@@giomartino6 fr i cry/almost cry every time I hear this song now
I can't hear this song the same after that ending man.. After seeing that beautiful kiss and the songs timing, I thought David and Lucy was gonna run away... all that came after was sorrow.
Its still bleeding…
Can’t take it anymore
it's ironic that lucy felt as happy as she thought she would be in the moon when she was just in a simulation, but when she actually went there was nothing but sadness, because she wasn't with the one person that was also her dream
Damn, u fking right. It hurts
alr fucked up the ending ty
Bro there's a fcking lump in my throat and it hurts to breathe rn. Ain't crying but fck it hurts to not to...
dude, fu, as if it wasnt enuf
God this ending is so fucking painful
The cut where David disappears is just brutal. No fade out. No goodbye. No spirit watching over Lucy. He is gone.
Coz he dead 💀
So he can’t follow with his gf to the moon and the disappearance of David is that his gf Lucy appear in her mind
Maybe she miss him 😢
did he actually died?
On one hand, I kind of hope he didn’t die, because then there would be a season two. But on the other hand, I kind of wanted him to die so you wouldn’t have to feel so much pain all of his life you know what I’m saying?
That scene broke me. I literally cried so hard I was sobbing uncontrollably for 20 minutes and my boyfriend had to console me to get me calm down
@@toriverse436 wish I had someone for me during that

@@JinKee .. another evening i'll be sitting reading inbetween the lines..
I finished this anime 2-3 days ago with my wife and we can't get over the entire thing, especially the ending. The song is so bittersweet. I think we're gonna be stuck on this one for a very long time. I saw the ending coming a mile away as a CP2077 player. I saw a sliver of hope and I got too attached and in the end I got burnt. So goddamn fucking sad.
Yeah, Cyberpunk really is something special.
same fucking thing happened to me. Finished it 4 days ago, still can't get over it. I cry/almost cry every time I hear this song. I knew the ending would be sad but by the end of eppy 4 I thought it wouldn't be too bad and I actually thought it'd have a good ending. By ep 7, was convinced it'll be bad but at least it was bittersweet. Rewatched it and gonna replay the game as well. Still can't get over edgerunners though. The only way to cope I think is to rewatch till ep 4, forget whatever happened next and headcanon the rest.
I think once you’ve dealt with around 12 or so cyberpsycho incidents in Regina’s mission and the knowledge you get from it on the matter really makes what happens even more painful because you’ve seen so many suffer that fate and know all the signs and results but you’ve never seen it happen to someone you actually know or care about and you see it happen twice it’s truly heart shattering and tbh I don’t think I’ll ever play cyberpunk the same way again
@@med5674 tbh after watching the anime i finally realized the scary part of installing chrome to your body and the addiction it might cause. I thought it was just a typical upgrade and only thought of the good things. The anime was really something and fills some of the gaps in the game.
Yes. Do u know the meaning of "the flag" like "i will be back to see you""i wll get married after this war is over" Actually, the story hints the sign of David's Death so damn fking times.
i like how collectively the ending made us sad then we click on every single youtube video about it making us sad again and again
It also resulted in a lot of us buying or logging back into cyberpunk just to kill smash
Yeah man it’s like that feeling of the wound that isn’t gonna fully heal
I totally agree. It's a spiral of sadness.
The show was spectacular, it’s only flaw was that it was too short and felt kinda rushed after episode 6 due to that.
I will replay killing Adam over and over until I get over episode ten.
so glad I didn't spare him the first time (I mean who would). Replaying the game and killing Adam is just so satisfying now.
ikr, the anime had so many story and character development cut
Beat him down with Meredith’s Dildo and then use Guts to finish him off
I didn't think it felt rushed tbh.
I think that that rushed pace in the end made it even more emotionally crushing. It felt like sitting in a train which is driving toward an abyss and you didn't had the time to prepare for what was about to happen. This anime was so beautiful and every aspect was so well thought out that it would have been great, if it had more episodes- but at the same time I don't know if the ending would have had the same impact on me. (Sorry for my bad english; I'm not native)
the feel is so overwhelming enough to make a grown man cry
Seeing a man dedicated everything to his love, i think it s satisfaction. "I MADE IT" is the only phrase i can thought of
It’s enough to make even a Cyberpsycho cry…
it hurts so bad to see the contrasting look on Lucys face. She lost everything.
She looks very dead inside
She had to pay the price

If I am correct in the end it said going to the moon is one way ticket so like is not going to come back to earth?
@@aadas6322 I think one way ticket just means it costs that much to go to the moon then it will cost that much to come back to earth. From what i saw it looks more like a resort. So eventually youll come back. It doesnt look like theres any cities or settlements there.

