Definitely my favorite scene of the show. I’ve never seen this episode without crying. Also, yes there’s a movie, yes it’s canon, and yes you should see it. It takes place between two episodes chronologically, but it’s best watched after the show’s finale

Uzumaki isn't my favorite work of Junji Ito because its ending isn't necessarily despair inducing. It's spiral like nature implies a cycle of things inside it. Unlike his other stories this one IS solvable but the order of operations is nearly impossible to get right. Kirie and Shuichi almost had it, had they not got so close to the temple of the spiral the curse would have finally relented. But because of the nature of spiraling madness why wouldn't you go inspect the spiral temple? Even when reborn as new people they will probably follow a similar path. That's the true unavoidable horror.

I don’t think you’re quite at Dressrosa yet (great arc), but just so you know, like this spoiler, there is an intro in that arc (which I think is coming up next for you) which gives away one of the story’s major spoilers. And it is definitely a spoiler. Shows you a character you aren’t supposed to see at all just yet.

The story is pretty much the epitome of making it up as they go along because this was never meant to be one overarching stories they're all compilation of short stories that share the same theme of spirals, because there are standalone parts that has nothing to do with the finale like the girl that got sucked in by her scar, the lighthouse, the peeping guy, the pregnant mosquito and mushroom babies

For now, I'll just say that your discussion of helping vs punishing Toga reminds me of something I was thinking about yesterday: the fact that Toga's parents and doctors will never receive repercussions for mistreating this young child really, really bothers me. They'll likely never see the error of their ways by themselves either. Just "oh, looks like we were right about that girl. She was a monster." It makes my stomach churn. All Toga ever wanted was to love and be loved in return, and to be herself without fear. And she could've, if it weren't for that mistreatment. To add to that, it looks like they used different wording in the dub, but in the sub her doctor refers to Toga as having been "perverted" by her quirk. It's disgusting. I've been thinking about Toga nonstop since this came out in the sub. I keep fantasizing a happy ending for her. She's just a child. And yes.....I cried a lot 😭

The animation complains are still around but it's not really a complaint for me. It may be still but the art still looks great, and with the use of colour it looks better than S1 even. Add in the sheer hype and I still loved these past couple of episodes. Looks like we're taking a look at Reo and Nagi next week!

great hype episode. Since seeing all the frame lock/ ppt lock memes after episode 2, Its annoyingly become hard to overlook there are still frames. But I do think it hasnt reduced the overall quality. Great monologues, hype mind games and clashes, fitting music, and for frames that are still, they are energetic and vibrant. I am entertained. And if something can entertain me as much as this, overlooking the shortcomings isnt even a tough or needed question. A short One piece related comment: About the latest episode " A FAN LETTER ". as you know OP has stopped airing normal episodes last week, and before starting fishman island next week we had a beautiful episode today. Its about a small girls admiration for strawhats and specially Nami and what happens to her while the strawhats re unite after the 2 year time skip. Beautiful story, animation and art style that is among the best of OP, felt like a ghibli movie. Direction of Megumi Ishitani, her name enough gaurantees a 9.9 rating, and she delivered. I know the remake of Fishman island you might watch in your own time, but this one episode can easily fit into your list of One Piece movies and you can watch it right away as it has " NO SPOILERS " for you, dont even have to be concerned about OP/ED. Its a 24 min epi, and you have to see it. In case you miss this comment I might even post it just 1 more time on your next one piece vid. :)

Also, another thing, if next episode you need to take a break I suggest you pause for a bit during the commercial slide in

There's a tad bit after the ending in the next episode for you stay watching, but this episode was emotionally amazing, didn't get me as much as the last episode but still incredible

Man, I remember watching that ending and then immediately scouring the internet for news of a season two or movie or anything that would satisfy that cliffhanger lol. I was FRANTIC. It's iconic though. Both the ending and the whole show in general. I said this in a previous comment, but seriously who thinks of all this?!? It's so intricately woven in so many seemingly random and unexpected ways. Odd Taxi is a masterpiece through and through.

