not next week, but 1 things for sure there luck will run out and when it does god help em buddy!.....
I've learnt more about lobster and crab from your videos than I'd have ever learnt from any other source.
That goes for all your salt angling, whether it be on the boat or on land.
👍👍👍👍
I am glad that I could share a little about what I love doing with you mate. 🦀🎣😊👍🏻
You need an organised “Pot watch” like Neighbourhood Watch between yourselves to catch the thieves and then some naming, shaming and retribution.
I would suggest keelhauling followed by sinking their boat.
A pot watch with a rifle. 👍🏻👍🏻
John I’m so sorry about your pots. Thievery is the most frustrating thing. I hope you catch them. 😊
Me too.
Love your videos like always 💚💚
Thank you. 😊
Another lovely day down where you is it’s just brilliant to watch, part from when the local TOSSERS chored the contents of your 2nd string would offer my help if you find em but I rekon you can handle them all fella, just don’t hurt em to bad mate. Proper loving your vids as I can spot a male edible crab as you open the door! Many thanks John
Thanks for the offer mate. But I dare say they’ll get what’s coming. 😉🦀🦞
Put a GoPro in one of the pots to see if you can try to record the pot thieves. If not then you can always get some good footage of what happens in a pot. Great video as always John 👍🏼🦀🦞
And what happens when they pull it up and take the GoPro? Come on Dom, use your noodle. 😉
@@TheFishLocker free gopro for the thieves lmao
@@TheFishLocker I think a grenade disguised as a crustacean would be the way forward.
Hope to see the cooking. Just to see Jim work his arts in the kitchen!!!!And I’m curious as to what he will make. Nice haul!
Thanks Greg.
Another great vid! I want to see you do more cooking.
Wait and see.
Best of luck finding the leeches. Great video.

Great video buddy, well done on keeping your cool after discovering there'd be a busy tea leaf. All I can say is that it's be interesting if we found out who it was, sure they'd be plenty who'd enjoy a quiet chat.
They’ll get found out.
Brilliant video, John! Am looking forward to a cooking video if there’s one 🙂 and a beach cook up soon if the weather permits!
We are all just waiting on the weather.
Well I heard Spargo's kitchen is always open... 😅
Is there enough good weather time for another beach campout with James too?
I lived in Cornwall for a year, in Camelford, in 1985-86. Unfortunately we never went fishing. I wish. This looks so amazing.
You really missed out.
Enjoyed it as always thanks John. I still like to think that there are lots more good people than bad. Keep up the good work and conservation messages.
I am sure of it.
I’m very disappointed that scumbags are plundering your pots and I really appreciate how even though it’s like a kick in the gut, you reign in your emotions on camera. I’m sorry for the boogers who are doing this to you! Great commentary! Keep it up!❤❤
No point letting some A hole ruin my day is there. 😊👍🏻🦀
Calm sea love the up close view of the catch
I am glad you enjoy the video
Love your vlogs & always learn something new..So sorry though tht there’s some scumbags pulling your pots
Sadly Tracy they are in every walk of life.
I was typing a question about the v notching…but then you spoke about it! I’m learning…slowly! 😂
😉🦞🦀
Sorry to hear about the poachers John! Looks like next video will be a cooking video!
😉🦀
Aye John. You certainly proved that you know what your doing, especially when it comes to catching crabs or lobsters. My Dad used to make a lovely dressed crab, I certainly hope you have a strong word with the theiving scroat that keeps raiding your pots too.
Thanks Mickey, all the best mate. 👍🏻🦀
I feel your frustration with the low life messing with your pots, I know I would be fuming... sadly this is the mentality of people in this country that we live in and it's not getting any better, I'd like to hope you find out who it is so you can "have a word with them", I just hope you continue to film yourself pulling your pots because I enjoy watching these videos the most... I know many would go home and think "why do I bother" because its not just your time and the money running the boat, but it's the extra time you spend editing your videos once you get home.. I for one appreciate greatly...
It’s frustrating but they won’t stop me doing what I love.
I’m so sorry that your pots keep getting pinched. I’m astounded at how you keep so calm.
I’m not about to let some A hole ruin my mood and my day.
