- Tutorial for creating a gliding ability using the gameplay ability system in a Lyra sample project based game.
Covers:
- Setting up an ability that activates when holding input and ends when releasing the input
- No C++ required
- Adding a launch pad to your level
- Glide while still being able to aim and shoot
- Using a root motion ability task to move your player, disable gravity momentarily for them
- Not gliding when dead/dying
- Depleting the glide and replenishing when landing on the ground with a gameplay effect
- Testing in multiplayer, debugging using the world outliner and choosing the right world
- No C++ required

Thanks for you videos. One that I've rarely seen is how to add melee attacks to Lyra. Maybe to use Lyra to create a RPG.

Nance, could you make another simple practical tutorial on SaveGame in Lyra? When a Character carries a large number of GA and Attributes, the serialization and deserialization involved in SaveGame is a headache.

Hello, I followed your video, After adding the Tag "Movement.Mode.Jumping" in GA Glide the Ballon is not showing. Without a tag, it shows. Please help or share a project.

Hey Nance. Can u show how to edit Lyra ai ? For example they protect an area, randomly walking there then if they detect us or hit by us after that they come after us. Something like that :)

Hi, you're welcome! I usually just press Shift+F1 to lose focus of the window and see the cursor then click on the window/client I want to control and have focus on. Alternatively you could alt tab between windows.