What do I do if I’m not sad because it ended but instead am sad because of *how* it ended?
I'll never understand that phrase tho.
I'm sure Lucy can relate 👌😂
but i dont want it to happen it makes me not sleep at night
I cand help but feel my heart decimate after seeing this scene.. perfectly captures the memories we have of someone after they're gone and just visualizing In Your head that they're with u, only for them to dissappear in a second never knowing if you'll ever make another memory with them. Truly a beautiful peice of art and it always breaks me down to tears..
When David died, he closed his eyes and basked in the light of the gunfire just like how she basks in sunlight... in his last moments he was there with her in his mind.
It's kinda sad... I swear, I can't stop crying...
0:57 Anyone who has lost someone knows this feeling.
I can relate. FKN depressive.
It's sad I will never fully recover. This scene made it worse.
would be really wholesome if they add lucy's apartment as a property, and once you bought it, you get a simple text message from her about the purchase, would be even better if she acknowledge what V did and how we remind her of someone she know and wishes us luck (kinda like what falco did) , would be a simple way to patch a sorta good ending into this cruel world🥺 without a full-blown expansion
Unfortunately that's not possible as the story explains that it's a one way ticket to the moon,Lucy probably settled and started to live on the moon and doesn't wanna come back to night city
@@undying1177 that's not entirely correct. As Falco said, David wanted him and Lucy to split the reward money 50/50 of the 1 million that was 500k each. we also know that moon tours cost 250k for a one way ticket, so it is possible for her to come back to night city. not that she would want to. my theory is she lifts her arms up and the screen goes black, she removes her helmet.
@@SaifK240
I don't think so, otherwise David's sacrifice would have been useless
@@orangeorca913 well... Yes and no.
David specifically said that he's okay with dying as long as she achieve her dreams. Well, she did that. She got to the moon. But now she has no reason to live longer. Not to mention it was where their "1st date" happened so she's gonna see him everywhere.
Lastly... I think Falco mentions he's the only 1 left of David's crew in the game.
@@DarthPingu07 If Lucy took off her helmet after achieving her dream of living on the moon, I feel that would be a pretty poetic move.
Seeing this put together, with what I've been going through recently, with the loss of my love, my soul mate, is what's broken that dam that's been blocking my tears this last week.
Seeing her face at 0:33, as David is away from her, that implication that she is just loving the memory of him and the time, and then her face crumbling into a sad smile of absolute adoration, longing, sadness, and love, as he turns around is so beautiful... And then... he disappears.
And it's exactly how I feel. How it was. One moment she's there, the next she is gone. I miss you. I love you, little miss Delft. My light.
I'm really sorry for you, as much as a stranger on the internet can be. Stay strong.
Im so sorry for your loss man.
I am sorry for your lost brother. I hope you find your happiness again.
It's one of those shows that make you feel empty for a time after watching.
😢
Saddest animated series ending since Samurai Jack's, but this is clearly sadder:
At least Jack had the consolation of knowing he saved the universe after Ashi was erased from history.
Lucy lost EVERYTHING.
By the way, in Samurai Jack’s game you can get a true ending in which he ends up with Ashi in the last scene😊
@@abouteverything413 A nice gesture, which I appreciate, but we all know that doesn't make sense when taking in count the implications of time travel.
@@Sefaso if you wanna be technical the ending is Canon so...

