Literary just happened waiting on someone to come out side i heard a funny sound under the hood sure enough pulley bolt snapped i i thought it was the engine my heart dropped when i seen this video i was like cool i rather it b this then something else 😂🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️💯
Thanks Loi, how is everything working after the replacement? I have to replace my compressor bracket too. I was able to loosen the bottom two bracket bolts and will try loosening the top two this weekend. (glad to have some warmer weather now) I'm planning on using a Offset Metric Box End Wrench to get to them. I haven't tried to remove the alternator yet but I think I may have to because it is a very tight space to work in there right now, as you mentioned. Thanks for your video!
I also turn this honda odyssey to a camper van with battery isolator. Check out my block to view the channel and if u haven't subscribe pls considered ty
If u didn't drill yet take the bracket out remove AC compressor BUT DO NOT TAKE IT OUT. Than u can reuse the bracket just drill out broken bolt on the table so u don't need to buy new bracket only dealer have it

I was able to get in done with out removing the alternator but it would have probably been easier if I would have just went ahead and removed it.
How much more difficult was it for you by not removing the alternator? I'm going to attempt this but I don't want to have to remove a lot of things if I can help it. I know some people remove the washer fluid reservoir to get more room, but Loi didn't.
@@jonhnnyutah2529 well like i saud in the reply it wasnt easy and im not sure i got the bolts tighten enough because of the limited space without removing the alternator that is. With that being said its still working fine and its been some time since did it.

I got my part at junk yard. My tensioner bolt broke off flush to. Honda gives you no room to Work.but I refused to lay the $800 they want to fix it. Thanks for the vid!👍🍻
Honestly I have always gone with hand tight which very tight since it to the block . Beside I dont think u can get a torque wrench in there. Hope this help
This was so confusing and didn't show anything really. The explaining was so crazy. Sorry but the only part that I felt helpful was letting me know about the bracket being there everything else was crazy

Hello hello please try do not drill anything you need to buy the bracket either at a junkyard or you buy from the dealer you remove the bracket so there's no drilling involved it's quicker and easier
@@loijourney1219 and is ur tensioner pulley the 1 with 2 pulleys and a huge housing mount o the simple 1.. mines with 2 pulleys on the housing??? And ty ty ty so very much 4 replying buddy
@Loi Journey When I took the a c mounting bracket off it fell and I didn't notice were it was originally don't know exactly where it goes back on around the mountain but I kept for the a c compressor
In this case if it was me I would install everything back only when the belt go back on than u can tell if the belt is off. But if it run smoothly u ok. If not u should be able to tell which part is off so u can add the spacer
The mechanic said that the entire engine needs to be pulled out of the car and that a machine shop would have to do the extraction. You just saved me a bunch of money. Where did you get the new bolt. Do you know the specs of the bolt like thread pitch and length? Maybe I can source one if I had the specs.
Actually if u didn't do any drilling yet remove the bracket than drill through the broken bolt tensioner or using a flat head screwdriver to tap it out whichever work. So u dont have to waste 200 for bracket

I thought my motor was toast! I'm gonna get a used one at the junkyard. My engine j35a pretty common. Little more work than I wanted but it is what it is.
I'm going threw this now took to mechanic he said give him a day or two if he can't get it out junk it.That was a slash in my heart all because something broke off.What can I tell him to insure him that it can be done.

@@ronniedavid7769 I like I mentioned the best way to do it is you have a mounting bracket a new one
High so if you want to extract the bolt from the mounting bracket that's up to you but I think it's longer
I thought I had take off same your put on your cat to replace my tension assembly but now I can't get the four bolts to go in on the engine block

I am replacing the same part but have one bolt longer than the rest and dont remember which spot is the correct one for the bolt.

The spacer that came off we were does it go back on .I can't figure it out trying to put it back together
If there was a spacer than put it back it there for the alignment of the drive belt

I don't have a haynes manual or Chilton manual to help me with the diagram to show me where it goes.
In this case if it was me I would install everything back only when the belt go back on than u can tell if the belt is off. But if it run smoothly u ok. If not u should be able to tell which part is off so u can add the spacer

It 4 bolts take pictures of the bracket tell them u need the 4 bolt for that but they have it for sure or have to order
M12x1.25 bolt is needed to replace the broken bolt... This is a 12mm bolt with 1.25 thread.... I believe 4"long?
