It is more pervasive in cults/religions; especially those who isolate to avoid becoming part of mainstream society (Mormons, Amish, Hasidic Jews, etc.). Some have special status because they do not use government services, etc., and do NOT pay taxes. That includes the Amish; which means taxpayers are forced to foot the entire bill for their trial and incarceration. We need to end ALL tax exemptions for ALL of them!
I am a woman Vietnam era Navy WAVE Veteran. There was no one there for us to protect us. We never spoke about this. We knew that if we did we would be released from the military with a less than honorable discharge. It was a frighteningly horrific nightmare to have lived and only today now in my 70s is it all coming back to me with tremendous pain and anguish. I wish these women and men the best and I do hope they can be instrumental in passing legislation. Thank you for speaking up. This is very heroic of you considering the consequences of being shunned!
So sorry to hear of all you endured in American military Aidah. Abysmal. My worldview tells me that at some we all have to face our consciences. I will be praying for you. I was a military dependent and knew about abuses back then. I had already survived childhood trauma which took me a long time to get over, but I can give you this hope: there is healing for every kind of trauma through Christ Jesus. I am whole now and seldom think about it except to share my own story to help others. It is no longer gut-wrenching pain. Lean into God and ask for healing. And if you need help, seek out a qualified trauma counselor. Don't feel like you have to be stuck with one you aren't comfortable with. I "tried" 8 or 9 before I found the one just right for me. You will get through this and be okay. You held it in and carried the pain alone for far too long. It is time to let it go. Let the perpetrators carry their own guilt. You owe them nothing. Tell your story, name names if you need to. Be truthful. It is very freeing.

If our husbands did something it was our fault. My husband drank and I was told it was because I did not pray enough 😞 There are alot of good Amish and Mennonite people but yes there is evil also as so in all cultures.
These men obviously don’t fear God. It clearly states in Leviticus not to have sex outside of marriage OR with your children. They will face judgement for what they’ve done. So sad for all the victims.
I have a friend who was a member of the local Mennonite community in the small town rural area where we’re from and it’s truly heartbreaking to hear all of the stories of abuse that she and others in that community have suffered or that many are still suffering through. They are taught early on in life that anyone outside their religious order is “evil” or “of the devil” and never to be trusted. Women and children are to be subservient and fully submissive, never to question any man in their community especially if it’s someone whose seen as an authority figure within their religious order. From there they know they can run the risk of being shunned by not only their entire family but also any other connected religious order associated with their immediate group. So many of them never feel they can escape the abuse their suffering. The stories of abuse are horrific and rampant but most of those who are suffering through it all are not aware that there is any other hope outside of their community because they feel the laws that govern our land don’t apply to the laws within their religious order.

Amish abuse is coming to light. The 6-week ban for rapists and pedophiles is nonsense. In early Israel people were reprimanded and instructed how to make amendments for their less serious sins. Things like murder and rape called for the death penalty. Similarly, any religious group should morally recognize that such a harsh offender should not be just given a shunning for six weeks! I hope the whole Amish sects repent of their sex abuse (incest, bestiality, sodomy, child rape, teen rape and adult rape) and penalty negligence and act like they really have read the Bible. On the other hand, banning and shunning can be used for good purposes on light sins. It is not whether banning and shunning is at question, it is whether it should be implemented or something much more harsh such as involving the police. I grew up in the amish and was sexually abused , People ask why very little of us speak up , So many non-amish also dismiss it because they only see from the outside , I've heard my share of dismissive comments like , "well not everyone experienced that ". Or You're just so bitter" . "That doesn't mean they're bad" ..... So many people amish and non-amish have more compassion for the molesters then the victims. .... my sister in law said when she and her sister's were abused, they tried talking to their Mom about and were told to be quite about it so as not to get the abuser in trouble .
This is a great example how the "worship" of the "faith and belief" religion damages the psyche and consciousness of the "believer" to the point that rational and logical thought no longer takes place, with little chance of ever returning!