You should watch Gundam: iron blooded orphans. I wasn’t ok after that ending for a while 😭😂
Man I watched this week's ago and the pain and depressed feeling feels fresh every single time I hear this song or see this scene.
It's almost like a flick of a switch and I immediately get that feeling I had at the end of the show and wanna cry
I don't think I've every had a piece of media do this to me before
This make 20 years old boy cry again and feel all the emotions again.
The face of Lucy when she realized that David isn't there hurt me the most. This show will be in my heart forever.
Her face when she realise that David is not there anymore 😭😭😭 one of the best love story of the season and it's so weird that i didn't expected any love element in a cyberpunk series.... Each characters had a emotional connection with the audiance specially David,Lucy Becca
I wish David met V and Jackie 😔
Word. Her face at 1:01 completely destroyed me
Gosh I swear guys, I can't stop crying... I need water, I need to dry my tears... Ooooooohhhh my gosh that's why I never watch the anime shows like this....
i wish David didnt make as many mistakes as he did. He saw what so many upgrades did to Main, and he still decided to ignore everyones warnigns and got himself killed. Even telling Lucy at the end that he was worthless/useless. His writing really pissed me off. He threw his life away for nothing, he couldve been with lucy
It's crazy what a ten episode show can do with you emotionally.
Watching this feels like ripping your wounds open and pouring salt in it.
Lucy seems happy but I can't help but shake the feeling her dream of going to the moon is going to ring hallow. She clearly wasn't a pepole person. And David really had to break down her walls and was the only person she shared that dream with. I hope I'm wrong but it seems like it be hard to be there without David.
Dont know about her being happy. When she arrives she looks depressed af, she has nothing left.
It was, but the message of her being in David's place at the conclusion is that part of him lives on in her. Keep in mind that this ain't our world, it is Cyberpunk 2077's world, which is a dystopian nightmare where life is extremely cheap. This is about as far as happy endings go in this universe for the vast majority of the populace.
After she met David her dream was to be with him
She looks suicidal....
@@Tyrantofthewind it’a not exactly a happy ending considering it’s a one way trip to the moon and she’s dead inside lol

Shits too depressing
When I saw the name David Martinez as the the guy playing the main character. I knew he’d die, just remembering playing CP and seeing a drink named that. Was like who the fuck is that if he’s here with Johnny, dude died like a G. God damn I wish I never saw that drink now lol.
this show left my heart agape
I clicked on the video out of curiosity and as soon as I heard the music I had to pause. Literally only one second in and I was actually going to cry. This show along with the song gets to me everytime. I can’t hear the song without wanting to cry.
Maaaaannnn I can't get out of my head this anime and that song, help
I thought I was over it, but now seeing the comparison and stark difference between how Lucy felt then to now just makes me depressed even more.
Imma just go curl up into a ball and cry now.
The dialogue from the Ep 2 scene matters a lot to for this comparison. Lucy mentions that the heat felt by the sun in the simulation is through their personal link, allowing them to feel the heat of the sun. They'd be fried if she set it at the actual temperature, and that it's lowered to mellow out the experience. To preserve the happy fantasy of enjoying the moon in the simulation. Now, in the finale, Lucy's feeling the real heat of the sun, it's reality - a scenario where only she lives and gets to experience her dream, when everyone else died
Who knew a song about wanting to stay at somebody's house would make even a TEN YEAR OLD (like me) cry every time they hear it.
I see all the comments here saying "Lucy lost everything" and while she technically did, I like to think that she gained something important too.
I think back to the Titanic movie. Rose lost everything too, arriving at the shores of America with nothing but her name and the clothes on her back. But despite it all, she gained the love and memory of a man named Jack Dawson. This memory stayed with her the rest of her life, spurring her to go on and live a full life, filled with adventure, many of them things she dreamed about doing with Jack and I'm sure during every moment she wished Jack had been by her side for them. But still she went on, knowing that Jack wanted her to be happy and with his spirit egging her on, happiness is what she ultimately found, despite her loss.
I like to think that Lucy will have the same experience. David died to make Lucy's dream a reality, so she may be happy. Lucy got to achieve her dream and visit the moon and as we see in this video, it does ring a bit hollow as over the years she had incorporated David into that dream, wanting to experience it together. The wound is fresh now but I like to think that after this trip, Lucy returns to Earth and uses whatever money she has leftover thanks to David to move to someplace else other than Night City where she can build a new life to pursue happiness, guided by the memory of David. Then one day when she's old, Lucy can have her own "Old Rose" moment where she tells someone the tale of David Martinez and how he saved her "in every way a person can be saved".
This ending is bittersweet but it doesn't have to stay as bitter forever.
That's beautiful... i like it and it seem very possible
Simply amazing, this show was just amazing, this scene broke me into a million pieces...can't watch or hear that song without tear up a bit.
As much as I would've loved more episodes because I just didn't want the ride to end, it felt just so thematically correct for everything after Maine's death to feel like a fast, downward spiral. That left David with some REAL emotional trauma, more than he already had, and that's just the thing about Night City. It ALWAYS wins. The inevitability of that fact combined with the pacing made it feel like a rapidly approaching train wreck that you just couldn't look away from and it was perfect for the setting. It's also beautiful that while David didn't beat night city, his dream did come true. Lucy got to the moon, and it was bittersweet because all she wanted was to make it there with him, so her dream didn't come true. But she can take solace knowing she made it out of the city, and that she made his dream come true.
I cried too much when I saw that even at the end david managed to give lucy one last smile
The Cyberpunk: Edgerunners broke my heart! 😭 The ending...😭😭😭

