I still haven’t had a chance to open Unicron so I hope it isn’t broken or missing anything. I actually ordered a second one in Australia (home country) but the company taking the orders had a problem with my credit card and didn’t let me know until just after orders closed, so maybe orders like that also ended up being counted and manufactured
I don’t think the HISS tank was packaged in retro packaging because it wasn’t advertised as a retro HISS. It was marketed as a modern HISS to go with your modern classified collection, but one of he unlocks is the retro cockpit. And I could be wrong, but I think the original red HISS was a Sears or some other department store exclusive way back in the 80s.
Good for the ones that got their Haslabs Mike... I didn't need anything offered so I'm good... When I got there the only thing available were magic the gathering and the Skystriker...😀💡👋🎄
What I think is close to the mark of what you stated earlier, that there are extras in case of replacement requirements, etc. I think they wait a few months or maybe a year until all claims die down. Now you're stuck with inventory you don't want to pay taxes on. So they offered them up. The HISS wasn't up there because they still have to wait to handle QC claims. That means there is the highest possibility that this same situation will occur NEXT year. Whatever HISS tanks are left over, they will put them up for sale. It is my belief that Hasbro will release the HISS in a bare bones "retro" option as a Deluxe, maybe Pulse-Exclusive offering in the future. There is no way they just decide to shelve the HISS mold and the figure molds that they already invested in.
I could definitely see them releasing the Hiss 3 with no weapons except the 2 cannons like the vintage one does. No side missles and Gatling guns. Just a basic vintage hatch.
Extra stock is most likely exactly on the money. They've cleared (are clearing) house with layoffs, and are likely clearing warehouse space. It *_IS_* most likely they will be producing less quantities of figs, vehicles, toys in general, moving forward, because retailers are ordering less (because customers have been buying less at MSRP). Space costs to rent, operate & maintain, and maybe they're exploring options of a smaller footprint. OR maybe they're looking at the schedule of incoming haslab projects and other retail products and are trying to be more efficient with how they stock that warehouse. I wouldn't be surprised if they uncovered some logistic inefficiencies when the masssive quantity of backed H.I.S.S. tanks came in (or were scheduled to come in). Is it possible that they dumped a lot of their stock to the Ross's & Ollies in order to have space for new product, haslab(s) included? While I know Target sends stuff their way, Target didn't carry items like the viper 3pack. Extra items for breakage, that's as old as unicron, you get to a point to where you say, enough is enough. As for the relatively recent skystriker also being put up for this sale bundle... who knows, perhaps super7 will do one in the next year or 2, in which case, why should hasbro keep theirs? Also, we know mcfarlane is doing page punchers, but what if he does vehicles, like he did with DC superfriends, but throws in a comic to keep it on brand? Let brian and/or todd pay the O&M storage fees for what they'll supply customers for the brands they're temporarily leasing.
I was live on the site when they listed. Hasbro listed everything at 10:58. Less than 45 seconds later, Unicron was sold out. Star Saber sold out after a minute. They clearly didn't have any substantial stock. Luckily, I already have Pulse so it wasn't a big deal to me. It was an utter joke. The fact they listed the items TWO MINUTES EARLY really screwed alot of folks who just paid for Hasbro Pulse.
Seems like no clocks match so I refreshed several times starting 5 min til to get a screen capture of what was available. I figured they might disappear once sold out but they kept them up and put sold out. I bet a lot of new premium members are upset. Still worth it if you go in on any haslab in the next year
Hasbro really needs to sell these on a secondary market. As a previous customer, I feel that if Haslab is not 1 and done, and they do offer a second production or sell "overproduced" items it will absolutely hurt their business. That's regular retail not Haslab crowdfunding. Why wouldn't customers just buy a rerelease or wait for someone to list one on market for less than MSRP. After all look at the majority of Hasbro deluxe figures and how their price just keeps falling. Haslab should be a "reserved list" in a number of ways.
I got the mail 5 mins late and all that was left were skystriker and one of the hero quest. I'm certain they made more than 111 extra Giant man for reapairs too... but we still don't get Skrull head. Which I think is... just poor business, I cancelled my 3 and they took me 3 calls and 4 emails over 3 and a half weeks to get an answer out of them that the Skrull head would not be made, so they strung me along almost beyond the cancelation window. I'm certainly going to look out for a future Hiss stock clearance. I'm fine if Hasbro reused the main Hiss shell, but no extras, just hard treads like Scrap Irons Drone, dark canopy, no missiles or guns or plates, just a new mold turret. It still makes the Haslab ultra unique with all the extras. They probably had less than a dozen of the toys, maybe a few dozen of the board games, and it was you can only get one of anything I heard. I do understand those who backed who may be salty about this clearance, they have every right to be. How would it be if you almost backed to 24K and were 200 off, and later Hasbro sold 300 out of 1000 extra printed parts units to just random people? How would it feel if next year they offered a few more Unicrons because they just found more hidden stock? It's Hasbro moving the goalposts more just like they can change rules and offerings mid crowd fund because it's all inhouse they make the rules. Glenda didn't make retro Scarlett, Retro Scarlett was ALWAYS going to happen yet some are hell bent on Hasbro worship.
