Stihl 028 3/8 rim clutch conversion. Piltz Hot Saw on a budget.

Clutch Bearing, 9512 933 2370, 8 tooth rim should be 0000 642 1231 but all I get is 7 tooth. 7 spline rim, come in two ID's 22mm 7/8 or 19mm 3/4. Can't find 19mm, 3/8, 8 tooth rim. It seems, the oiler gear belongs to a 088 and has a metal worm. 1119 647 1800

I've bought 3 bars/conversion kits from Piltz Just got a 32" cannon super mini for the 361 I just bought ,they work very well and seem pretty reasonable @ 220 bar chain rim sprocket and gear good customer service as well

I can see that this video is over 2yrs old but by the looks of how dark it is under the cover I would suspect that the seal is leaking. Maybe this will help out somebody looking for help on an 028.

I just started restoring a Stihl 028 AV electronic quickstop. I don't know exactly what year it was made, but on the starter cover it says that it was made in West Germany .... so old. The only parts I didn't find here were the gasket kit. I even tried the Stihl dealerships, who told me that if they were older than 20 years they would no longer sell parts. I managed to find the gasket kit on sawzillaparts.com. I am aware that they are not original but at least I do my job with them. Good luck in what you do! All the best form Romania!

A German saw needs German parts. This being said,,,Ya gotta get it done. Look at my other video of my 028 running. It has cut 8 cord of fire wood so far and I haven't got a filter cover for it Yet. Recommend a skip tooth chain and clutch springs. Extra oil in the petrol will make good , heart warming, smoke. Never use ethanol fuel and do use a quality spark plug.
