I'm confused in the whole process now .. I'm applying for undergraduate program IT and computer science. In secondary School they thought us with English Why are they asking for French or German proficiency again
There is no confusion there, Bachelor in Applied Information Technology is taught in English (80%), and French (20%), while The Bachelor in Computer Science (BICS) at the University of Luxembourg is taught in English (95%), French or German (5%). Besides, before making an online application, you should first apply for the recognition of your foreign high school certificate, and part of the requirement for that recognition, among other documents, includes any of the following: A diploma issued by a higher education establishment recognised by a third country, providing proof of successful completion of a higher education study cycle of at least 3 years (bac+3) together with: (a) a level B2 language certificate for Luxembourgish, French or German under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages; or (b) proof of 3 years of studies of one of the 3 aforementioned languages during the the course of their studies; or (c) a certificate attesting that either the Luxembourgish, the French or the German language were one of the subjects passed at the secondary school graduation exam. All copies of certificates/diplomas and identity documents issued by third countries to the EU must be certified by an approved authority (communal administration, embassy or consulate). Regards Nuel

@@ZainIslam-oj5ms You need to find the Luxembourg embassy for your visa application; if they don't have an embassy in your country, which may be the case in most places, then find the embassy that they use for their consular services, which is usually the Belgium embassy or the Netherland embassy. You need to apply for your VISA D from any of them, depending on which one works for them in your country. So it would be best if you found out. In any case, your Letter of ATS should explain the next step. Regards
Dear Nuels, Could you please share your experience with me and let me know how long it took for you to receive the first and second letters from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs? ( before getting the third letter (ATS letter)?
Well during my time the process may be different, I got my letter within 1 month or three weeks of submission. I cannot remember any first, second and third letter. I only remembered that I got my ATS within a month or so. However, I think they have up to 60 days or so to make decision so you should be patient. Remember that each applicant case is different and they will treat each case based on the documents summited and its merits so it is not always easy to generalise peoples experience. One thing is certain, if your documents are well filed and complete as of the time of submission, it may make the process a bit faster but you must wait. If you have any inquiries please do contact the Immigration Directorate Luxembourg , they are highly professional and do respond to emails at least based on my experience. All the best. Nuel
You should try and read a little bit about these things because you are asking things you should already know. Application for authorisation is what you do before you enter Luxembourg; without that, you cannot obtain your VISA D. If you are applying for a master's, you don't need to do recognition during the application process. However, for a bachelor, it is mandatory. PLEASE watch my video on that. Regards Nuel

I have one question: Temporary authorization to stay must submit in plain paper from country of origin to the Immigration department of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Does this mean I need to submit the application and all of the require documents through delivery company to the ministry address?
Absolutely, yes, you need to submit or send all the required documents and applications to the designated address of the immigration directorate Luxembourg. The link to the official website of the ministry is below this video, and you will find the address on their website. All the best. Nuel

I have recently received an admission offer from the University of Luxembourg and now I would like to apply for a temporary authorization to stay. However, when I went to the Embassy of Luxembourg in Ethiopia, they informed me that they do not have any information regarding the process. Can you please guide me on where to go to submit my documents required for Authorization to stay? As a future third-country student, I am aware that I must submit an application for a temporary authorization to stay from my country of origin (Ethiopia). Thank you for your assistance.
Hi congratulations on your admission. I am not sure you actually watched my video on how to apply for the temporary authorisation to stay in Luxembourg because I explained the process in this video. Now you have to make your application and send all your supporting documents to the Immigration Directorate Luxembourg via courier service( you will find the delivery address on the website of the Immigration Directorate Luxembourg). Please Sir, can the criminal clearance to be sent as part of the documents for the temporary authorisation to stay be a court declaration affidavit? Because it was stated on the website, a criminal record extract or a sworn affidavit declaration from the country of residence

Thank you for this Mr. Nuels. Please I would love to ask how to go about a pending application to the University of Luxembourg due to Proficiency in French Language. My application for an MSc program (Sustainable Development, English-speaking) was sent back for me to attach a certificate of French Proficiency
M.Sc. Sustainable Development ( Master en Développement Durable) It is taught with a combination of French (85%) and English (15%). You can see that a greater percentage of it is taught in French so there is no way you will be admitted without a certificate of French language proficiency. Why would you choose a course mainly taught in French without a French certificate?. Did you study with the French language in your previous studies?. If you studied with the English language in your previous study, you may choose another programme, for example: (1)Master of Science in Civil Engineering - Megastructure Engineering with Sustainable Resources and (2) Master of Science in Engineering - Sustainable Product Creation are fully taught with the English Language. All the best Nuel

