So adorable! I love that you show when things don't work out too, it's so easy to get frustrated with creating things, especially when it seems like other people get everything right the first time. I love brooches, and used to wear them often, thank you for the reminder to pull them out of my jewelry box!
I actually have a heart brooch very similar to the one you used. I wear it on my work uniform and it holds a picture of my little sister who passed away. I'm totally inspired to go to a local thrift store and try this idea out. Keep up the great work.
Oh man, i love your art style and it translates so well to brooches! I wonder if a 3d resin printer would make this process easier? But then you don't get all the tactileness of working on it with your hands, or the patina from dusting the mold. Either way, i like how your brain brains, and the things it comes up with! A spider with pearl eyes was the cutest thing I've ever heard of omg
This is kinda off topic but when I first found you I had so many goals and things I wanted to do some of witch you inspired and some of those goals I have reached and I feel like you have helped me so much along the way you are the light of my life when Iv hit rock bottom so thank you for always being here ❤❤❤❤
fun fact: in one of her amazing videos she makes these dolls and she puts rocks on the bottom of the dools to make them stand up. when i saw your message and you said " hit rock bottom" it reminded me of the cute dolls she made
This brooch turned out very lovely! I don't work with resin but I've seen many who do. The ones who seem to have perfected the back will add more resin once the resin in the mold gets tacky and starts settling. You are doing amazing work! I can't wait to see what you create next.
@Carys Cuttlefish I think a 2 part or multi part mold would be great, another possible option can be creating another mold for the legs separately. Like how you created the indents for the eyes, make the body with holes for the legs then use uv resin or another type of strong adhesive to connect it to the main body.
Found your channel a little bit ago and have been watching your awesome art and gifted point of view. Just wanted to say thank you.....I find myself watching your videos for the art and most of all your words of inspiration. They help more than you will ever know. Like your little cute pieces we are all unique and slightly damaged but never broken. Thank you.
I absolutely love your videos. They’re so inspiring. The transparency of how art can be a process and that struggles leading to rerouting doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing and may even lead to better things. Thank you for bringing a sense of reassurance to my insecurities when I do art. Thank you for such lovely videos and such amazing work!! ❤
I think with the spider, you either need to do half at a time that you glue together later or mold and attach the legs separately in order for it to work
OMG AN ANTIQUE MALL!!!! What a MAGNIFICENT THING! but I live in stupid NYC and we do t have ANYTHING like that! DAMN. I MUST FIND ONE I CAN DRIVE TO THATS NOT TOO FAR! Ugh!!!
Those look absolutely amazing, I actually love how the backs look. They remind me of looking into a geode. Also did I run to join your patreon, yes, yes I did lol 😃
Your art is so very amazing and very wonderful and very marvelous and very magnificent I've love your art so much keep it up the fantastic work bc you are the best and very amazingly talented artist and a wonderful person and btw I've love your videos so much keep it up the fantastic work!!!
Your cats are so cute and you did really good on your work sorry about the spider but you tried your best and your work looked really good but I like how you never give up
Thank you tremendously for continuing to be uplifting, full of light, and brightening the day, Carys! 🌈🤍 You are a lovely being and all of your children are lovely; despite shattered appendages or unexpected mishaps.
You probably know this now but if you use a bit of raw polymer clay under the sculpt squished into the lego backing it'll hold your sculpt in place without bobbing and give you a little spot to start trimming around/ pour spout =)
I would love to have those , especially that necklace ,I love antique jewelry as well as furnature .My Son found a old jewelry box where he was working and the old brooches inside were so beautiful and the other thins too .I made some bracelets out of some of them and a chocker .
It’s rly sad you gave up, but I think it was super cute!! Oh btw, my mum ordered a gloomble plush for me! It’s shipping all the way to the uk, but I cannot wait for it to arrive!! ❤
So, I'm not an expert, but there are products out there that could probably help with molds like these. Like a mold release that's suppose to help get the object out of the mold, or doing like a two piece silicone mold where you keep the two pieces from sticking together when you cast it, so you could open it up once its done.
Question why don’t you use the mold it’s like a purple putty. I forgot what it’s called. I’ve used it before it’s two parts that you mix but it’s like Play-Doh and you just put it around your sculpture. It seems like it would be safer than the liquid.also I LOVE YOU AND UR CHANNEL ❤❤❤❤🦄
May I ask how much are the lil Worry warts are they been sold out since Christmas and I'd like to buy a few different kind for my birthday Jan 20th qnd I'll join Patrion
I really wish I could get these for free but I’m not going to get them for free if I want them I’ll buy them if my mom will buy them I’m a child but like these are so cool and I’d get one with black coral gem and a picture of my late cousin who died of suicide 😭😭😭😭😭😓😅
I love the cat poking his head in all, "Mother?! Are you troubled? Do you require the snuggles, mother?"
I love that you don't hide your mistakes and you share them with us I love your work so much :)
I have two bunnies, a tarantula, and jumping spiders. I love the spider bunny design and the second design looks so adorable!
So adorable! I love that you show when things don't work out too, it's so easy to get frustrated with creating things, especially when it seems like other people get everything right the first time.
I love brooches, and used to wear them often, thank you for the reminder to pull them out of my jewelry box!
So true! I feel that way also, it’s why I show you how deeply inept I am hahaha! Thanks for being here and I need to wear a brooch today too!
I actually have a heart brooch very similar to the one you used. I wear it on my work uniform and it holds a picture of my little sister who passed away. I'm totally inspired to go to a local thrift store and try this idea out. Keep up the great work.
It's a great idea. What if you did the body in resin, but leave some space to make the legs out of wire-strung beading?
That's a great idea!
Oh man, i love your art style and it translates so well to brooches!

My Mama RuthE had a little box of brooches that I would always love to pull down & admire. Thank you for reminding me of this precious memory.
I've never opened a patreon link so fast in my entire life, I'm so happy I have a way to support you now, I love your work and your kindness so much

I love how open you are about making mistakes! This piece is SO adorable!
I think that breathing new life into this forgotten jewelry is freaking awesome, don't feel bad
👑Love your beautiful Kitties!🐾🐾🐾🐾💗
I think the spider might have worked better as a 2 part mold, but the legs still might have been a bit thin either way. :\
I’ll definitely look into learning how to do something like this! Thanks for the insight friend! ❤❤❤❤
@@caryscuttlefish no problem. Good luck :3

It's a shame you couldn't get the spider to work, but the kitties turned out awesome. The one you decided to keep is my favorite.
