I never thought I'd ever come to like Pas de Deux more than I liked Matthew Golding's version from years ago but this is definitely my favorite now! Elisabeth looks like she's flowing like water and he's so gentle, just gorgeous!
This is by far the best version of the sugar plum fairy pas de deux I’ve seen. The cavalier is so tender with the fairy and every move in the scene just seems so natural and effortless.
@@jhonsonkonja6013 Not Clara. This is part of the show that Clara witnesses in the second act. Clara is too young to do this, all the dances in the second act are specialities. I suggest it is the 'Sugar Plum Fairy'. I could be wrong, I have seen the same suggestion elsewhere. PS In other productions Clara has been on the stage watching all the wonders presented to her But try to remember - producers sometimes have some (very) strange ideas!
I saw Tonev in van Dantzig's Swan Lake in the pas de six of the third act. In real life she is even more graceful with beautiful proportions and a very fine and detailed finish to her terchnique. She's still young and at the start of her career and already so accomplished, here's to many more promotions within the company.

Yes, the Sugarplum! How many people think it's Clara? The Nutcracker has been 'interpreted'(!) so many times by so many choreographers it is little wonder there is a little confusion! But Clara really is still an adolescent being shown the possibilities in her life! That is where the magic is.

Less technically assured than Salome (who wouldn't be?!) but she has beautiful lines and a lovely delicacy. Loved Jakob's changements. He has stunning feet and really used them. Still missing the sensuality though.
Found a fellow dancer! I think they must have been tired for the allegro. They had much more oomph (for lack of a better term) in the rest of pas. They're still graceful, but they didn't have nearly as much power in their movements. Not that I BLAME them, this pas is HARD.
All the non dancers watching: "wow, so graceful." All the dancer's watching: "STOP ZOOMING IN ON THEIR FACES I WANNA WATCH THEIR LEGS! THEY'VE GOT GOOD LEGS AND I WANT TO *SEE* THEM!" Then again, maybe that's just me....
