I drive a 2006 Honda Civic & I originally wanted the C-RV 2018 ... I think I want this one now ! I’m in college so I think this car would be very fun to drive in !
Needs about 40 more HP.
I wish for 2021 Honda will at least put the current civic 2.0L motor on this vehicle. It is getting heavier with the additional insulation for the 2019 model year. We own a 2016 and a 2019 but the 2019 seems a bit not as light off the line.

I had the original 2016 Honda HRV ex! The car was really nice back then fantastic for it's price point and never had a prob. I actually just bought a 2018 accord sport! Car is insane again for the price. Love what they did with the HRV looks incredible and love all the new features that were once luxury are now becoming standard. Cup holder looks really sick, I love the Honda sensing in the HRV and my Accord has it as well. Honda does fantastic with their cars! I love my Accord it really feels like a luxury car and people constantly compared to the Audi A7. Nice job hondapro Jason, and Honda itself!

Maybe if he expanded to other brands. Honda is great, but it's not the only great brand out there. Honestly when I first starting watching this guy I thought he was paid by honda(still not sure if he is). But if he does something like subaruwrxfan when he stopped fanboying and changed his name to matt maran motoring...he can potentially blow up like matt did.

I was going to say the same thing. The new Civic 1.5L turbo would've made this HR-V, best in class.
Given all the oil dilution issues with the Honda CRV 1.5T engine I dont think Honda would be dumb enough to put it in another vehicle until they come up with a fix for the problems with it. People in a facebook group complaining no heat in the winter, as much as 2 quarts over full because gasoline getting into the oil, more than a dozen buy backs just in the group alone. 2-4 dozen people in the group have these issues and it's a small group. I have read about the problems all over the internet. I'm worried about mine, so far it's good, but for how long? who knows?
@@tw4879 But they put it in the 2018 Accord and the Civic and there don't appear to be any complaints from the Accord side so it must have been fixed.

WAIT. In 2020 the HR-V will supposedly, 'most likely,' be redesigned and brought up to specs with the more powerful Asian / European model, the Honda Vezel; also with more comfort options such as a panoramic sunroof.
so the usdm hrv will finally get LED lights that the honda vezel had .... about time

Great improvements HONDA----------Love the key fob (Dont change it please:) the LED lighting AWESOME sauce! the magic seats like the fit AWESOME sauce! USB ports .random lighting option nice! Did i forget awesome LEDS lighting!!!!!!!! NOW toyota and subaru have to maintain as all three offer this feature! HRV is just SWEET!
Jason, now about the revised input to the acceleration to make it goes a little be faster, I do not seen the different from my 2016 to the 2019 we have. Personally, I think the 2016 felt a little lighter and quicker. The 2019 we got seems a bit heavier driving of the line.
Quick note...a flood occurred at the Fit/HRV plant in Mexico in June. It is supposed to resume three months later and dealers told me it takes a month to get to US from the plant, so I guess 2019 FIT/HRV from Mexico may not arrive in showrooms until Late October/November.
You'll get a flooded fit/HR-V. LOL

Although I do like the changes that Honda did to the new HRV, I was hoping that Honda would carry the newer infotainment system from the new Accord and Odyssey to this car in stead of using the older system.

We just got one!! Does padded center console have TWO storage trays? We know how to open it...but, it looks like the top padded “lid” should separate from the plastic part of the lid that opens... Does it do that?? Thanks. :)

Thinking of buying it but take a look at the videos of the Asian / European 2019 model which has an available "panoramic" sunroof!! And other / more features that the US model doesn't have. Disappointed with the American 2019 model. Maybe will wait for 2020...

While I LOVE my Accord Coupe V6 6MT, but if I were to start a family I'd EASILY consider this new HRV as my second car/family vehicle. It looks great for a subcompact crossover! Is it the R18 engine by the way?

These are my issues and probably other peoples as well. First:
1. It's made in Mexico.
2. It has no turbocharged engine option. Is this because of C.A.F.E. ?
3. It has a C.V.T.
and the Fit has a better engine! How bizarre is that?! What is Honda thinking? No more standard transmission! You have to change the cvt trans oil every year! How much you think Honda will charge for that? craaaazy!

