I'm sooo glad you made one of just scraping. I never knew that the sounds of scrapping would be my cure to putting me to sleep, but I'm pretty sure I've listened to the sound compilation video you made about, hmm , actually I wouldn't be able to count that high, but I know I've put in a lot (a LOT) of views to that video Literally turn it on every single night. I have no idea why, but these sounds hit that magic spot in my brain and help me go to sleep, which I normally struggle with. And now I will have a new one to go to sleep to. THANK YOU. Off to bed I go, and I don't even dread it.
Just my opinion. The Swiss army knife being used with short movements worked the best. The tone the blade made in combination to the leather, has been my osmosis. Atleast 100 times.
I love your videos!! In this one there's one little thing that triggers my OCD though. There is a round little spot on the left boot that I kept thinking you would scrape away but didn't 😅

I love that you do compilations of specific types of steps of your process, but I noticed you leave in sounds of other things in between like scrubbing with soap. Have you thought of doing strictly only scraping or shining, with no other types of sounds? I usually just double tap/skip through parts where you’re scrubbing shoes for some reason, I don’t really prefer the sound, so I was surprised to see you start compilations of a specific noise, but leave in other steps unrelated to the video, instead of just cutting those parts out. I love all your videos and am thankful for your content, but I wanted to let you know this feedback. 🙂
I’m still trying to understand how this is beneficial to the restoration of the shoe, beings that the finish is being scraped off, as well as the shoe getting visibly scratched in the process. Surely this cannot be good regardless of any work being done to restore.
Most of the time shoe's finish wears of only in some spots, so if you re apply new finish it would look incoherent. By removing the finish if you apply the new coat of finish it would look new.
