i've been dancing since i was three and let me tell you, our pianist seems to be napping 70% of the time and kids around with us all day, but he definitely has all the terminology down pat from just being submerged in it day in day out over the years and tbh i'd say he probably knows the choreography better than me 😂
For me, as an avarege human who does sport to keep in shape, I would really love to meet a ballet dancer in person to see all those muscles how they all work together in such a harmony. I don't envy them, they have to bring their bodies to extremes we can't even imagine. I admire them. For me, ballet dancers are icons.
One thing that's fun about the ballet cinemas (we lost the RB a few years ago but still get Bolshoi) is you get the giant-sized view of all those muscles working together!
So lovely and relaxing to watch Darcey encouraging Fumi Kaneko as she gently coaches her. Not one negative comment and she gets the best out of all the dancers. Love her xx

fumi kaneko is such a beautiful dancer and a perfect fit for aurora, her balances are a work of art. i don't live in the uk but i'd give ANYTHING to see her perform aurora
I rarely feel any kind of connection to the dancer when I watch something as technical as ballet, but this dancer, Fumi...I totally get it. I don't feel like I'm just watching a collection of pretty tricks, I feel like I'm watching a person with personality telling a story. She's awesome.

I can understand why other versions don’t include this step, because I personally think this move suits more for Odette in Swan Lake, although Fumi does it so elegantly
Am equally transfixed by Fumi's arms! My first thought; her arms move like a rhythmic gymnastics ribbon in the air. The performance, watched front on, is an incredible optical illusion of one continuous fluid movement. Marianela Nuñez is beautiful too, but it was this moment, watching Fumi's arms spin, that had me falling in love with Ballet
She is gorgeous, her pointe work is stellar. Beautiful, easy extensions and she's eager to learn. She seems like a dream partner as well. I see her going very far with this company. Best of luck Fumi.❤

Laura Cuthbertson was injured ahead of the live broadcast tonight, so Fumi stood in as Aurora. She did a blinder, Darcey Bussell was almost in tears at the end of the performance.

There was a rehearsal about eighteen months ago that my wife attended and she had the opportunity to talk with Fumi, who was utterly charming. Surely they will make her a principal, now.
I love the way they polish and refine an already stunning performance until perfection. It is this articulation and all the accumulation of hard work that make a final product so mesmerizing.

I love how half of the corrections are actual words, and the other half, they start a sentence, use a hand motion, and everyone knows what they're talking about.
Such a joy to watch these wonderful artists creating magic with all their conviction and heart. Makes me cry with reverence and gratitude watching them. Thank you Royal Ballet!
These dancers are gorgeous. I would love to have a rehearsal with that female coach! She's able to explain the ideas she wants very clearly. It's wonderful
This is so beautiful, watching her makes my heart ache a bit as I can't dance how I used to due to a chronic disease. I miss the environment, so I love that we can sort of glimpse what goes on BTS! It's like we're right there watching. Just lovely. 💛

I'm a conductor, and these coachings inspire me to get the best playing from the orchestra that I can. The greater the performance, the more ways there are to improve it.

Fumi is a STAR!! 🌟🌟🌟 The delicacy and pure classical finesse of the Rose Adagio are beautifully captured by her, I'm sure her shows will be magical.

How did she get injured?
@@dahlia5233 I think it was a minor muscle injury, that happened during rehearsal, which required a few days rest.