SOMEONE WRITE A HAPPY ENDING
Sadly you don’t get many happy endings in Night City. That’s just how it goes down choom.
Even when you play the game still there is no happy ending....
There are no happy endings in Night City, so make a Ending that you can be damn proud of.
JESSE WRITE ME A GODDAMN FANFIC WHERE THEY ARE HAPPY IT HAS TO BE 50 CHAPTERS LONG
wrong city, wrong people, wrong game pal
I just feel like sharing this with someone since I haven't read anyone infer it this way,
but I feel that the last scene where Lucy embraces the sun's warmth, is not only to "live the moment as David", but because it's the same warmth that David felt when they first had the BD.
The warmth of the sun is the only thing now she can feel that physically reminds her of that shared moment.
Perhaps, living and feeling that radiant warmth from the sun can be the only that that keeps her going, even if she has to return to the cold and cruel Night City.
Every day, the sun will remind Lucy of David, no matter how far, and she will fight to live even just one more day to experience that feeling again.
Very good video. Man this hurts dude I'm crying again and I'm not lying.. depressed as hell.
god, i can't stop crying.
This is what love is. Learning to suffer for the sake of each other in the face of adversity, shielding each other from harm, whatever the cost, however painful it may be, going forward and overcoming the obstacles that life throws at us making any necessary sacrifice. Not for our sake, but for the sake of the person we love. David and Lucy incarnated this bond perfectly, and this is what makes this story special.
Haha this is all a big prank! They all ended up on the moon happy and alive :)
Wake the fuckup samurai.... David Rebecca is dead deal with it

When David blips out and she sits there staring at an empty moonscape it absolutely rips my heart out.

"Happy ending here, for people like us? Wrong city, wrong people."
Johnny silver hand.
It's like I'm here to break my heart even more...
I cried because of this, it just felt so tragic. I felt like throughout the story, her dream changed, it was no longer to leave the city and go to the moon, it was to be with the one she loved the most, and it was just a plus if she could make it to the moon. She had found something to live for, someone that could make the pain and suffering of living in Night City bearable. When she goes to the moon, she really isn't truly happy because her dream had become going to the moon with David, and he wasn't there.
Man I cant stop tearing up to this song after watching it's like me experiencing the end of FFXV again "stand by me" still makes me cry too and these are the only ones to do this for me 😭

Wow seeing the two scene close with the song playing gives it more meaning. She wanted to go into his house as in wanted to be always with him but now she feels mad and sad because she can only leave and ignore the feelings that she could have while thinking about what she wanna do and what’s her point of view after what she suffered after David’s sacrifice.
Thank you, appreciate the hard work and time. Luv the side by side placing us inside her (Lucy's) recall of the memory even more so now. Bittersweet, heartbreaking yet makes it softer/heartwarming (in the best way possible) too 🥲
That scene in ep2 was my top 3 favorite of the show even before episode ten, just because of how wholesome and well directed it was. Now after ep10 it still is my top 3 but it just makes me depressed…
