Not sure what about this makes anyone a "Fake" hippy... all I see is genuinely beautiful people, smiling their asses off, having an incredible time. Nothing fake at all about that.
rorytambores one could argue it was always about the fasion statement...that the hippie movement began through the influence of the CIA as a way to stamp out a rising anger among the youth about the injustices of the Vietnam War instead of focusing on real life problems, the hippie generation chose the route of escapeism through drugs and music - allowing the military industrial machine to grow to the all-consuming beast it is today, as there was no-one left to keep it in check - everyone was out getting stoned at some orgy...err..festival Don't misunderstand me, this music is fantastic and most "hippies" are the type of people I would like to associate with - but I am pretty convinced the whole hippie culture was always about escapeism and fasion and being "cool" - Phish are just copying the format of what the Grateful Dead were doing back in the 60s - only it is targeted for the new generation - if you listen closely to their lyrics, they pay constant tribute to their Masonic enablers who assisted their rise to stardom -> Ghost is a song with an underlying meaning related to this more to things than meet the eye - keep on exploring! happy trails ;)

i think just like everything else, there are some that get it, and other's that ruin it for everyone else let's call a spade a spade...if you are making active decisions in your life in support of your beliefs, that is genuine - but if you are driving your dad's mercedes benz to the fesitivals where you are sporting your brand new "tour shirts" and facebooking your "coolness" as you do drugs and act popular, you are another hipocrite "neo-hippie" as you called it oh well, what the hell do I know - I own a television so I am already selling out to the military industrial complex in some ways myself - everybody has stuff to work on in their lives, no exceptions :-D - fun discussion!
Although this was posted in October of 2012. It was from August 17th a few months earlier. I remember well, because that was my birthday. And I was there in that crowd. What a fabulous day!! What a wonderful song. ❤️
Hard to express how much this song actually subliminally/purposefully changed my life upon hearing it. I was like 16 at the time, took my first tab ever whatever chem it was, and it didnt hit for four hours so i took another... and it all hit... and this song came on just scrolling facebook as it happened, stopped and watched this video and had way way way too much adrenaline and went skateboarding down hills until 2AM.. A marvelous day. This song's form was a pre-cursor to me then becoming quite a heady wooky deadhead/phan/bisco lover and papadosio fan forever... Crazy how so much time has passed and how much has changed yet this song is timeless and stands still flying through the cosmos yknow? True shit going on here. Real feelings and real music. Life changing stuff. Happiness and pride and a community and love and kindness. Peace everyone
TH-cam keeps sending this song to me. I have no idea why. At my most stressful moment, this song played, and with the moment, everything was okay. Im at my desk now, working for my family's promotional merchandise company. I just want them to be here forever. I love both of my parents so much. Thank you TH-cam for making me try something new. This song by Papadosio is beautiful and I will always remember the help it gave me at a difficult time, when I was too selfish and conceded to listen to others. Find Your Cloud is a favorite for me

Rootwire is a festival experience unlike any other. Anyone looking to be a part of something just for the sake of connecting with other human beings and feeling all the love there is to go around then this is the place you've been seeking your whole life. Awesome song and awesome vibe. Just wish the video/director/editing fit the song a bit better. I mean I know he had tooooòons of footage and it's a long song so I'm sure it took forever and there is only so much time. But you can tell whoever put this together just jammed and mashed and smashed a bunch of clips together with no thought about the song or the message. This song is so darn emotive and dynamic. Even something as simple as showing more subdued people and atmosphere during the slower parts and then people bet more dancing and moving and expressive during the faster parts. Or maybe show the paintings in stages as they go along with finished paintings as the end. It doesn't have to be perfect by any means, but just an once of care or thought would go a long way here. The cuts and what was shown when, when things cut, etc. Was driving me crazy I wanted to recut it right there! It's like starting wizard of Oz 10 mins into Dark Side and then watching the whole thing off!

Out of all the many festivals I've been to, Ohio Rootwires were my favorite. There was an extra energy. So many new things happening.
