Around here suckers move up streams from our reservoirs in the spring to spawn . I have also speared them at night in rivers from john boats with snow still on the ground. We fillet them and then score through the bones every 1/3 inch, batter and deep fry. That way the bones seem to disintegrate.

I'm from Minnesota and the only way I've seen people eat them is by smoking them, better off feeding them to your animals or using them for fertilizer.

Savage They are white suckers they really common in lakes and streams in Minnesota
Savage they are in a sub species of chubs (minnows) but they grow to decent sizes
