    Clone Wars really does give so much more perspective on Anakin. The Jedi really screwed him and others without question, even when they knew they were wrong. After he clears Ahsoka's name, I love the scene where all the Jedi Masters are just like "We're sorry. Now you have the privilege of coming back to our group." Never came off as genuine. Always gave off the vibe that they would turn on you in a heartbeat.

    • @Toocoolforschool573
      @Toocoolforschool573 3 ปีที่แล้ว +328

      That was one of the reasons anakins fall to the dark side and the Jedi really were bad and even accused Ahsoka

    • @vullord666
      @vullord666 3 ปีที่แล้ว +267

      To be fair, “most” of the Jedi Master’s apologies at least sounded sincere (though, they shouldn’t have let it come to that point to begin with), but then Mace Windu came in with the “it actually turns out we still weren’t wrong. You were meant to go through all this shit to prove yourself good enough for us” and of course he still had to be upitty with her after she captured Maul for them and had information to share.
      Edit: Anyway, yeah. The problem with the Jedi AND the sith is that they’re both extremes on opposite ends and essentially the same. At the end of the day an extreme on either side is causing problems and not getting stuff done. Moderates are how we progress and get along. I think Obi-Wan and Yoda both realized that when training Luke and being a lot more lenient with him. It would have been interesting if the sequel trilogy leaned into that and had Ahsoka and Luke rebuilding the Jedi (and potentially the sith) into a moderate group with much more freedom and better teachings. Maul and Vader’s story show that the Sith themselves have similar predicaments to the Jedi and again, if they were just raised in a moderate environment I don’t see why either have to be causing problems.

      @@Toocoolforschool573 Anakin’s fall to the dark side was no one’s fault but his own, and Palpatine’s. Look into the lives of Obi-Wan or Ahsoka, both endured extremely traumatic experiences and yet not once did they give into the dark. The Jedi Order was incorrigibly rigid, arrogant and even foolish in some respects, but Anakin’s fall was not their fault.

    It's really hard to imagine the Anakin who goes out of his way to save a droid (remember how sad he was when he lost R2?), who's always been willing to sacrifice himself for the others without hesitation, to turn into someone merciless. I blame the Jedi order for his downfall. Anakin has always listened to his heart, but that was against their rules... They abandoned him when he most needed them.

    • @An.Unsought.Thought

      Yeah I mean look at Mace Windu.... Dude was such a wild card, probably more than Anakin ever was. Yet he was a Jedi Master. Not only that but he decided, right in front of Anakin, to become the judge, jury and executioner of Palpatine. Anakin was right that Windu shouldn't resort to vigilante justice without any trial whatsoever.. especially while Palpatine was on the floor. Both him and Anakin could have worked together to restrain him and arrest him. Had Mace Windu acted more like Obi Wan or Yoda, Anakin likely would have stayed good. But in that instance the Jedi were revealed once again to be hypocrites. Once again to play by their own rules. They had assumed Palpatines guilt just as they had with Ahsoka. Making a fair trial that much more important in Anakin's eyes. Anakin slicing off Windu's hand to stop him from murdering Palpatine was the morally right thing to do. I hate to say it but the fall of rhe Jedi Order was probably the best thing to happen to the Galaxy. Sure the Empire was strict and authoritarian but they were consistent.

      Anakin fall wasn't because of one thing over another. It was a whole lot of things coming together that lead him to darkside.
      Most people assume Palpatine did all these things turn Anakin. In reality he didn't have to do much. The Jedi Council did most of the work themselves.
      The Council never saw Anakin for what he really was...a change. When you get right down to it that's was his purpose. He was always destine to change the order.
      The council refuse to see that it need to change. That it has become complacent and stuck on rules and codes. It lost sight that they serve the force. They supposed to trust it and let it guid them. Anakin was the voice of the force. He represented all the things the Jedi were not. Instead of see that and embracing it and letting Anakin guide them as much as they guide him. They rebuked it and scorned it.
      This is why Anakin fell. The points when order could have helped him and really guided him they turn back on him. In so doing so sealed their fate.
      When you look they could stepped in made an acception and saved his mother. This would have given him more time to mature. Maybe in that time he could been better at accepting loss.
      Had they not had rules against love and relationships. Then Anakin could been more open about his relationship with Padma and the Jedi could have help him figure out his visions.
      So there all these points that lead to Anakin fall. Anakin was fated to change the Jedi order one way or another. They Jedi failed to understand this. So because Jedi were unwilling to change it was forced on them.
      Anakin is like a storm. If you grow up on farm or ranch you know storms can be destructive and deadly but with it comes restoration. That is exactly what Anakin was a Storm.