Some more so than others. And saying it happens in most or all religions doesn't excuse the acts. Would you accept it if it happened to your or your daughter(s) or relatives?
Ironic Judge Reineker is featured here. I'll have to watch this doc. The Amish vote in a block, solid Republican in Lancaster County, PA. In exchange for that political loyalty Judges like GOP Judge Reineker have historically allowed them to self police, the suffering of victims be damned.
@@maidmariondesign5097 I didn't read this as "blaming" the politics but explaining how this works - alliances between 'governing bodies', victims be damned.

Listen up, you!! Amish and Mennonite abuse is at an all-time high. Just this past month, February 2024, a local horse and buggy Mennonite bishop in Lancaster County Pennsylvania was caught, by his own adult son, in the act of sexually abusing his granddaughter, the adult son's daughter. The adult son contacted the law. To this day this bishop has not been placed in jail and it is beyond me why!!!! The granddaughter admitted to the abuse, the son witnessed it, yet he is still free. It is believed that this bishop is part of a bigger ring of child sex abuse and that the local investigator is a part of it. The plain communities, Amish and Mennonite have their own thing called CCI, I can't remember what it stands for. But it's a group that if a plain person suspects abuse, they report it to a CCI member, instead of the law. It is believed there is something really evil and corrupt about that groups leaders. Abuse is seldom, if ever, reported to the law, but rather covered up. In some cases, like this bishop case, it seems someone is getting paid off to shut up. My gut tells me it's much bigger and more involved than just the plain people. I wish I knew who I really could trust to go dig in undercover to expose all this dirty stuff. Because it's going to be huge, and make some big news when it is uncovered. How do I know all this? I know, because this was the very bishop that married my husband and I.
I believe you 100 percent!!! Russ Dizdar was actively rescuing young children boys and girls from that area. Russ Passed right before he was going to name names and get a documentary out.
Its not the Religion. Its individual's that have problems. Hey lets make it look like its a way of life and we should do something .So we can stick our noses in there door and take there rights away .
It's fairly naive to think that a secret religion wouldn't have all sorts of abusive secrets , even non secretive religions are full of abuse and worse stuff ,I can't think of any institution that is completely innocent of some kind of abuse ,if you want to love whatever God , then you don't need any church or group to do so, worship as your conscience dictates . Peace and love ,to the victims and everyone else out there x
The Amish have been an isolated cult that enjoy the luxury of not having to pay ANY taxes because they don't subscribe to government services; at least in the past, which is why the rampant incest & sexual abuse has continued generation after generation with the church forgiving offenders and most often, blaming victims. No cults/churches should be tax exempt; nor should the followers be exempt from income tax, etc. Otherwise, when crimes are prosecuted and offenders imprisoned, it puts an increased burden on taxpayers.
I'm Amish and I pay a lot of taxes, the only taxes we are exempt from are SS and Medicare and a lot of Amish even pay those. There may be some very strict Amish who live completely cut off from the world, but those are a minority, those are also where most of the abuse and lawlessness takes place.
@@QZQZQZQZQZ yea. it's almost as though, males are inherently more dominant and females are inherently more submissive, and when you go to the further ends of the bell curve of either gender, you get big extremes. like 90% of all violent crime occurs from 10% of men. these extremes when combined within the relationship of a male and female, do well to combat each others weaknesses. and just like ying and yang or black and white, or death and life, nature continues to prove everything is always balanced and good. God made no mistakes.
These r sad stories. There r many loving, God fearing people in the Amish and Mennonite churches. There r many lovely families. Like every other denomination, there r also people who are abusive. Please don't lump them all together.
Sin exist everywhere there are people. Even among the best of tribes. The victim stating that the wouldn't help because she was Amish, she just doesn't realize how many of us non-Amish also survived horrific things but Law Enforcement can't act without some hard evidence. You saying it is not enough. But yes, like many tribes who prefer to handle things on their own rather than allow local law enforcement onto the property. Mormons have had the very same issues, and several of the "mega-churches".

You don't care who they harm? Who "who" harms? People in a particular church? So does that mean people in religious/cultural groups should be allowed to do what they want?