Not only is Pandaman an Easter Egg Oda likes to write into his story, but some of the contexts in which he appears or is referenced actually imply things about his lore, which have led to the conception of some wild theories that Pandaman is secretly an important figure in-universe.

the episode was so crazy, i knew it’d get dark but i wasn’t expecting it to be THAT dark

The writing her was especially clever because like in other Shonen series Momo and Ken NEED that training arc, as in even working together Turbo Granny alone still has a chance to kill them both. This was before the situation naturally got worse when we as the audience are informed that Turbo Granny has pooled her power together with a Bound Spirit. We are all set to lock-in for that training arc when Turbo Granny(or the Bound Spirit) moves the timetable up by months to their final battle. What's even more interesting is that Turbo Granny by herself has reason to NOT let Ken and Momo train, having seen Momo's totally unleashed Chi defeat the Serpoians. Neither she nor the Bound Spirit wanna have a taste of that. Furthermore this powerful Chi might be why Turbo Granny wanted to eat Momo, to gain even further power. After surmounting this obstacle I expect this to our first MAJOR Ken powerspike, getting to keep Turbo Granny AND the Bound Spirits powers all to himself as well as his dong being returned.

And Grandma's finally here to take the anime community by storm and just make everyone say "would". She's as unhinged as the rest of the cast and is a fantastic addition. As for sub and dub I've said it before but I'm always going to be primarily a sub watcher, you've mentioned being more immersed if it's a native language, but it's the opposite for me if I notice a mouthflap not in sync with the audio or if I can tell something has been obviously changed (jelly doughnuts, anyone?). And while a lot of it is a remnant of dubs being not so great back when I first started watching anime, I will say that seeing your reactions for dubs has improved my opinions of them as a whole. I've noticed dubs getting better over the years because of games but I haven't experienced them in anime as much. The industry has really come a long way in the past decade. Time to go beat a creepy grandma in a foot race!

I wonder when you got into anime?, I think people who prefer newer anime probably didn't get into anime early on for example the 90s or early 2000s but I could be wrong, newer anime is great too but nostalgia has a big effect on people

I like the sound effects in the openings, Not alot of anime openings do that so it's different in a good way

The show really is something special not every aspect of it holds up But the moments that do make it indomitable I remember Yuri Lowenthal and hos wife Tara Platt (Spiderman Ps4 and Yuri Watanabe spiderman ps4) where dping promotion for the spidey game and they came to the local comic book shop in Dublin, Ireland And i asked Yuri to do the Gurren Lagann quote for me So having Simon say "Don't believe in yourself, believe in the me that believes in you" was huge for me back then (my dad was dying at that time and something simple was so moving) and Simon is my favourite character in the show even more than Kamina so it meant a lot

You’d think cowboy bebop wouldn’t be too hard to adapt. The Netflix version just took so much of the art out of it. In my opinion, I consider half of Bebop’s storytelling is done through its music and shot direction. They totally removed any nuances from all that and leaned way into heavy-handed drama.

I just attended Bushiroad EXPO 2024 in Manila last Saturday and Sunday, October 12 and 13 and on both days I met Anon's seiyuu and the guitarist for the real-life MyGO!!!!! the lovely Tateishi Rin-chan in the autograph sessions, and these autograph sessions are only limited to 30 people and slots are won by a lottery kinda like a form of a gacha and you have to pick a number from 1-30 then it qualifies you to purchase her Bromide which is like a postcard with a picture of her in it and that Bromide is where she will sign and luckily for me in both days I'm one of those lucky participants who got a chance to meet her and I swear I can't describe how beautiful and radiant she is, she's so nice, friendly and she really is such a sweetheart.

Finally a dub reaction ya know how hard it is to find one these reactors got no regard for dub only watchers (I've seen the sub it's not worth having to read all the time for it)

This has got to be one of the best made episodes in all of anime and I’m confident about that.

As far as the manga goes at least, I don't think it stays at the same quality as these earlier episodes. It keeps getting better.