I just pulled the trigger for the spirit halloween life size proton pack for $200 last week and I couldn't be more satisfied and couldn't care less about another shameless hasblow cash grab!
@@tydiriumhanger1320 they have, they're well worth the price and super easy to mod, even full price and an Alice frame seperate it's still half the price of the haslab pack!
I havent bought any haslab projects yet. Nothing i needed to have so far. I almost pulled the trigger on unicron and galactus but those are the only ones i was interested in.
Nobody should be surprised they had extras but I would not depend on a warehouse sale in the future like some are hinting. They did similar with …I think Fort Max overstock years ago before pulse.
Dude I don't care. I funded the Hiss and I am not a selfish or butt hurt about them reusing the tooling. Like that makes my fucking tank any less awesome. Ha! I want the HISS III, bring it on. Stripped or not. I'll buy it. I just got 1 HISS and seeing how awesome it is I realized it could be flanked by 2 blue hiss tanks and the whole thing would look awesome. Plus a lot of new fans who were not collecting Joes at the time should have a chance to get this awesome vehicle.
Totally agree. I didn't buy that thing to feel special about myself. I bought it to enjoy the tank. And if they re-release it I'll probably buy another and all the better if those who missed the first short run for whatever reason can now have a chance.
Yeah I think this is the stock they keep for replacements, BUT I still dont understand why these things are one and done. A blue or retro Hiss tank, with no lights or electronics and only the driver for one hundred dollars less and people would still buy it. They could go the other way. Raise the prices of figures to thirty, then they release these vehicles with NO figures and charge the same current price and when they do release it with a figure its 30 dollars more than what we paid with figure before.
What would be crazy! If some how started going back and re-releasing all these projects thru that Retro-vault. Now that was be insane! The community will go absolutely Bonkers!! On one Hand you'll have the people who see this stuff as Investments and there Stock just Dropped 😆lol and on the other hand you'll have people who would now have the opportunity to own one!! 😮 Than there's those who paid $1500 who would want jump out the Window! 😂😂 Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 Mike!
Guess they were lyin' their nuts & their coochies off with the notion that if you didn't get it right then and there during the crowdfunding period, you just weren't gonna get it.
Fed-Ex lost my Deathsaurus. After talking to Fed-Ex if they find it they’ll return to Hasbro and I won’t be contacting. Hasbro gave me one option, refund. If they have this extra stock why couldn’t I have got the option of a replacement. If history repeats itself I doubt I’ll get through Pulse’s order process. At least I’m getting my money back. I’m not sure if I’ll try to find a Deathsaurus in the secondary market.
I’m good with them selling off the extras . They’re not reproducing it, just selling off the leftovers after distribution and an acceptable waiting period met to address q/c issues. At least they had the foresight to make extra. We’d be hearing the non stop complaining if they made the exact number and they couldn’t address an item that arrived broken or prematurely failed. At least they didn’t inflate the price and beat you over the head like resellers. And with it not being a reissue the people that did buy for the sole purpose of reselling aren’t screwed because there is still more people wanting it out there than there is product.
One cool thing about this is there are collectors who have wanted these and got them. Original backers were not done dirty in this but will give false hopes to those wanting a Hiss or other haslabs. Even if they open the vault for other past projects it will be hard to get them when they sell out in minutes on a random Monday
@@tydiriumhanger1320 very true. I snagged the proton pack since I missed that. Resellers regularly have them going for $1,000 to $1,200 and I couldn’t justify that. I decided not to renew the Hasbro premium membership this December, it hasn’t been worth it for me living in Hawaii. They still make me pay shipping and I wake up and everything they’ve released has been sold out.

Sounds like you are coporate splaining and deflecting from the fact that when they were saying noone would ever be able to buy a haslab if they dont fund it in its original listing . Oh ,and didnt they say we would never get a goblin queen ? Is that a whole new figure or some more ' extras ' they had lying around ?
Yep the Goblin Queen fiasco is a mess but now we seem to get a fully clothed version. What would you expect them to do if they had 30 or so extra Haslabs left after all issues have been resolved? Ebay starting bid at the original price and see what happens? Blitz the market?

The Red Hiss looks cool too. The retro GI Joe packaging still looks great in 2023 over that other modern packaging IMO.
