- Broadway star, Sutton Foster, is at Kleinfeld looking for her dream wedding dress. She has brought along a big entourage of friends and family, and none of them are afraid to say their honest opinion about the dresses she tries on.

I could never shoot down a dress that my friend comes out striding and looking so happy and comfortable in.

to be fair, they edited out the rest of what she was saying after the napkin comment. if you listen closely she says “at first, I thought you looked like a napkin, but then…” and then it cuts. some friends are more honest with each other and they all ended up loving the dress in the end. plus it seems like 8 years later they’re all still close friends!

I didn't realize just how much of her Princess Fiona was HER. This woman is absolute dynamite and the HOTTEST napkin you'll ever see.
When she played Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes, too. The sass and attitude and little side glances to the camera are all _so_ reminiscent of when I got to see the proshot of that in cinema, her face is so expressive

I think she was intimidated by the ball gowns. Ladies need to have confidence to fulfill their dreams.
Hahaha, so actually, she was picked super early on in the process of creaking Shrek the Musical, so quite a lot of that role was written specifically FOR her!! There’s a series on the Shrek TH-cam channel, I think, where they talk about it.
She's gonna be such a lovely bride, she's got a lovely smile and anything she chooses will suit her just fine. The most important thing is that she's happy with her choice, not her 'friend'

I love Sutton so much. She’s so humble and kind. I met her when I was in 10th grade at a show she did in my small home town. She just walked around chatting with everyone it was so sweet. I told her I was auditioning for shrek the musical and was going for Fiona. She wished me the best of luck and hugged me! I got the role 🥲

She even bought the exact same belt from the video to wear with the dress.
I thought she would add a veil to convince her friend, did not expect the belt. But it made the dress just perfect - it seems she did not wanted to wear a veil on her wedding.
That first dress looked stunning on her .
I noticed this was a re-run too. I just saw her in "Anything Goes" performance, she is so fabulous.
Makes sense now why they didn't mention 'Younger', which she starred in, since it hadn't happened yet at the time of filming.
I love how sure she is of herself and how confidently she strode in that dress even after her entourage shooting it down.
Well, when you are pretty and have a tiny figure, it's fairly easy to be confident. She did look lovely in all the dresses.

It’s called a handkerchief hemline or skirt, so that is kinda the point. 😊 Napkin, handkerchief - who cares? I think it’s a beautiful dress and I have always loved that style. And it fits this bride perfectly as you said! 🙌🏻

I met Sutton Foster in NYC when she was with her parents. She was the sweetest, nicest lady. A genuinely down-to-earth doll!
The first dress fit her like a glove. It was perfect for her body shape and height!

The friend meant well. It did look like napkins. She has a great figure and that first gown did look nicer - bur not breathtaking. The gown she chose did nothing for her - other than make her happy - which is the important thing. So....as long as she is happy. Wish her all the best.

When I see unlimited budget I always think they could get so much more if they had it bespoke/customized/designed.

I agree. I am not fond of watching the Kleinfelds episodes anymore. I like the UK, Australia, and Ireland episodes. They have some very unique styles and at much better prices then the jacked up tags in New York.

I LOVE almost all the Pnina dresses except the “ naked” look ones. Pnina is so unique!
Usually I don't love dresses with this sort of bottom (the "napkin" style I suppose?) but damn she rocks it! And somehow that top complements the bottom really well...a fabulous choice that suited her personality.
With all the dresses in the store, I expected them to show her a variety of styles and shapes. I’m glad she likes the dress because her friends changed their opinions to please her.
They did show her other dresses. She kept going back to this one.

This is not how this works. For example initially I didn’t particularly like my sister’s wedding dress (I didn’t say anything though) but as soon as I realized that that’s what she really loves I also loved it. Not to please her bur because that’s what matters with a wedding dress.
I just love the humor she brings to her bridal appointment. I can’t think of a time I have ever seen that on Say Yes to the Dress
I LOVE Sutton Foster. She starred in Bunheads which sadly was cancelled after only 2 seasons. She’d look good in a paper bag as the saying goes. But you could just see her face light up in the dress she chose.

I saw her premiere in Thoroughly Modern Millie on Broadway twenty years ago. It was the best musical I've ever seen in both New York and London's West End. She's still adorable all grown up!

Her friends and family seem awesome. Even when they didn't like things, they were able to say it in ways that didn't seem to hurt her feelings too much, and more importantly, to change their tunes (no pun intended) when they saw how happy the dress made her.

She is so sweet, just like I imagined her to be. She looks lovely in the dress that she chose. I just wish that the entourage (this goes for all entourages) were less vocal if they see that the bride loves the dress and isn't going to embarrass herself in it on the wedding day. They are there to support her choice, not choose the dress for her. Her Dad was so sweet as well.

I agree. Its the tailoring and structure which make the dress unique. The rhinestone belt cheapens and detracts from it. A custom fabric belt may have worked but it didn’t need one.

Like with the veils, the belt is kind of a psychological tool to get the entourage on board after they've trash-talked the dress. So then they're like "I wasn't sure about it before, but now I see it with the belt, it's just perfect!". Even though almost nothing's changed. 😂
