Wishing u all the best with him! (they do need tons and tons of exercise . I was in the best shape of my life when I had him. at least 3 hours a day on the field chasing rabbits and deers. Him, not me:)

when we went to close our vizsla I cried when they all came out as they're just so cute. Eventually we didn't choose and instead the puppy chose us. 2.5 years later still a wee mad man. Still buckets of energy and love. Great dogs and will never leave your side (unless they're out a walk/run) Also out of all the dogs I know Vizslas have the most personality and the best personality I think.

I remember when my Vizsla puppy was that little. She was born last October, and we got her in December. She has grown so much in such a small amount of time
I have a cute lil vizsla rn, ive taught him to sit, down, roll over, speak, fetch, stand tall, and wave MYSELF even know hes my aunts dog. BTW its gonna be hard for the first year and maybe second year but dogs will mellow down. make sure to give her/him the best life they dont live long and make sure to spend ALOT of time with it vizslas CANNOT be alone for more than 15 mins. if they are they can trash the house, tear things up, or even worse get scared sad feel like their abandon and it could hurt itself
My Vizsla Sammy passed away in February he was 10. He was such a sweetheart and a goofball. He loved to play like he was 1! I miss him so much!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
What an adorable boy... I watch a lot of this breed always loved them... I wouldn’t get a pedigree personally because I’d always chosen a mongrel down on their luck... but wow I love these characters... My two same litter girls have some traits as the breed.. Always hunting needing lots of exercise and lots of big cuddles.. even now at 11 no signs of slowing down.. ✌️✌️... lots of love to you all and especially beautiful pup ...
My vizsla had 11 puppies and were all just too cute. Although sadly two of them passed away in the first two weeks. Honestly it was one of the happiest moments of my life when I came home and found 11 puppies lying in my dogs lap :)

We are on our second Vizsla - she is 14 years old and still going strong. If you see her at the off-leash park most people think she is at most 8 years old and they are surprised that she is as old as she is. This past weekend Vesta picked up a UTI and we took her to our local Vet - the two Vets that know her where not working Saturday evening the Vet who saw her had never seen her before. She was astonished that she was as bouncy as she was, we told her that Vesta's energy level was down from what it normally is. The Vet remarked that for a 14 year old dog her muscular was amazing she mentioned that she has seen young dogs of under 3 or 4 years with not even half Vesta's musculature. With luck we hope that Vesta makes it to her 16th birthday and on that day we will have a sweet 16 birthday for her at one of the local off-leash parks. :-) For people who have done their research on the breed and know what they are getting they are an absolute perfect match - if you don't know what you are getting they are probably the worst possible choice you could make. Here is hoping that Odin will be with you for a very long and have a happy and healthy life.

Can you share exactly what you are thinking of with this statement? The energy and velcro-ness? My wife and I have been doing a ton of research and even visited with a local breeder over the weekend. We are leaning towards getting one later this year and just want to continue to make sure we are well-informed. I think you answered the question you had about my statement when you commented on their energy and Velcro like nature, playfulness, desire to work and please, and of course the cuddly/by your side nature. Their cuddly/by your side nature can best be thought of as being Borg instead of saying "Resistance is futile!" a Vizsla would be saying "Resistance is futile you will cuddle me!" The two Vizsla's we had were both highly intelligent and excellent problem solvers so you need to keep them mentally engaged and stimulated. On food based intelligence tests Viszla's tend not to score as high as Golden Retrievers or Labs but based upon my small sample size of two I have yet meet a Golden or Lab that my two Vizslas could not outwit or out think. Alex based upon the research you have done and your comments I'm thinking you and are wife are going to make wonderful Vizsla owners.

There are numerous activities that can help - flyball, agility, scent tracking are just some of the activities that come to mind.
That was my Vizsla dogs name, I lost him to cancer, Beautiful dog breed,tons of energy so be ready to do a ton of running. It’s a superior k9, intelligent loving and the best hunting dog you could ever find. He was my best friend and I still think of him everyday.

Best thing that ever happened to us, Nick. A Dog a Cat he was both. He ended up with us and extended family and four cats in our house. No problems ever.