My new hrv I was trying to change station which was a bit difficult I cracked the screen with my finger
I drove the 2018 and it's a good car. The power is ok. But I do think they should put the 1.5 turbo engine from the Civic in it at least as an option maybe on the sport version or something. I like the looks of the 18 better than the 19 too.
How is this a all new model it's still refresh no? The first HRV came out in 2016.
Hey man, question...with the front sensing camera, in the event of a windshield crack, does the camera need to be realigned? If so, does Honda charge a fee for it?
You'll pay hefty for a windshield replacement I can tell you that. Too many gadget is no good sometimes. Keep it simple and easy to own and maintain is what I like. If you can't drive and keep our eyes of the phone then rather not go out driving and kill someone. If people cannot park and drive then they have no business being out on the road. Sure, it's an improvement for safety but people will abuse it and end up causing more problem if they solely depends on it.

All these changes and they leave the same anemic 1.8 liter engine in there. This car needs the 1.5 turbo motor

a turbo with a small engine is a bad idea. they should put a 2.0L in that. not a turbo.

Claudia Garza go to menu, then meter setting, then you will see fuel efficiency backlight color then you can change it how you see fit
@@Stevenyc69 - ok, I feel like a stupid a$$ girl because I CAN NOT find meter setting AT ALL in the menu. There is no meter setting to choose from. The panel is not the same as the EX or above and it doesn't have customizable door locks exactly like the EX and above because it has an actual key that you use to start it. You have to use the park assist in this specific trim to set up how to lock the doors. Am I making sense? Thanks for trying to help me!!

If Honda is smart they would give some of these to Acura, add a Turbo, DCT Transmission, Dual Exhaust, Red seats, change the Badges & call it an Acura CDX. They would sell like Hotcakes...
So, basically, it’s just barely catching up to the foreign market Vezels? We still don’t get any Hybrid trims. Our 2016 HR-V is pretty decent, but the foreign models we used prior to purchasing were vastly superior, and it still seems as though this “redesign” is being watered down from other markets.
why is the Vezel better?
Well, first off, all of these updates we just got were already standard fare on the Vezel for a few years. In addition, the Vezel features a rear occupant arm rest, where USDM models do not. Hybrid and Turbo trims are available in other markets, but not here. Some of them come better equipped from the factory, than our US models, with power folding mirrors, for example, and often times the Vezels have been finished off slightly better than our American counterparts, with better fitment, better overall quality, and better attention to detail. We purchased the HR-V in 2015 when it launched here in the US because we had positive prior experiences with Vezels in foreign markets. The HR-V still suits our needs well, but it hasn’t been as pleasant an experience as the Vezels.

Honda will have stiff competition from the 2020 Buick Encore GX.
The Encore is still not roomy as the HR-V though. Too small of a CUV.
Great video but when you mentioned all the "NEW" things on there down which is not at all new. Sensing was used on the 2016 models in Canada. LEDs were used on all jdm upper end range vezals. Honey comb grill upgrade option on 2016. One thing they still cant get right is the LED tubes on rear brake lights. And all 4 light up. Engine wise they failed they should have upgraded to a 1.5L turbo way long ago and still haven't. Honda is lazy
They add sunroof instead that feature on local HRV. Which useless since Indonesia is tropical island. Hot when u open d roof during daytime.

Switched out my 2016 Civic EX for the 2019 HRV EX and hardcore regret my decision!!! My Civic was light years ahead of the HRV at 3 years older 😹. I am extremely underwhelmed with the difference. No more remote start, the dash board is super outdated (miss seeing the actual digital speed), cup holders are a lot smaller, the screen isn’t centered in the HRV which look wise is ugly as can be not to mention bringing back the knob is actually stupid look wise, no door lock button on passenger side, the seats hurt my back so bad and the hump at the bottom is in the way of my feet being comfortable, can’t see all that well out the back, old school tank and lever to open again (WHYYY), and really miss being able to pull my cord through the top of the cubby. Just to name a few! 😳 Sales guy said I’d get 30 mpg highway (hahaha didn’t believe that at all but thought I’d at-least get 25.) Yeah how about 22.. I get it’s an suv and heavier and that I won’t get the 42 mpg highway I got in my Civic but wow. It would be really nice if the HRV was truly more sporty because it is more like a hybrid between an suv and car. It could be a really cool suv for those not wanting to feel like they had a mom car lol! On the plus side I have heated seats and it’s purple.
Still no bsm and rcta come on Honda the cx3 has them also make the led headlights standard stop cheating out on the headlights too.

Oh no I did about every 3 months. But in my area, it’s really humid and we have pollen so it was easily seen.

bob butcher I completely disagree, We own a HRV & the lack of programmable door locks are a pain Every day with our kids. It’s like push button start. Once you use it it’s very tough to live without. Also people said ABS was a waste of money when it came out. Now you would never buy a new car without it.
