That came out gorgeous. Nice, clear explanations as well. And I love your product photography - that's absolutely something I have to get better at for my business.
For sure! If I were to do a bigger table id def consider doing that. This one was just a little guy, so I didnt bother, but yeah. Definitely for a dining table or large coffee table!
Your work is absolutely gorgeous! I’m really curious to know how you got into woodworking. Maybe you can do a video telling us that story while you’re working on a new piece. You’re such a well rounded artist ❤
Thank you Julia!! I've been woodworking since highschool. I didn't have access to a shop for a while and I put a lot of time into the music, so I wasn't really doing it, but i've always loved it. Trying to find a good balance between music and this now!
Just found your channel (TH-cam is finally giving me some new channel suggestions), and I dig your production values - both the woodworking and the video production. Please keep it up!
I love the dog at 4:10 lol. looks like a good boi. Also well done with the video, i just started making resin tables about 3 months ago and have watched nearly every blacktail studio video out hes made but yours is the first channel i really feel like is as watchable as his, and you're more on my level as far as tools and budget, so keep it up man! subscribed.
Hey man, great video and nice table. A little tip as far as TH-cam goes, if you're trying to make woodworking commentary kind of like Blacktail studio or Foureyes Furniture then it's not a bad idea to just write out more of a script for the voiceover so that you can avoid any "um"s, "uh"s, and "things like that"s. It'll really take the videos to the next level I think.
Also, I don't know your exact situation as far as your shop goes, but bright shop lights and more ambient and natural light for the woodworking portions would really look good.
Thank you! I appreciate it. The thing I really like about odies oil is that the sheen goes however high you sand it. So if I was looking for a higher gloss I could sand up to maybe 1000-2000 and it would be nice and shiny. I'm a big fan of the flat/satin look so I like to stop at around 320 grit.
Beautiful piece. Cant wait to see more of your work. A couple of recommendations: - You should use stops or clamps, and a stable working surface, when you're cutting. I was on edge every time you were cutting for fear that the table might collapse or some accident may happen as you were cutting towards your bracing hand. - Also, the constant shakiness of the work surface coupled with the timelapse made me a bit nauseous. Otherwise, very enjoyable video from a new sub!
Could you tell us, what epoxy brand do you use? (maybe link to amazon?). And what is the mix proportion? A week ago I tried mix, and still is to soft ;/
Yeah, I only use liquid glass deep pour epoxy. It works supeeeerrrr well and cures very hard and doesn't yellow quite as much as other brands i've used in the past. it's a 2:1(A:B) mix ratio.
Everything went well, but me personally don't like that black spot in the center. To mask it will be good to take some wood dust and mix it with the ca glue. Overall great build!
I agree. I originally used sawdust and glue, but it was too big of a spot, so it was super noticeable, so I just went with the black, so it didn't seem like I was trying to hide it.
Just a request since this video is billed as a how-to. When you say things like a step "was way harder than I thought it was going to be a d I'd do it differently next time"" it would be really useful go hear what didn't work and how you'd do it differently.
Love the richness of the grain…beautiful table!

When making a black epoxy fill, have you considered using scrap wood to fill in? Saves a lot of epoxy, money and weight.
For sure! If I were to do a bigger table id def consider doing that. This one was just a little guy, so I didnt bother, but yeah. Definitely for a dining table or large coffee table!

Love this video! Can I use my electric planer to make smooth the top ? Thank you
Beautiful! Any tips for where to get that tulip base?
Wonderful. Work of art. Question. What would you use if you wanted a higher gloss finish?

You do know that epoxy is extremely toxic, right? You really shouldn't be putting your fingers in there unless you have a death wish :/
Dude! Dont use your bare hands in the epoxy! Are you psycho? Serious health concerns brother
Hey bro, I really enjoyed the channel.what type of epoxy do you use?
Thank you! I appreciate it. I use the liquid glass deep pour epoxy by superclear. Good price point and cures hard and clear!