@Lynne Williams That religious crap that you speak of, It bright and bonded communities together for centuries and centuries and centuries! I mean even a Egypt’s bow down to a God! Look what they accomplished, and we accomplish absolutely nothing, but Tierney!
One doesn't have to be Amish for this to occur. My Mother married a man that had difficulty controlling himself since my mom had three daughters. How many more are you going after? Words you are using are cover up, highest level, so I guess now we will have to hear this over and over. Warren Jess is a totally different religion. I feel for her because of what happened to her but to link all Amish together as one is very discriminating and wrong. To say the Amish, she was around or her sect, her experience is, not all Amish fit this sexual abuse. It should be investigated by the local police department, but the government has no right to take the freedom of religion away or make laws that would. What country is paying your salary? We have laws in place already and investigators for her and others. To take the right to practice any religion a way or choice to live according to your beliefs is constitutionally wrong. You have no conscience and are promoting communism. Using emotion again. A single or few cases is not every one of them.
Why do people say they're Communist, even though this IS what communist want everyone to be - you must live for the communist king there and only that king the Amish would not revert to those terms , they are a latter form of Christianity beliefs of the Messiah . That's not to say there aren't good Amish people, but this kinda shit is literally everywhere in every culture, and these isolated, self-ordained religious oriented groups are primed for it.
"highest levels of the 'church'"
huh
these are local community churches
This is a great example how the "worship" of the "faith and belief" religion damages the psyche and consciousness of the "believer" to the point that rational and logical thought no longer takes place, with little chance of ever returning!
It's a huge problem in ALL RELIGIONS.
And there you go.... blame it on politics... what BS... The Amish leaders are actually mandatory reporters...
@@maidmariondesign5097 I didn't read this as "blaming" the politics but explaining how this works - alliances between 'governing bodies', victims be damned.
@@randomcomment6068 if it wouldn't be political, the comment would read " In exchange for loyalty, Judges have allowed them (The Amish) to self police, the suffering of victums be damned"
@@maidmariondesign5097 It is very naive or disingenuous (take your pick) of you to expect other people to write exactly as you dictate in order to be 'valid' ot pass your "test" what is and what isn't.
@@randomcomment6068 it is fact that 'GOP' and 'Republican' describe a political party. using those words and then claiming it isn't political doesn't make sense.
They have cell phones and other stuff.
Amish have cell phones!
Did you really expect them to be any different than other human beings?
I love how some people get mad when it's called a cult but its always ex omish saying that. Its a FACT.
Lol.
'Sometimes'....Try constantly .
Thank you good to know
The Amish have been an isolated cult that enjoy the luxury of not having to pay ANY taxes because they don't subscribe to government services; at least in the past, which is why the rampant incest & sexual abuse has continued generation after generation with the church forgiving offenders and most often, blaming victims.
Amish certainly do pay taxes. Whyever would they not?
Amish do pay taxes. They waived their right to Social Security because they take care of their own.
He means the church as an organization is exempt from taxation in the US as it is with all religions in the country
This is bringing very strong escaping polygamy vibes
this just in, a select few humans do very violent and abusive things.
A select few, are almost always men? Although it's more to do with power than gender.... Makes you wonder.
Not all Amish have abuse. But I know there is some that do. I do believe that their beliefs are not Biblical. It's sad!
Just to set the story straight
We are not all like that!
What Is the Petition Link...I WILL Sign It ... Thank You
IT'S TERRIFYING & HEARTBREAKING.
I WOULD DEFINITELY SIGN HER PETITION BUT I DON'T KNOW IT WOULD MAKE A DIFFERENCE COMING FROM THE UK?
Amen
Please checkout “Tears of The Silenced” by Misty Griffin.
That's the way a lot of religions are.
I would also recommend watching "Murder in Amish Country". It's makes me think differently of my Amish neighbors when I visit them :(
LOOK AT SAM MULLETT.
They dress the woman so pure like nun's.
Maybe the Catholic nun's would be a perfect rescue haven.