If possible you should add certified true copies, a register lawyer in your country could help you with certified true copies. The documents enclosed must be originals or certified true copies (except for the passport where a plain copy will suffice). Hello I just got a conditional admission letter from the university of Luxembourg. And I was really confused with the steps to take after that. You helped me a lot with the steps. But I have one doubt, for the proof of admission to an university in Luxembourg can I show my conditional admission letter? Because the condition given in the letter is that my qualifications are verified by the ministry of higher education and Research. Will it hinder my application? And for the proof of fund I have applied for Guillaume Dupaix International Scholarship at the university of Luxembourg but the results for that would only be out by June... But the admission letter tells me that the application for temporary authorisation to stay should reach the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs - Immigration Directorate by 1st July 2023 at the latest. What should I do?
Firstly, congratulations on your conditional offer as a general rule, once you have a conditional offer, it means that you need to fulfil certain conditions before you will now be given the official unconditional offer. In your case, you need to apply for the recognition of your foreign diploma and then your authorisation to stay in Luxembourg. I think you can basically make these two applications simultaneously and if you start now it is possible that you will be done before July given to you. Concerning the proof of funds, I don't think you should rely on scholarship as a proof of funds because it may not be enough and you cannot be certain that it will be approved even if it will be enough and it might take time for them to decide and you don't want that uncertainty. I wish you the very best. Nuel
@@nuelonyedikaokpala Thank you so much for the reply. But as far as I know the application for recognition of my foreign degree requires authorisation to stay... So I won't be able to apply that without the authorisation to stay and on the other hand to apply for the authorisation to stay i need admission letter but I only have conditional letter ... What should I do? And yes I'm not just relying on the scholarship but thought to wait for it as well.
@@dencyclaristhomas1451 Sorry but you clearly need to understand how the process works. The application for the recognition of your foreign diploma is completely different from applying for the authorisation to stay. Yes You may need your real admission letter for the application of your authorisation to stay so why you are applying for your recognition of foreign diploma there is nothing wrong with also getting your documents ready for the application for authorisation to stay. Please watch the videos I made on these two processes and also visit the website of the immigration directorate Luxembourg for more information. At this stage you must learn how to multitask because you dont have lots of time to waste. All the best.
@@nuelonyedikaokpala Hi, Nuel. First of all, I would like to thank for all the info you are sharing here with us. Well, I am trying to understand what she is saying up there and it's quite pertinent. How do you apply for both when they clearly tell you that you cannot apply for recognition of foreign diploma without an authorization to stay? On their website, it is clearly stated. It means you should start with authorization to stay FIRST and once it's granted then you can apply for recognition of your foreign diplomas. You cannot apply for both at the same time.
@@boriseyengangoa515 The video is to help you with the right information on how to follow this process; it is your responsibility to read more and do your own research. What I am clear about is that if you are applying for a master's degree programme, you can apply for the recognition of your foreign diploma after you must have gotten admission, now the next step would be applying for temporary authorisation to stay and, of course,,, the recognition of your foreign diploma. Now these processes of applying for the temporary authorisation to stay and recognition of a foreign diploma will usually be stated in your offer letter, so it is just simple logic that you should follow what the ADMISSION LETTER says in terms of the next step [whether A come first or B come first will be based on what is in your offer letter PLEASE]. My video is to help create some awareness and NOT to solve all your problems. It is your RESPONSIBILITY to do your own further research and contact the appropriate authorities WHEN NECESSARY. Why are they asking for French or German proficiency again
There is no confusion there, Bachelor in Applied Information Technology is taught in English (80%), and French (20%), while The Bachelor in Computer Science (BICS) at the University of Luxembourg is taught in English (95%), French or German (5%). Besides, before making an online application, you should first apply for the recognition of your foreign high school certificate, and part of the requirement for that recognition, among other documents, includes any of the following:
A diploma issued by a higher education establishment recognised by a third country, providing proof of successful completion of a higher education study cycle of at least 3 years (bac+3) together with:
(a) a level B2 language certificate for Luxembourgish, French or German under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages; or
(b) proof of 3 years of studies of one of the 3 aforementioned languages during the the course of their studies; or
(c)
a certificate attesting that either the Luxembourgish, the French or the German language were one of the subjects passed at the secondary school graduation exam.
All copies of certificates/diplomas and identity documents issued by third countries to the EU must be certified by an approved authority (communal administration, embassy or consulate).

Could you please share your experience with me and let me know how long it took for you to receive the first and second letters from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs?
Nuel

@Nuels , which comes before and after , application for authorisation to stay or application of recognition of higher diploma ??

Nuel

Hello
I just got a conditional admission letter from the university of Luxembourg. But the admission letter tells me that the application for temporary authorisation to stay should reach the Ministry
of Foreign and European Affairs - Immigration Directorate by 1st July 2023 at the latest.
Remember, these processes are not written in stone; procedures and rules may change from time to time. Regards Nuel
