Season 2 and 3 are the definition of "when the budget hits". Just by looking up bits of fight you can see the difference. Also, it's a series with next to no usual fanservice, power-ups with no explanation or spointaneous love interests. Personal favourite among shounen along with Dr. Stone
World Trigger is so good, I really want the adaptation of all the manga! The power system is one of my favorites in all media and the fight strategies are top-tier! Great reaction! 😍
The reason why the fourth opening (aka the first op of season 2) was such a change visually from the ones before is that season 2 was aired 5 years after the end of season one so in 2021 compared to the first season which aired from 2014 to 2016. I remember being so surprised when they announced the anime would return after such a long time.
Geneva Convention would have something of a field day with this anime. The main cast are members of a paramilitary organization... while also being in high school... Anime things.

Before season 2 and 3 were a thing this anime had the most unusual ending I had ever encountered. It just stopped in the middle of an arc. No attempt of any kind to tie up any of the story lines. There just isn't a next episode. The author got sick and stopped writing the manga, so the show stopped to wait with the manga. I was so hype when they decided to pick it back up.
I LOVE World Trigger so much! It is one of my all time favorite anime series! I know that you will love this series because it is so awesome. It is so underrated, but in my personal opinion World Trigger is way better then a lot of the super popular anime series ever had time to be! Such a wide cast of likable characters, wonderful fights and animation, a very unique power and fighting system. YUMA KUGA, the white haired boy is my absolute favorite. He is really powerful, funny, and definitely the star of the show! I hope that you get around to watching World Trigger,it is an absolute hidden gem and a joy to watch!
World Trigger is truly an underrated show, an hidden gem, it's amazing, the characters are likeable as hell with a lot of great development, and the power system is so well though, I dare to say, it's on par with nen. And without spoiling much, the tactical approach in this show is incredible
I have good and bad news for you: good: Upcoming arc is actually very close to being finished and that means they will finally have material for new season bad: It's very much character interaction and dialogue focus so it will require more thinking before adaptation to make it appealing to watch for fans of seasons 1-3. I absolutely love the arc, but it has far less action then every single one before it. Combat for this arc is replaced with combat simulators, which can look amazing if animated right, but are very different
Technically there are also Spotters and Trappers, but they are very rare (I think there was one spotter so far, and two trappers?). Oh, and All-Rounders like Kitora
I love all first season openings, but when I heard the second season opening by an awesome K-pop band that's way better than BTS. I knew it was the best one I've heard