Praying for the ones who want there freedom.
These r sad stories. There r many loving, God fearing people in the Amish and Mennonite churches. There r many lovely families. Like every other denomination, there r also people who are abusive. Please don't lump them all together.
They might have something to do with the disappearance of missing kids
Sound like North Korea to me.
The old Keith Green song you call yourselves Christian but really your not
Surely they pay taxes? How can they let this go on, they are not that disconnected from the rest of this country!!!
Another cult...
Abysmal. Very dark.
I so feel for all who are being abused and who have huge difficulty challenging the system because they have been indoctrinated since birth.
This world is going crazy.
Very brave Amish lasses who spoke out.
May Life smile on them now. ✝️
So are the Mennonites different n ok safe etc or are these situations in every single groups of the Amish I always thought there was some loving kind n great ppl I get we all have bad ppl no matter where n what walk of life etc
Tearing down good people for viewers smh
That is not true in all Amish communities. This is true in some. Very misleading in saying it is amish....... period.
Abuse ev÷Ryan wher.
I don't know it this is true. What I heard on amish moral is mem 1st, horse 🐴 2nd and woman 3rd. If that was true there moral is derived by animal but NOT by God
Not surprised their like a colt they even do animals js
No colt! The only colt you should be worrying about is the US government!
LOL
I love peacock but I don't trust religion bashing. I don't care who they harm.
They’ve already canceled Jesus Christ, why not go after the Amish!!
@@yodead369 good! the less religious crap we have in this world, the better off we will be. Lets deal with reality instead of this magical friend crap

@meghan macqueen Well the government sure is allowed to do what they want! You’re taking it out on the wrong person.
@Lynne Williams
That religious crap that you speak of, It bright and bonded communities together for centuries and centuries and centuries! I mean even a Egypt’s bow down to a God! Look what they accomplished, and we accomplish absolutely nothing, but Tierney!

One doesn't have to be Amish for this to occur. My Mother married a man that had difficulty controlling himself since my mom had three daughters. Both men & women can be predictors, anywhere in the world. The spirit/or Spirit of a human being determines whether they go to Heaven or hell...malignant narcissists, sociopaths & psychopaths are everywhere, unfortunately. Be safe everyone 🙏✝️🙏
I guess a gendar change isn't abuse for girls but being Amish is?. My ex girlfriend told me she wanted end me, she didn't get in trouble, instead they acted like I was the bad guy. Maybe it's just more fair in the Amish community, statistically out here you have a 95% chance of being made out to be the bad "guy" if you are male.
You aound like an abuser upset that they are trying to take away peoplw for you to abuse you demon.
@@SAPHYTYRA Oh why do you say that that I'm a bad guy? because I spoke up about being abused by a woman?. Sounds like you don't want victims to speak up. Why are 95 percent of people punished by the system male, do you think women are really 95 percent better people than men?
@@SAPHYTYRA You make yourself out to be a child of God, but you call me a demon when I tell you the truth. If you read the Bible you would be appalled if you are upset by what I said.
What are you on?
@@QZQZQZQZQZ You'll have to be a little more articulate and descriptive in your question for me to know what you are talking about. I'm not in your head, you'll have to use a few more words.
Why are you now attacking and lumping all Amish with this young lady's experience? The Amish are not dumb people. Like all society these things happen. Why are you attacking religion? A single or few cases is not every one of them.
maybe not dumb but severely uneducated,, a lot of in breeding . The average amish person is not very bright by today's standards
ok they are dumb. listening to what they believe, there is no way you can claim they are intelligent
Nobody said anything about outlawing being Amish. You need to do some research. Start with Eli yoder's YT channel.
Do rearch. 2 in 10 are molested.
Why do people say they're Communist, even though this IS what communist want everyone to be - you must live for the communist king there and only that king the Amish would not revert to those terms , they are a latter form of Christianity beliefs of the Messiah . But sometimes the youths do need to have friends and closeness to society as all youths do . If the government can help them solve their issues safely all the better ..
