- The Battle of Bannockburn took place on 23rd and 24th June 1314 when King Robert the Bruce led the Scots to an astonishing victory over "proud Edward's army".
Every year an anniversary march and rally is held to commemorate this achievement.
Organised by #AUOB
Proud to have been on the march.🕷🕸
Thanks to all participants. I have mobility issues so I couldn't be there myself so I thank you for your taking part. Thanks for the video. I just posted my postal ballot, so here's hoping we get good things for all of Scotland from this election.
As an Englishman, I don't resent paying for your scooter and pension. X
Well done everyone - so important we celebrate our history and culture! 🥰
Why the cops they were not needed every few metres...nice to see folks though, peacefully marching. 🏴😻
Thank You Scottish Freedom
It was a great day, not only weather wise but also the turnout too.
We got a good reception too from the people of Stirling as we walked through the town.
I saw myself up at the front of the march… to see myself as others see me… rather scary! 🏴
well done everyone who took part! 🥰

BONNY BLUE BONNETS .
Was this a march for independence. Or a march to celebrate a piece of our History?
Both! The annual Bannockburn march has been taking place for many years, and All Under One Banner have helped organise it for the last few years
No sense of irony in that question🙄

The police look so bored.
Yes, there's never any trouble on these marches, so not much for them to do.
@@ScottishIndyPodExtra Two other things also struck me. Firstly, there were an anachronistic number of Jacobites for a march commemorating Bannockburn, and secondly the number of Palestinian flags. While I ardently support the Palestinian cause, I am also aware that King Robert always wished to go on crusade, and that Sir James Douglas actually died fighting the moors in Spain.
@@neilmcbeath954 I don't think they made any claims to historical accuracy from individual marchers, it is a public event, not a re-enactment. 😀 People wear what they want and bring whatever flags they want to display just as they did at Cop 26 marches in Glasgow etc it is all part of the fun
