I love their chemistry. Fumi looks stunning and graceful as always, but the little moments of eye contact and smiles shared between William and Fumi are what make this performance so outstanding and magical! I wish it was a video of the whole Pas de Deux...
The musicality is amazing and Fumi has a lovely continuous movement throughout and elegance and William is equally elegant and graceful lovely balletic pair
Watching this made me realise how attentive William is as a partner. Fumi is a gorgeous Sugar Plum Fairy of course but William enhances this by looking at her with an almost stunned look at her beautiful dancing which really suits the roles. The cavelier would obviously appreciate the perfection of the Sugar Plum confection and this pairing really shows it.
How gorgeous they are !!! I didn't even realize cavalier was Bracewell since he looked movie star beautiful. He already is handsome but I'd never seen him this beautiful. Stunning pair with stanning grace ROH tradition.
Lovely pairing joining their clean, elegant, sharp lines together in the past de deux. As for Bracewell, yes in ballet history and today, there are always a number of male ballerinas who are the example and definition of strength and grace, but Bracewell has something more of his own: an adonis factor, Greek statue, without him sacrificing the delicate elegance and strength formula of male ballerina. Bravo to these two great ballet ambassadors who are born for The Nutcracker.
Most of the time during the sugar plum PDD I am only watching the ballerina. But William’s natural acting and the eye contact he makes sure to have with Fumi reminds me that PDD is an interaction between the two dancers. The superb acting skills of Sissens as Hans Peter and Bracewell as the Sugar Plum Prince put this production over the top!
Yes I was watching an older released one with Jonathan Cope whom I admire, and his Prince was technically competent but extremely perfunctory. He had no connection with his Princess (I think she was a guest Principal, but it did feel like he was going through the motions). They are improving the acting of their dancers all the time now.
@@elainejohnson796 They are! I like that they're bringing back some former principals to coach who were also very talented actors. I think Bussell coached Fumi and William for this one. Zenaida also did a wonderful job coaching Fumi for swan lake.
Agreed. I really enjoyed William's performance here. It really adds a lot to the dance when the male partner emotes back. I really hope that they add this to their stream channel or makes a blue ray for sale. I watched their 2016 performance they have on their stream service. While it was a good performance, I think this pairing of William and Fumi for the grand pas is one of my favorites I have seen so far.
With all respect, but I think it's no time for Chaikovsky or any Russian in culture for the time of the war, at least. I'm sure humanity has composed something for winter holidays that is not Russian
WTF? So now everyone must hate someone? And Tchaikovsky is dead. War is stupid, and the powerfull people whom have benefit from them try to make you think you are a patriotic. If I'm gonna hate someone they will be that kind of people, people who likes war.
@@kotulkin It really is petty and small-minded to try to boycott anything Russian from history when they have produced such wonderful cultural offerings.
@@CutiePieSweetz yes, that’s wonderful, thank you 🙏🏾 but it does not include live performances. I went to a live show of one of my favourite artists in New York this year and remained at home in New Zealand. That’s what technology can do now and imo, they’re daft to not cash in on that. ❤️ I’d LOVE to watch a full live performance of the Nutcracker. I’m embarrassed to say how much I’d pay for that ticket. 😆💕🙏🏾

Yes I agree the whole pas de deux please.
Fumi always makes it look so effortless. She is breathtaking.
WOW KANEKO HAS SUCH GREAT COMMAND OF THIS ROLE. She is dancing beautifully and with such confidence 😍😍
Fumi IS the Sugar Plum Fairy. Exquisite grace.

Hello Evdokiadritsa
Absolutely stunning. Fumi dances this role with so much joy and precision. An absolute delight to watch.
Musicality with supreme technical ability and strength
I love this couple 😩😩😩😩 so beautiful ❤️
Lovely, and kudos to Bracewell. A true ballet prince, but also one with warmth, great port-de-bras, and well-thought-out nuances.
They are literally shimmering and shining. Gorgeous.
I've been watching Fumi clips all night, and I'm entranced. Her Adagio is "creamy," as Darcey Bussell says.

It's amazing that you can go back and see Fumi rehearsing this a decade ago and here she is performing it still with so much beauty.

So fluid, what an incredible performance
This is my first time watching professional ballet dancers dance and it made me so happy in such a long time
So beautiful please let us seen the rest of the pas de deux ❤❤❤❤❤❤
日本公演が待ちきれない❤
They dance so well together...really great lines.
That arabesque 🎉🎉😮
Amazing to see her progression from the 2011 rehearsal, to now
they both look extremely charming and glamorous! loved every second of their performance.
so elegant and stunning from both of them!
One of my favorite pas de deux pairs ❤️✨
Watched this live and it was so mesmerizing
what luck!
With all that glitter and spooky makeup, the Trocs could make ballet gold from this choreography already bordering on camp.
The most grateful dancers and interpretation. Watch it over and over 🥹
Oh Fumi ❤❤❤
好優美。這些royal opera house才像樣歌劇舞蹈。royal show
Fabulous! please upload the whole pas de deux.

I just want the whole performance 😩😩😩 I can't stop watching this 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Eine zauberhafte Aufführung! Passend zur Weihnachtszeit . . .
Wanted to see her on stage as sugar plum since she did the rehearsal video with Nehemiah

The Nutcracker is being performed untill December 25 where I live. I’m going to watch it tomorrow.
😍😍😍😍
Beautiful...but still my favorite is Nunez and Muntagirov performing this pas de deux.
Nela and Vadim are beyond perfect!
@@pekieboo You are absolutely correct!
What about francesca hayward?
@@mariahcarey9470 Also wonderful! I guess I am just a Nunez fan.
Agreed. Nela fills the music with her movements, and their chemistry is magical!
Will this be on the ROH streaming platform?
Next life.. I will be a prima ballerina🤔
Finally a ballerina that knows how to move her hands.

Where can we see the entire pas de deux?
Does anyone know if I can stream the 2022 Royal Ballet Nutcracker in USA ?

Oh come on, just this short clip?? 🥺
WHERE IS THE FULL THING😭
Who is the composer?
Tchaikovsky
yes, it's all beautiful. and I myself have seen many different productions. but for me personally, Grigorovich’s choreography and soul are better
why is some of the variation missing?? :(

Does anyone know what the date of this performance was?