    I have never watched any of the animated series - I watched this to find out who she was in Mandalorian. This looks amazing and heartbreaking. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but this relationship seems so much more organic than Obi-Wan's. Like it would have been much more powerful a story has Ashoka been the one fighting him on Mustafa.

    This was beautifully done and I had tears in my eyes by the ending because of how well structured this video was. You really built it up nicely and showcased the rapport Anakin and Ahsoka had and how the bond between them was as profound as it was. Vader is my favorite movie villain and has been since the beginning, and witnessing his gradual fall to the Dark Side was painful to watch because it crept up on him little by little. Next thing he knew he was in it too deep to get out and the pathos of Vader is one of the reasons he occupies that status with me. The new school (female) fans who snark about "SKYWALKER MEN ARE EMO BITCHES," don't understand that the Skywalker men go through hell and back and it takes a toll on them. They don't Get it. Well done, sir!

    Let’s be fully honest: The Jedi Order (Post Qui-Gon Jinn) created Darth Vader. They were arrogant, pompous, classist and they ruled harshly. They NEVER should have paired Obi-Wan with Anakin knowing that Anakin was as strong and emotional as he was. Ahsoka and Padmè could have helped Anakin navigate the force and his emotions in a healthy and constructive way to make him stronger and sharper but they guided him too firmly. After Anakin lost his mother they should have known that his prominent female relationships were at the core of his stability. And the Jedi Order fumbled the bag with all three of them.

      @@corgigod5482 then you can blame Qui-Gon, because that is the reason Obi-wan was made his master (also the only reason Anakin was accepted in the first place). Had Qui-Gon lived the story of Anakin would have been very different as Qui-Gon would have been his master and had the ability to train him correctly.

    Fuck, this is the most powerful and heart wrenching part of Anakin and Ahsoka’s arc. Freedom from the Jedi Order made Ahsoka free to live her life. Staying with the Order led Anakin to be a slave of the Darkside. Clone Wars made Anakin my favorite SW character. I love him 🥺

    Every time, every single time I see them my heart breaks again. Through every single thing, they went through I'm always hurt again. They had arguably one of the best master, padawan relationships in Star Wars. It's always them, it's always the small moments where they banter or save each other or even lose their minds trying to help each other. They shared a true bond of friendship and whenever I see what happened I'm devastated more than any other event. They did such an amazing job of curating their relationship, but it pains me to see what happens to them, to see what happens after she left him.

    Ahsoka’s shriek of “NO” in the jedi temple when she learns Vader is Anakin is just so distraught. They really were like a brother and sister. Ahsoka’s loyalty, even when he’s Vader, is so crazy strong. And how much Anakin cares for her and tries to protect her in TCW makes me smile yet also cry when i think of the scene with him as Vader fighting her. AHHHHHHHHH this is too much 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😊😊😊😭😭

    I have wanted to see, for some time now, all of the films reanimated in clone wars style. Harvest the audio, and animate it. It would allow 2 things: first, a consistent viewing experience from start to finish, with no change in how things look from front to back because some films were made in the 70s, and second, it would allow you to make the lackluster action scenes from the old movies make sense with the awesome stuff from now.

    • @riqeum

      As an aside, you could also interlace the movies and TV shows in episodic format, showing what's happening in rebels leading up through rogue one, show off Darth Vader wrecking house, and then stop everything. Pivot to episode 1, a few more episodes of rebels, episode 4, a couple more episodes of rebels, episode 2, clone wars (would we keep the 2d animation or reanimated that too?) Bounce back to rebels, episode 5,more clone wars leading up to ep 3, more rebels leading up to ep 6, and seamlessly blend the mandalorian. It could work.

    It was the same thing with ahsoka, except she didnt listen to anger because she was to sad and devastated and understood that the order wasnt good enough

    I am a new Star Wars viewer but at the end of this video it made impact on me when Anakin stated:
    "Anakin Skywalker was weak and i destroyed him."
    It was his self-protection from the disappointments and sufferings of his former life as Anakin. He didn't never kill Anakin, but buried him deep inside. Feelings of loss and rejection are central to assessing Anakin / Vader's personality and reasons for action. These feelings made him to turn to the dark side, but at the end of his life same kind of feelings caused him to redeem himself and return to the light.
    Everything happens for a reason. It's easy to judge. He was not born evil or just decided one day for no reason to become a Sith lord. From many point of view he was disrespected and treated unfair. He became heavily influenced by feelings of bitterness and injustice which numbed his feelings, and after that he gradually began to turn into something he never really wanted to be. There was many times even as Vader you could see he was not trying anything but survive and be very strong even his past haunted him. He could have liven as an extreme empath in a different environment but everything gone wrong because of his horrible life. He basically wanted what all human people want and deserve. Love, caring and respect.
